Kaaaaaat!!
Kitty-Kat, of course we remember you! Thank you for your heart-warming message, and for being a part of VN. You were one of our first members - we’ll never forget that, as well as the faith you had in our vision and potential, even before the roleplay was created. Thank you for bringing an incredible energy to the dash while you were with us, and above all - for being our friend. :-)
Much love and don’t be a stranger!!

Today is not the last day of VN but rather the reminder that it went so far and did so much. You guys achieved something so rare and worked hard to do so. Congrats and all my love! Also, please do let me know where I can find you, if you write somewhere or open anything else. You’ll always have my support and admiration in anything and I do hope to write with the three of you in the future!!
Cara!!
Our apologies for the late reply. Thank you for your kind words, they mean so much to us! We are certainly proud of what we accomplished together with all of our members here at VN (yourself included!), and while all good things must come to an end, we are grateful that we got to close this beautiful roleplay on our own terms, as it entered its third year of activity on Tumblr.
Some of us are continuing with our characters and storylines behind the scenes, and our OOC will continue to remain open for current and former members (for all those interested - just message us for the link!).
Furthermore — We want to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we will be making our character bios private on the main, in order to protect our written content. However, If anyone would like to see a particular bio, please let us know and we’d happily share the relevant link!
Thank you again for the touching message!
Much love xx

⚜ A Few Months into our 3rd Year: The Journey Ends ⚜
We missed making a post on our second year anniversary since VN’s inception (May 24th) so we decided instead to commemorate the date that VN was officially opened for roleplaying. That day is today!
However, we have bittersweet news to share with our beloved roleplayers.
This post marks the official closing of VN. No good thing lasts forever, and we never intended for VN to last indefinitely. Since the release of Season Two, the admins have been working on plots for a potential season two or three finale; which we could’ve used to give VN a satisfactory ending. Unfortunately, due to major life changes in all three admins’ lives in the past few months, we can no longer dedicate ourselves to these plans. As such, we’ve chosen to speed up the process, and Vieux Noyés will finally close its doors on September 1st, 2018.
We know that this might come as a disappointment; both to current and former members who intended to rejoin us in the future. Some may wonder why we don’t continue with a less ambitious/more relaxed version of the group. We feel that this would go against everything that VN represented as a selective, highly literate, and structured-story roleplay. We will not sacrifice quality for longevity. Others may ask whether rp-driven changes might encourage us to reconsider. With extensive admin experience spanning several projects and many years, we know what it takes to create a strong roleplay. We’ve carefully tended to the spark that kept VN alive over the last few years. We’ve reignited it in slower periods and sustained it over many months of peak activity. So long as we had the will, we always found a way - but unfortunately, our will is not what it used to be. Finally, we don’t want to continue VN without the present collaboration of all three admins who breathed life into it, in the first place. With the end of summer fast approaching, we think this is the best time to tie up running storylines over the next four weeks, and bid old friends goodbye (or see you soon!).
Please note, we do not authorize our characters being used in other group rps, and so we kindly request this stipulation be respected. However, beyond Sept. 1st, we will be allowing all of our current members to keep roleplaying their individual characters amongst themselves. Players may also choose to extend their accounts to indie roleplaying on the conditions that 1) Vieux Noyés is appropriately credited for any bios/aesthetics/plots that are retained, and 2) The roleplayer send us a request detailing desired character changes in the process of turning them into indie roles. These requests will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. By doing so, we hope to honour the creative collaboration between roleplayers and admins, in bringing these characters and these stories to life.
More importantly, however, we want to use this post to say a big THANK YOU. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again; without you guys, none of this would have been possible. Each and every one of you left your mark on VN - big or small. Members who’ve been here since the very beginning and those who’ve joined along the way. Current members, and those who’ve come and gone as the changing demands of life necessitated. We thank you all, we love you all. We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavours, roleplaying and otherwise, and we hope everyone will keep in touch so as to maintain all of the friendships that have flourished as a result of this group. VN was the recipient of much acclaim during its time, but what we are most proud of is the OOC group we built together; renowned for being friendly, supportive and down-to-earth. This safe haven will remain open and accessible to you all, even once the rp is publicly closed. Thank you for being so incredibly special. Keep writing, keep telling stories, and keep caring as you do. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Signing off, one last time.

Members please note that we have updated our hiatus list: (X).
