They're the Pirate King and the World's Greatest Swordsman, after all. The rest of the world just hasn't quite caught on yet. love the whole flavour of zolu that's them stoutly not giving a fuck about their past or present incarnations and their implications on their lives in the now, or the fact that they're technically gods or whatever. the type of zolu that's like who cares about fate and being the sun god and the king of hell when i chose you, and will keep choosing you here in this life, even though everything about that sentiment and everything about them and their bond and their interactions still speaks to the inevitability of their love and how they're meant to be...i love when their nonchalance wars with their inadvertent and inherent piousness like that it's so good

#i know it's because oda hasn't deigned fit to even mention the eye #but it's super interesting that the fandom reaction is to by and large agree to treat it as this unknowable black box of an event #this is possibly the only art i've ever seen about it #and it is GREAT all the kudos to OP #but even here we don't see the cause of the injury #just in general the fandom treats Zoro's eye as this sacred thing no one dares to touch beyond acknowledging it happened #and i think that is SO COOL

laughing a little at the idea of luffy and zoro being too stubborn to admit their feelings. zoro “maybe if I work out more it’ll go away. I’m stronger than a stupid crush” & luffy whose mind is food fun pirate king one piece adventure is suddenly distracted by zoro working out in the sun / fighting and is annoyed. which eventually turns into ‘well I’M not going to be the one to say something smh’

Someone else pointed this out but not only does he only share drinks with someone he's taking on as crew he OUTRIGHT REFUSED when the same gesture was suggested as a means of claiming authority over others with the grand fleet! And then they just shared it amongst themselves because in this series SHARING SAKE CUPS IS A GESTURE OF FRATERNITY AND BROTHERHOOD AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

HOLY SHIT

The most sacred ceremony for Luffy is the sake ceremony. He only does it when he claims you as family. When ever he gets a new crew mate, he does the toast thing. He's claiming his crew as his family. Gods damn it. I'm over here making myself cry.
