Tweek and the Way the Fandom Treats him

The main subject of this analysis is how Tweek’s sexuality impacts how he’s characterized in the fandom. First I will summarize both major characteristics of Tweek in canon and any characteristics of his I see as relevant to this discussion. Then I’ll bring up different ways in which the fandom goes about this character in a harmful way. The point of this analysis isn’t to belittle or police how people portray this character. I’ll summarize Tweek in as balanced and objective way as I can, but I am not this character’s keeper. The point is to get people thinking about how Tweek’s sexuality factors in to how they perceive and portray him.

Steek headcanons

((Hardly anything about my rare pair so might as well contribute))

Tweek slaps or grabs bottle of alcohol from Stan’s hands before he partakes, reasoning probably be to monitor Stan’s addiction

Speaking of addictions, they look out for each other and watch each others habits cause they don’t trust that job with their unhealthy selves

Stan is pretty patient with Tweek and his anxieties. Tweek is very forward, say-the-first-thing-from-the-top-of-your-head kind of person so he doesn’t pussyfoot around his feelings, especially when it’s problems about himself or their relationship. (He also learns this from his previous relationship with Craig. I’m still considering Creek canon, tho broken up but still cool best friends.)

Stan is not very good around aggression, so Tweek learned how to adjust his anger so Stan would be comfortable around him.

They do meditations together. Stan is really fascinated with Tweek and his Buddhist beliefs.

Though Wendy was a bit salty about not getting back together with Stan, she was still supportive with their relationship. She’s even good friends with Tweek. She and Tweek just talking about Stan, Tweek asking for help relating to him or Wendy’s personal experience with Stan, etc.

Same with Craig, but he gave less shits cause their break was mutual. Stan goes to Craig sometimes for advice on how to calm Tweek down. Craig tolerates Stan because he’s Tweek’s new bf, but Craig still doesn’t like hanging out with him and his friend group.

Stan picks up the habit of coffee drinking to try and replace his alcoholism, but only in moderation since he’s also helping Tweek with his meth-infused caffeine addiction.

Tweek really cheers loudly when Stan plays his sports. He’s super into it once he gets past his initial anxiety. He has face paint and everything. Stan gets emberassed but really appreciates it.

Stan finds Tweek’s piano skills relaxing. Stan sometimes jams out along with his guitar. Stan is usually on lead vocals.

They talk problems out well once they’ve gotten used to their relationship, which really benefits both of them.

Stan usually believes in the stuff Tweek babbles about, probably because he experienced it himself and it’s cause he lives in South Park, but he’s still critical and asks for proof or at least a bit of evidence before he accepts it. He gives a benefit of the doubt for Tweek.

Tweek’s parents were sad about the Creek break-up but were glad again cause Tweek was dating Stan. Glad cause it was good for their coffee brand. Stan kinda likes his parents more because of them, even though his parents (his dad) are stupid. Tweek also visits Stan’s house more, instead of vice versa.

Randy was kinda stoked and supportive of the new relationship, commenting that Stan finally broke the on-off cycle with Wendy.

Shelly mildly approved, but was still mean to Tweek, which first got him frightened, but then he started fighting back once he gotten used to it.

Tweek is friends with the Goth Kids (through coffee and cycnisms), and Stan recoinciled his friendship with them through Tweek. The Goth Kids are also Stan’s support group when Tweek or his usual friends aren’t around.

Craig and those guys are pretty chill with Tweek and Stan. They’re lowkey glad there’s no more PDA in their group hang outs between Tweek and Craig.

Stan’s friends are cool with it too. Cartman is Cartman tho.

Kyle is really happy that someone else other than him is helping Stan through his depression. Tweek doesn’t keep Stan away from hanging out with his SBF so that’s another plus.

The Asian Girls started drawing Steek artwork when they started dating but Wendy put a stop to it before it got out of hand, cause it would probably do more harm than good. The Asian girls gave Stan a personal commission of him and Tweek after a few months into their relationship though. He frames it near his computer.

Stan sometimes gets jealous when Tweek hangs out with Craig and those guys, worried that Tweek might still have feelings for his ex, but Tweek always assures him of his choice, and that choice being Stan. (Whether the conversation be in a sweet tone or his exasperated dick voice of Tweek depends on how many times Stan asks about Craig)

Sharon is really happy on the positive influence Tweek has on Stan.

Tweek is into building with lego and Stan is pretty good with tools (from being Toolshed). They had a personal project to build and create the best tree house in South Park. Took years and almost all of their high school days but they did it.

When the two both have their respective mental illness attacks at the same time, they message each other about it before going to their alternative support groups (Tweek with Craig & those guys and Stan with his gang, usually Kyle, or the Goth Kids)

Tweek likes puppies. Stan has Sparky. Two boys and a dog. Tweek loves cuddling up to Sparky. Stan takes pictures when the two are sleeping together.