We’d like to remind members that three days without posting written content constitutes inactivity, and inconsistency can also result in inactivity. Pictures, aesthetics, and music do not count toward maintaining your activity and that the admins are looking only at threads (gif chats, text conversations, paras, etc), flashbacks, and self-paras. Additionally, we encourage any member who anticipates being away from the dash for an extended amount of time to request a hiatus. You can find the instructions to do so here: x.
Also, pleased be advised that some hiatuses ( @maliasinstnct, @jerxgilbs, @under-the-matisse, @silverargentvalkyrie, @hbiccarolineforbes ) have come to an end and regular activity is once again required in order to retain these roles.

        Kira Yukimura   ⚜   Kitsune   ⚜   17   ⚜   The Reborn   ⚜   ISTP
HAVE REGRETS. THEY ARE FUEL…
The daughter of a Japanese mother and a Korean father, Kira Yukimura had a quiet and conventional upbringing in New York. In fact, everything in her house seems to have been done quietly in contrast with the outside world; dinner table conversations (or lack thereof), movie nights every Saturday evening like clockwork, and even didactic punishment was usually delivered in the preferred style of a cold shoulder or the classic silent treatment. Her parents had social careers; her father, Ken, was a highschool History teacher, and her mother was a… Well, the truth was she never really understood exactly what Noshiko’s line of work entailed. Given the dusty tomes of Japanese history in her office and the katana swords that Kira was never allowed to touch, the girl assumed it had something to do with the buying and selling of antiques. Either way, her life wasn’t very quiet either; what with clandestine meetings with ‘coworkers’ that she held on the first Wednesday of every month — to the stretches of time she’d disappear without warning, only to return in the dead of night, ushered into her husband’s office for talks that occasionally ran till dawn. In contrast, Kira lived and grew in silence; making few friends at school, fewer still in her neighborhood, and abiding by a routine that fit like the perfect piece in the puzzle of her home.
She blames herself for it almost as much as she blames them — as far back as her memory goes, she was a timid, tentative thing; easily cowed by the merest frown of disapproval and smoothly molded to be as convenient an inconvenience as possible. It wasn’t that she was content being this way; in fact, she hated it. She hated grieving in silence when her grandfather - the closest person in her life - passed away from leukemia when she was thirteen. Hated that she let her mother convince her to take calculus as an elective in highschool rather than creative writing. And she especially hated that she took ‘’no’’ for an answer on so many questions that her parents seemed eager to shove under a rug.
                    {I decided it is better to scream.                 Silence is the real crime against humanity.}
Questions about their clandestine talks behind closed doors. About why so much of her parents’ property is off-limits to her; about why that katana sword felt so right in her hands the few times that she ‘borrowed’ it out of its glass casing. Questions about the night she touched a damaged, spark plug in the kitchen - felt electricity surge through her at a voltage that would’ve killed most children her age - and survived with a mere tingle running down her spine. She knew it was unnatural, even then. Her parents’ terrified expressions were a dead giveaway before they retreated into her mother’s office again, only to emerge hours later with faces as impenetrably calm as still water…
… ON THE PAGE THEY FLARE INTO DESIRE.
The move to New Orleans was a welcome change of scenery. And as her parents struggled to set a new, daily rhythm in the tumultuous whirlwind that was the Crescent City — Kira vowed it wouldn’t be the only change. She had one more year of highschool left and she was going to make it count. She wants to branch out, make friends. Real ones. And hey, if a little bit of romance comes her way, she won’t turn her nose up at that either. But more important than even getting more people in her life, Kira wants to get in touch with herself; come into her own skin. Figure out her values, her interests, her likes and dislikes. Maybe those of her parents too. Because for all of her gripes, she really does love them dearly. But what Kira doesn’t know is that New Orleans also has plans for her. Because a trickster spirit in the body of a thunder kitsune makes for a powerful pawn in the right hands. The question is — can Kira learn what she is and learn how to control her abilities before they’re used against her?…
WEB OF CONNECTIONS
Scott McCall: It’s one thing to talk about romance and another to imagine it with someone as sensitive and as selfless as Scott McCall. Kira hasn’t made her feelings known - isn’t even sure about them herself; but the prospect alone does something to her. She gets nervous and giddy around him and can’t quite explain why. To make matters worse, Scott has a girlfriend, Allison Argent, whom she’d prefer not to antagonize in making her crush known. Who knew high school could weave such a tangled web??
