I started writing this novel (started it 3 years ago, picked it back up again over the weekend), after 20 years of it being in my head. I put the first chapter on Scribophile (which for some reason doesn't have an app???) and one of my critiquers said it was one of the best chapters she's ever read on the website, and someone else said they would totally buy it if it got published....guess that means I gotta keep working on it

What i liked about the chapter: Sonic didn't suck and Flash wasn't the focal point. Before it was Flash carrying Sonic. I also found Wind getting turned into a sandbag weapon pretty funny.

What I did not like: the bloodbath. I mean, they deserved it, the ninjas, but it just seemed... rough. And the lack of nosebleed or Sonic being overwhelmed by Flash's abilities.

New theory: I have a suspicion that the ninjas are going to resurrect. Was it ever confirmed that Wind and Flame were brought back to life by Phoenix Man, or did we just assume? We know that the ninjas couldn't kill themselves or die in the village. Unless that was retconned. They just seemed too interesting to just die so quickly (the chapter felt so rushed). Maybe in their genetic modification by the village, the ninjas were given the ability to return to life no matter the damage. It would make a little sense since they're important commodities.

I dunno. Just thinking.
