Suigetsu opens his mouth, and then he closes it wordlessly as he rethinks his immediate reaction. “No,” he says after a careful pause. Then, “Well, yes, I’m disappointed, but just because of all the fun you’re gonna miss out on! I think you’ll still make a great shinobi anyway! Plus, who’s to say you won’t learn it later on? It took me a long time to learn a lot of techniques too. Some of them I never even learned until after I was grown and married! You’ll get there...” Was that sensitive and supportive enough? The smile on his child’s face indicated that he has in fact done a good job of being careful with their feelings.

What do you think of Ryukyu's signature weapon of needles? Did you know that when he is up against a truelt strong opponent he uses a pair of sai. How would you feel of your children were more suites to those weapons than the sword? Or their summoning turned into their weapon (like monkey king enma for the third hokage)

"I think all of Ry's skills are really amazing. Just because I prefer swords doesn't mean I can't appreciate other skills too. I think it takes a lot of technique to be able to master something like those needles. The sai are a little docile for me, but I've never tried! Maybe I don't know what I'm missing, ne?" He grinned. "I think if my children take any of Ry's skills, I'll be very proud. But you can bet I'll try to get them to master every skill they possibly can, so I won't just give up just because they don't take to my side of things naturally! We'll train hard together until they're the best they can be! Even if that means they don't take after me in the end, I'll still be really proud of them for trying. Also, if their summons turned into their weapon, I would be in total awe honestly! At that point, I'd have to wonder if my kids have surpassed me!!!" Even though it sounds like a worried statement, he's visibly happy by the idea. If his children surpass him, then he's surely done something very right!

Suigetsu frowned. He wasn't sure who to be more concerned about. "Well, that's why we have to be very careful around the swords. They're not just tools, you know. They have personalities too, and we have to respect them! Let me see..." He inspected the bleeding wound, and then he smiled. "But a scratch!" he declared. "You'll be stronger for it! Maybe if you comfort samehada, you'll build a stronger bond," he suggested. "Why don't we go throw some big jutsus at it so it can absorb some of our chakra? I think that'll make it feel better. I hear it likes water techniques the most. You can show off some of what you've been learning for me!"