Mercy Lewis: Where mixed-up feelings are concerned, life seems to enjoy throwing them all her way at once. Kira gets similar feelings around Mercy; a wide-eyed wonder and rapidly beating heart that seem to only exacerbate her regular clumsiness. She’s only met the brooding young woman a handful of times and exchanged words with her even less than that. Kira can’t tell if what she feels is interest or intimidation, but whatever it is - she is drawn to Mercy like a guileless moth to a hungry flame. The problem? Ever since about a month ago, she’s stopped seeing Mercy around the city. It’s as though the other female just dropped off the face of the Earth. Kira spends more time than she’d ever admit wondering whether Mercy moved away, or whether something’s happened to her.
Jeremy Gilbert: And yet for every person who attracts her, there seems to be another who repels her just as strongly. Jeremy is the other newbie in her grade. They have two classes together; history and mathematics. Initially, she hoped to befriend him due to their common plights of being the ‘new kids’ on the block. He seemed a near-impossible nut to crack though, and barely responded to her efforts at initiating small-talk. But any hope Kira had of befriending him was completely and irrevocably lost when she slipped and fell down a flight of stairs one day, only to hear Jeremy’s raucous laughter following her all the way down. She thinks he’s immature and insensitive,, and has now taken to avoiding the younger Gilbert like the plague.
Bonnie Bennett: Maybe it’s the fact that Jeremy seems to trail after her like a lovesick puppy that has made Kira leery of the other girl. Maybe it’s just that Bonnie seems as stony and unapproachable as Jeremy. Or maybe it’s the fact that she once saw Bonnie and Mercy having a heated exchange outside of a café. Whatever it is, the girl just rubs her the wrong way. You can’t help who you like and who you dislike - and even if you could, where Bonnie is concerned - Kira isn’t particularly interested in trying.
Rebekah Mikaelson: It’s one thing to dislike a person and it’s another to be flat-out terrified by their presence alone. She’s only had one run-in with the menacing blonde - but considering it also involved a likely-dead body in an alleyway, Kira hopes not to have any more encounters. There’s no way of being sure whether the woman was responsible for the body, of course, but she seemed so utterly and coldly unbothered by it that the thought brings little comfort to Kira either way. But there’s more to it than that. For reasons unbeknownst to her, the blonde feltpredatory; inspiring terror in the young girl’s heart. If death itself had a scent, a sensation, a face - she images it would come in the form of this woman. For the life of her, Kira doesn’t understand why her senses responded so adversely - but she sure isn’t vying to find out.
Also mentioned in the following bios: Hayley Marshall, Elena Gilbert, Rogan Jones,
PLOT TEASERS:
Not only will Kira find that there are beings just like her in New Orleans - but also ones that pose a real threat to her and her loved ones. To make matters worse, she will be dragged into the war brewing in the Bayou, whether she likes it or not.
Kira will eventually discover that her parents are hiding far greater secrets than even her own, with ties to organizations that will really test her own set of ethics…
ON THE SOUNDTRACK OF HER LIFE: STILL SANE - LORDE (X)
FC: Arden Cho, non-negotiable.
FORTUNATELY FOR US, KIRA IS  T A K E N!!

It Matters Not What Someone is Born…
He was born on All Hallow’s Eve, marking the beginning of another New Year for the witches. The members of the Tremé Coven took it as a sign that he was destined for greatness; following in the footsteps of the gifted and feared witches in his ancestry. It was an expectation that hung over Vincent’s head as far back as he can remember - and a reputation that has troubled him throughout the better part of those years. His parents were not abusive towards him by any stretch of the imagination, and yet they didn’t denounce some of the extreme measures their Coven took towards those who were deemed to have done them wrong. Their reputation grew such that the 'Tremé Grudge’ became synonymous with death or destruction; something to be feared, even by non-witch supernaturals.
Still, sheltered from the effects of their strangling grasp, Vincent had a content and stable childhood. He wanted for nothing, and he had access to greater privilege than many other children within the Coven simply by virtue of his last name. To Vincent, they were all the same; friends, equally worthy irrespective of their lineages. That was until he turned sixteen, until he first met Eva Sinclair. Passionate, intelligent, magnetic. No adjectives seemed to do her justice.  Eva was magic. In the most cliché way, maybe, because all those silly expressions about love became true as their fast friendship turned blossomed into romance. She was his drug, his weak spot, his safe place to land. He never found himself to be happier than when he was with her. Several years later, they were married, with a child on the way.
