TIL there are only around 120 anonymous Michelin restaurant inspectors in the world. They spend 3 out of every 4 weeks on the road, and must vacate a region for 10 years if they think a restaurant suspects their identity.

Mistakenly touched my weenor after crushing up a chili pepper for my Ramen honestly not as painful as one would expect more of a gentle heat much like the pleasant burn of cayenne in a spiced coffee or even much like . A chili crushed up in a bowl of delicious Ramen. Much food for thought

a truth made of lies
Five years after her narrow escape from her uncle's deadly cult, Rhaenyra is ready to tell her story.
Whether that story is true or not is another question altogether.

not all kinks are sublimated anxieties, but the readiness with which we turn our sublimated anxieties into sexual fantasies is one of the most endearing things about our species to me. like our brains are like, “hmm. don’t like this. i should jerk off about it.”

You don’t own fanfics. They’re inherently public domain because they aren’t your IP. Agree or disagree with AI, there are no grounds for “protection” from AI because it isn’t your IP to begin with. That’s what you chose when you chose this medium
Oh dear.
Okay, you get an answer, because at least you took the effort to write your ask out properly, even if you are hiding behind the grey, sunglassed circle.
Do I, or any fanfic author for that matter, have any legal claims to our work? No, not really, no. (Although if someone took a fic, filed off the serial number--deleted the fandom specific elements--, and then had it published for financial gain, yeah, that would be a case.)
BUT
Fandoms are built on a social contract that says we respect each others work, the effort people put into their art. We don't steal or disrespect the work of our peers. By feeding people's fanworks to AI you both steal and disprect it, and we need to make people realize that before it's too late--before fandom falls apart, because there will be no more real, actual fanworks.
Disrepectfully,
Orlissa

Of course I agree with all of this, but I should add that, in fact, fanfiction writers do own some amount of their work. We can't package it with the original IP and sell it as is, but if a fanfiction author were to, say, send fanfiction of a show to a showrunner, and if that showrunner were to read and use ideas from it, the author would have grounds to sue. There is a documented history of this happening in the past to some extent, and authors like Neil Gaiman have been explicit about not reading the fanfiction they're sent of their work for that very reason.
And that's because IP law is vastly nuanced and complex and difficult to navigate. It's not cut and dry, and though we, as fanfiction writers, relinquish a good portion of ownership because we choose to rely on an existing IP, it doesn't mean that our work isn't our own, even in a legal sense.
This is why we can send DMCA notices to platforms hosting con artists who try to sell eBooks of plagiarised fanworks online. Even when those plagiarised eBooks are modern AUs with the serial numbers of the original IP filed off.
And though I do not want to detract from the original point, because I firmly believe that the social contract in fandom is the heart that allows it to exist and thrive, it's important for fanfiction authors to understand and recognise that, though limited, they also have some legal rights when it comes to their work. And they are perfectly entitled to defend them if they see them breached or attacked.

before the schism
Spreading Fleurinny propaganda for @venom0usbarbie Ginny/Fleur for @microficmay day 5, prompt: here & there. M, cw: infidelity
Here: you're hers. Heart cradled in the palm of her hand.
There: you're nothing. Little sister by choice, not by blood — and that's worse.
Secrets are hard to keep, especially ones as glorious as Fleur.
Bill will never forgive you.
Her lips are so warm.
One less brother won't hurt.
