The originals ask who is klaus favourite sibling

i know its implied that Rebekah is his favorite, but i think shes everyone's favorite because shes the youngest. i personally believe that Elijah is Klaus' favorite sibling, their bond was so special and klaus was always so lost and torn without him around. sometimes i love to think that Elijah was more of a father figure for him, supporting him, loving him despite his faults, and believing in him at all times. they loved each other so much and they were each other's favorite.

every love interest in klaus' life was so important for his character growth, all three women represented something for him, which is why they are the only ones he ever got truly attached (romantically) to. Just hear me out.

1) Aurora De Martel.

Aurora was the remaining innocence he had left. a little boy who just wanted to be loved and enough for someone to stay. she was the first person ever he trusted to share his secret about killing his mother, because he hated being a monster but thats what he was, and he wanted her to accept him just like that. the first love and the first heartbreak.

2) Caroline Forbes.

Caroline was the glory of immortality.

the love for power and youth, the feeling of being strong, unstoppable and fearless.

she was the only person he met that actually loved the vampirism and understood its real beauty. she showed him that even a vampire, a monster, can be good, can show love, mercy, kindness and forgiveness and that won't make them any less powerful. thats also besides the fact that they kind of shared the same insecurities, character growth and the trauma of nearly getting killed by their parents.

3) Camille O'connell.

Camille was the fragile humanity.

another perspective of life. the human klaus wished he could have been once, full of hope, positive, confident, cheerful and clueless.

she was the person who taught him that its okay to be powerless, delicate and vulnerable, and helped him to find his own path to the light and become a better person, not for her, but for his little daughter.

All three of them were an important chapter in his life that could not be ignored or overlooked. such beautiful and powerful women.

i love how klaus only daggered elijah two times, each one he took him by surprise, and each time when elijah woke up he was already on his knees asking for forgiveness. Elijah really had him by the throat.

i know its confirmed that Elijah truly intended to kill klaus for good in tvds2, but knowing how cunning elijah is, i cant help but think that maybe he was actually helping klaus in the shadows. like he could have easly faced him to know the truth about the family and what he did to them, but no, instead he teamed up with a group of toddlers, convincing them that in order to kill klaus, he have to complete the ritual first! elijah knew that was the only chance for klaus to break his curse, that he might not end up killing him after all, and if he didn't play his cards right, everything will be ruined again, so he waited till the last moment to interfere and then decided.

I feel like i should talk about one of my favorite episodes of tvd aka the Mikealson ball, because my man was so ready to risk it all that night😭.

the way he mocked his mother when asked about his date, but then delivering the invitation and the dress to caroline's door himself, and from giving her lovey dovey eyes the whole evening to sweet talking and complimenting her every two seconds, while trying to impress her with his paintings, horses and promises about taking her to see the most beautiful cities in the world. he wanted her to like him so much and was so direct and vocal about his interest in her which was amazing. he acted like a true gentleman all evening🥹.

( You can't tell me she wasn't enjoying his attention. also, utterly stunning. )