But their happiness didn’t last, and nowadays Vincent thinks; it never does. Looking back, he should’ve seen it sooner, shouldn’t have ignored the rain-cloud that always hung above their relationship. Eva had always been fiercely political and ambitious. Her beliefs danced on the razor’s edge of extremism - but it wasn’t a problem until the book. An instruction manual for sacrificial magic. He blames himself for finding it on their doorstep that fateful day, for bringing it inside their happy home and reading it from cover to cover. He blames himself for indulging the notion that it could make a witch powerful enough to defeat Marcel and his entire tyrannical army of vampires - and for lending that same book to Eva. She became obsessed with the idea, her politics paving the way to a dangerous kind of fanaticism. Alarmed by her growing erraticism, Vincent begged her to stop; to burn the book and forget about the frightening power its teachings had lent them both. She promised she would. She promised.
           {Madness is not hysteria. It can be very quiet…}
But when one’s heart isn’t in it, promises are just words easily swept away by the wind. Eva never planned to stop. She continued, but in secret; working her way up to a sacrifice of the most innocent of human beings — children. Reports started trickling in, the youngest prodigies in each of the nine Covens disappearing slowly but surely, one by one. He should’ve suspected her then, but true to another cliché; love was blind, deaf, and dumb. The victims were just kids, and Eva was carrying their first. It wasn’t until he put together a team of witches from each Coven that he ultimately discovered his wife was behind the disappearances. They put a stop to the attacks before Eva could kill the children - he still remembers the deranged look in her eyes and the way she alternated between begging him to join her cause and threatening to kill him too if he sided against her. She’d grown almost too powerful by then, and it took dozens of witches to take her down. The fight - he would later find out - also resulted in the loss of their unborn baby, and Eva was promptly imprisoned in the witch asylum at Fauline Cottage.
For his efforts in rescuing the children, Vincent was summarily bestowed the right of Regency; a position which would give him esteemed leadership over all nine covens in New Orleans.  Little did they know that it was the last thing the disillusioned warlock wanted in his life. Magic had tainted his infamous lineage, magic has seduced his wife and brought death to his child. He started distancing himself - not just from Tremé Coven; but from all of the witches and warlocks in New Orleans. He wanted nothing to do with them, and he was slowly gathering the courage to publicly announce his decision and decline the position of Regent when the unthinkable happened... Vincent was attacked by a ring of psychics.
He’s not clear on the details after that. It could’ve been weeks, might’ve been months. There were long stretches of time when he was himself - terrified, confused - but even then, the feeling of being watched persisted. And any time he made a move to figure out what was happening to him and who was pulling the strings - he’d lose consciousness. He snapped out of it several weeks ago, and though he can’t explain it, he knew freedom when he felt it. He was terrified, enraged, confused... The pieces began falling together, and eventually he figured out that that the entity or group of entities that had been controlling him were not rival witches - as he’d initially suspected - but psychics. He wants to find out why, he wants to make sure it never happens to anyone in the city again. But there are so many puzzle pieces, and Vincent is still just one man, who doesn’t know who he can and cannot trust in New Orleans.
… But What They Grow to Be.
He tasted freedom for a few short weeks until trouble found him once more. This time, in the form of a much-hated Mikaelson, Finn. He knew it instantly when it happened; felt the binding spell and Finn’s dark, twisted presence for the flicker of a moment before the feeling was gone. But the consequences of the Binding Spell remain; the Original vampire had somehow linked their lives in a mortal pact - for what purpose, Vincent can only guess at. The vampire gets tendrils of his magic through their bond, but given that he’s currently Covenless, it’s unlikely to benefit Finn much. In return, Vincent gets faint imprints of the vampire’s bloodlust - which are easy to suppress with a bit of magic. His senses have also been heightened, as well as his strength and agility. Perks to the ignorant - but Vincent wants them gone. Any attempt he made at breaking the spell was curtailed by the completion of the Harvest, which killed all magic for the ancestral witches in the the Quarter. It’s put him in a bind, but Vincent won’t let that stop him. He’ll find a way to break the spell, determine Finn’s motives, and make him pay - in that order. After that he’ll gladly kiss his magic goodbye and disentangle himself from all things supernatural in New Orleans. He longs for the day.
