TI says there is a difference between Southern and County, well, I am country, and I live in the country. The buildings on the reel represent the memories I share of the people who lived in and visited these homes that once stood proud and strong. The log Cabin building has memories that should live on. One that represents the struggles of Black in this area before, during, and after Slavery. Before, we were enslaved because they were the ones with the burning desire to be educated and to educate their children. The ones who used their resources and manual labor to acquire the material and build the place to educate our children. During the years before emancipation, some ran away with Sherman's army to fight for their freedom and the freedom of their family living in the south. They kept the dream for a better tomorrow alive. After emancipation, the once enslaved sought education for themselves, a design to build a structure worthy to stand the test of time and educate future children. Now it is up to us to bring back the legacy. Will you join me as we save the place our ancestors built to teach our children once more, to become a repository and heritage to their accomplishments?