Web of Connections
Marcel Gerard: There is undoubtedly an irony to fate, a universal sense of humour that persists through time and space. Marcel’s lackeys found him the day he finally regained full control of his senses - and it was the King of the Vampires himself who took him in and offered him safety and free shelter. In return, he’s promised him to try and find a way to bring back Davina, the way the Harvest was meant to. It’s an alliance of convenience, and he wouldn’t call them bosom buddies. Their ceasefire is dicey at best, especially given Marcel’s current stance on the witches (any but Davina, apparently). If he toes a foot out of line, Vincent knows the monarch won’t be making any exceptions on his behalf.
Camille O’Connell: He wouldn’t talk after what he’d been through with the psychics - not until Marcel played his ace. Little did he know that it would come in the form of a nondescript human therapist by the name of ‘Cami’. Except she was more than that, so much more. She was the first one who understood intimately well what he’d been through - what it felt like to have his mind at another’s mercy. She was the first one who offered him real empathy - not because she had anything to gain by it, nor even because Marcel had sent her. There are times were she reminds him of Eva; witty, sharp-tongued - and times where he realizes she shares much more in common with himself; values, perspectives, beliefs. Their budding friendship has become much more mutual in the weeks since they met, and neither like to turn down one of their long and insightful conversations. For all of Cami’s astute skills in people-reading, Vincent likes to think he’s begun to read the woman fairly well himself.
Rogan Jones: Ever since Eva, Vincent’s known all too well the insidious risk that comes from nursing hatred in one’s heart. It’s the root of all evil, a sentiment to be feared more than any other. And yet he’s hard-pressed finding another word to describe his feelings towards Rogan Jones, his organization, and all of the people connected to and supporting of him. It may not have been the leader of the psychic organization who personally messed with his mind, but Vincent has no doubt that Rogan must be aware. After-all, the hand does not work without the head knowing what its doing. And for that, he wants to make the man pay. It’s not vengeance, Vincent tells himself - it’s a lesson in humility that must be learned. If Rogan doesn’t know what it feels like to be manipulated, it’s high-time he find out.
Victoria Argent: Eva was never too fond of humans, always considering them to be the dimwitted and untalented version of a witch. There were few exceptions to her passive contempt, one of them being the Argent Matriarch. Victoria didn’t hide her own contempt of all things supernatural - nor did she downplay her pride in being an active member of the Hunter’s Guild in New Orleans. Still, the women rubbed elbows in the workplace; one as a teacher at St. Aloysius, the other as an academic advisor. Of course, he thinks now, she was drawn to a woman with cold eyes and even colder blood. He never learned the extent of their relationship, but he suspects it was oddly amicable enough considering Victoria has asked about Eva several times over the last few years - questions he’s done well at avoiding. He wonders how long that can last before the teacher gets suspicious.
Sophie Deveraux: Ever since the Harvest and his meeting with Marcel, Vincent feels like he has a better understanding - and even some sympathy for the vampire tyrant. That doesn’t mean he blames Sophie for what happened though. He understands her hands were tied, just like his own hands were tied when it came to betraying Eva and giving up on their marriage. Even though they weren’t part of the same Coven, he remembers the Deveraux family from annual events where they’d all get together for festivals, conferences, or celebrations. He understands what it’s like to lose a loved one, and the temptation to do anything it took in order to get them back. He would’ve done the same in her shoes, and he relates to her loss of faith with regards to their respective Covens and the practice of magic that comes with them. Because of that, Vincent wants to reach out and help the troubled witch, and if possible - protect her from the forces that would see her dead.
Also mentioned in the following bios: Finn Mikaelson,
Plot Teasers:
While magic is lost for all witches of ancestral descent, Vincent is also left without a way of dampening his connection to Finn Mikaelson. Part of him is grateful for that, because it denies the vampire any connection to his magic - but the other part of him is terrified, because it leaves only Finn’s true nature trickling through their mutual bond... And the cravings for blood are getting stronger.
While Vincent is convinced that the focal-point to his vengeance on the AS must be Rogan, he is, in fact, mistaken. Another force is responsible, and it lies in the background, waiting to reveal its cards...
On the soundtrack of his life: Arrival of the Birds & Transformation - The Cinematic Orchestra (x)

  Amélie-Marin Bennett Morrell  ⚜  Witch (Emissary/Siphoner)  ⚜  33  ⚜                                                    ⚜  The Enigma  ⚜  ISTJ  ⚜
Red in the morning…
Amélie-Marin can’t say she had a hard childhood. Her mother, Sheila, was never the most affectionate woman, but she had her own ways of making her daughters feel loved. Her older sister Abigail was a flighty thing, always relying on her sister’s steady and calming presence to anchor her when the storms of life would roll through. Though she was the youngest, Amélie-Marin was aware of the way her sister relied on her. She didn’t begrudge Abigail this, especially when she was able to see the ways that their mother treated them differently. It wasn’t necessarily favoritism, but more of an awareness that Amélie-Marin’s limits outstretched those of her older sister by a great margin. She expected different things from the both of them accordingly.
     {I am of blood and of bones and of heart and of head.}
The Bennett witches have always had a special relationship to magic. But not all of them have had the unique gift that Amélie possesses. She is a siphoner; a witch who possesses no magic of her own, but is able to absorb and utilize the power of other witches. Initially derided and discriminated against even in their own communities, siphoners evolved into the members of a Coven who commanded the most respect, aside from the Regent. Because no matter how powerful a witch could become within the Coven, a siphoner could always take away that magic or redirect it if it was ill-used. And so, the feared and coveted role of the Emissary was born. Emissaries straddle the lines between their coven and the magic they use, the gatekeepers for how and why magic may be accessed. For the New Orleans coven, this has meant communion with the ancestors, living as much among the dead, as the living. But not all covens need ancestors to use magic. And  When she left the Crescent City, secretly itching for something new, something less tedious than a life of being dependable, Amélie said goodbye to her mother and sister, and she thinks a part of her knew it would be her last.
When Amélie-Marin met Jennifer, she found that her entire world had shifted. Loving Jen wasn’t harmony, it was complete and utter chaos. The serenity Amélie-Marin had made her own stood no chance in the face of Jen’s volatility, her intoxicating vitality. Jennifer taught her that the ancestors needn’t always call the shots. The line Amélie-Marin had straddled for so long, one foot with the living, one with the dead, wasn’t the only place for her. The demanding dead could instead be used, taken from in the moment between life and death. Sacrifice. If the coven straddled that line, their emissary’s place had to be somewhere else entirely, fully in the land of the living, bringing them back from the edge of death when they had ventured too close.
But abusing the ancestors in this way had a price. Indeed, her premonition came true. She was disowned, cast out by her people, her ancestors, her mother. Still, She had a new coven, one that didn’t ask for acceptance but demanded it. She had a coven that gave her back as much as it asked of her, she had a lover that could shake away the calm that endlessly clung to her. She thought, perhaps, she had found her place in life. But then she learned that Jennifer had another lover. Finally, the calm she had felt her entire life made way for the storm, and she unleashed it, all too happily.
                                                                           … Heed this warning.
The damage she caused the coven was inexcusable, and she can own up to that. In doing what she did, she forfeit her right to act as emissary, and found herself for the first time without a family or a coven. It’s been five years of wandering, searching, learning, and finally, Marin, as she goes by now, thinks she may be able to return to the city that was once her home. She hasn’t decided how she feels about it, just that it is a necessity. With her mother having passed, and her niece left to her own defenses, Marin can watch from afar, safely behind her blanket of tranquility, untouchable by and lingering pain she may feel stirred back to the surface by nostalgia. Anchor to no one, and emissary to no coven, Marin can return on her own terms, with her own goals in mind.
Web of Connections
Bonnie Bennett: The last time she saw Bonnie, she was seven, and Marin was supposedly off to college. She’s not sure that she regrets not being a bigger part of her niece’s life, but if there’s a time to make up for it, it’ll be now. Besides, Marin’s learned many things over the years, and she’d rather give that knowledge to Bonnie freely, rather than have her pay the kinds of prices Marin has had to.
Jennifer Blake: Marin wasn’t prepared for the intensity of Jennifer, or the torrent of feeling Jen awakened within her. Their affair was the kind that left a person gasping for air, and Marin grew addicted. Quitting her cold turkey was a shock, but Marin has learned since then not to take her natural tendency toward reflection and circumspection for granted.
Kali Talwar: Kali is the woman Jennifer chose over her, the woman Jennifer loved before her. The one that made her the other woman. Marin knows the wolf is in the Bayou, in the city she once called home, but she refuses to give this knowledge power over her. She is more than anger or heartbreak, her waters run deeper than that. Still, she’s not sure how she’ll react if the wolf crosses her path.
Lydia Martin: The Martin girl is marked with death. Marin knows its touch intimately, and can see the way it has claimed the girl for its own. Strangely though, it seems not to have been done lustfully, with the hungriness one usually can sense with death, but rather with an almost tender fondness. Marin is content to keep an eye on her, but she thinks, should Death come to New Orleans, it will not come for this girl, but with her.
Damon Salvatore: No one was more surprised than Marin when Damon came to her for help, though he’d never call it that. He prefers the terminology of brokerage. Marin is happy to call it what it is though. She’ll help Damon, make sure he has what he needs, keep his brother in dark. But there will be a price, and Damon will be good for it, whether he can afford it or not.
She has also been mentioned in the following bios: Stefan Salvatore, Gia Talwar, Rain St. Agnes
Plot Teasers:
Marin prides herself on her uncanny control–over herself, over her circumstances, and over the people around her. That control will one day slip, however, and Marin may not be able to pick up the pieces as gracefully this time.
The ancestors have turned their back on Marin, just as she turned her back on them. That doesn’t mean they haven’t been keeping their eye on her, though. Marin thinks she’s found a way to make Death serve her, but the French Quarter belongs to the ancestors, and they will have what they are due.
On the soundtrack of her life: Eagle Song-  The Staves (x)
FC: Bianca Lawson, negotiable.
Fortunately for you, Amélie-Marin is  O P E N!

Evelyn Jones  ⚜  Human  ⚜  30  ⚜  The Trophy Wife  ⚜  INTP
AS LOST AS ALICE…
Evelyn has always lived the white picket-fence life. She grew up in the pristine suburbs of LA, to a librarian and a prison warden; an unusual pairing that nonetheless complimented each other very well. Dotted on excessively by her father (who was gentle and loving despite his grim choice of career), Evelyn and managed to charm her way out of any situation. Mostly she used that charm of hers to make friends; for if there was one fear that haunted her above anything else, it was the fear of being alone.
The only thing Evelyn knew how to wield as well as her charm was a paint-brush. Over the course of her childhood she graduated from petty finger-paints to big, bold, abstract oil paintings. She chased that passion all the way to UCLA - enrolling in their famous arts program. It was there that she met Rogan. Evelyn couldn’t count how many times she’d attempted to capture Rogan in a painting or a drawing once they started dating. There was something utterly captivating about him. She soon learned that what made him such an anomaly was his gift. When Rogan had first revealed the nature of his paranormal talents to her, Evelyn’s instinctive reaction was to laugh in disbelief. Yet to her surprise, it was real; like figuring out that you were dating Superman. Eventually, Evelyn realized that she’d developed a passion for Rogan too, and this time, her ardent sentiments dragged them all the way to the altar four years later.
  {You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.}
It was only after three years of marriage that Evelyn realized how incredibly dull the white picket fence life really was. They say that behind every great man, there is a woman. And Evelyn supposes that to an extent, that saying applied to her too, but she never found it empowering. The reality was that she was nothing more than a trophy wife. An accessory who hung off of Rogan’s arm when he took his seat as the new head of the Arcane Society (a secret organization devoted to other psychics like him), and cut the red ribbon in his honor when he opened the new Arcane Museum. Gone was the man she’d fallen in love with; all but married to his career now. So much so that Evelyn had become uncharacteristically jealous. The Jones family had been rather welcoming when she’d come into the family by marriage; but given that every single one of them was gifted with one paranormal talent or another, she felt like a fish out of water in their midst. Gone too was her artistic mojo. Instead of creating art, Evelyn now collected it, and then auctioned it off for the Arcane Society Charity Trust - to elites who were willing to pay lavishly for them. And when she wasn’t playing the part of a socialite, Evelyn spent her time filling the void her husband had created in her heart through excessive shopping. Everything had changed. Many a days she found herself staring back at her reflection in the mirror only to find that she could hardly recognize the blonde staring back at her.
… AND AS MAD AS THE HATTER.
Three weeks ago, Evelyn discovered that she was pregnant. She has yet to tell Rogan, and she figures she’s got some time yet since her bun hasn’t quite begun showing yet. They’d drifted so far apart despite living under the same roof, she didn’t know how to tell him exactly. Besides, she wasn’t sure that either of them were ready to have a child. If this child was born, she was convinced it’d face neglect from Rogan too. And yet she couldn’t find it in herself to give up on her own flesh and blood either. It doesn’t help that something unusual started happening the week that her morning sickness set in. Along with the nausea came horrifying nightmares, extreme spasms of pain in the pit of her stomach and hallucinations, even in broad daylight. To add the cherry on top of a nightmarish sundae, Evelyn is now convinced that she’s slowly going mad…
WEB OF CONNECTIONS
Alaric Saltzman: If a rose by any other name is still a rose, then Alaric was and still is the Zave Jones she’d known since coming into the Jones’ family. Alaric may have been her husband’s right hand man but in him, she found a kindred spirit. Someone who could relate to knowing what it’s like to be normal in a highly “gifted” family. And despite coming into his own powers, she is surprised to find that he’s kept that humbleness about it.
Lydia Martin: Evelyn worked with Carol Lockwood on several occasions curating art pieces that could be auctioned off at numerous events. Somewhere along the way, Evelyn grew accustomed to the the company of her clever daughter, Lydia, as well. The discovery that Lydia harboured a hidden talent for artwork was a pleasant surprise. Evelyn can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia since she’s met the spitfire redhead. She too was like that once; someone who painted and indulged in her art with reckless abandon. She has since then often spent time trying to encourage Lydia to pursue her passions. But on one occasion the young red-head came to Evelyn brandishing a rather dark masterpiece that she claimed was something that came to her in a dream. The painting depicted a woman with blond features not unlike her own who harboured a something dark inside of her that looked an awful lot like a baby. The harrowing image has since been burned into Evelyn’s own mind and added to her nightmares.
John Alden: The way she’d come into John’s acquaintance was a peculiar affair indeed. She was out; on one of those morning strolls since regular light exercise was prescribed to her. Her sickness happened to be particularly nasty that day, the nausea so strong she’d choked out blood as well as vomit. It was John who’d found her hunched over a garbage-can at sunrise. She was grateful for his help. But since that day, she’s run into him several times while on her morning strolls. For some peculiar reason, John was convinced that she’d been hexed, and took it upon himself to keep a watchful eye over her. Often he gives her a knowing look; as if he too, knew her secret.
Vic Kuyavar-Kloeckler: Evelyn met Tajim and Vic when she and Rogan welcomed the couple to the city by taking them out to dinner. Rogan always took new Society members under his wing at first. He and Tajim were quickly wrapped up in a world of their own, talking experiments and innovation -, things that went way over Evelyn’s head. Vic took pity on her, and suprisingly, she found him incredibly easy to talk to. He, too, can relate to feeling on the outside of all this… Psychic mess. It’s nice to have someone who understands. They’ve met for lunch a few times, and Evelyn finds herself longing to confide in him the more intimate troubles of her marriage. She feels that if anyone could understand, it would be Vic.
Mercy Lewis:  When Evelyn was a little girl, her parents often left her in the care of their neighbour, Roseanne Lewis. The Ross (her maiden name) and Lewis families had been acquaintances since before she was even born. Roseanne, as Evelyn remembers, told the most captivating bedtime stories. And when Evelyn reached her own teenage years, she returned the favour by babysitting Roseanne’s two little children, Mercy and Merit. But after Roseanne’s tragic death, Evelyn had distanced herself - stuck in a spiral of her own grief and the start of a new life with Rogan. Recently, she’d noticed that Mercy seemed darker, lonelier - a problem teen. Merit, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found. She thought many times about engaging Mercy in a conversation, but she didn’t know where to start - she felt she was to blame for having not been around to support the Lewis’ at the time of their greatest need. She was debating asking Rogan to let her take Mercy on as a part-time helper at the museum. But before she could enact her plan, she learned from John that Mercy was dead. Now, all a grieving Evelyn can do, is try to find out more, although John doesn’t seem willing to spill.
Evelyn has also been mentioned in the following bios: Gia Talwar, Jaxon Whittemore,  Rogan Jones,
PLOT TEASERS:
Evelyn will find that she won’t be able to keep her little secret under wraps for much longer.
Through her exposure to Mercy and John, Evelyn will learn that there’s a lot more out there than humans with psychic abilities - and even greater reason to be so afraid.
