So, having binge-watched all eight episodes of Fallout on Prime...

On the upside, as an adaption that uses the world of Fallout to tell a story, it's great, it's fab. I love the show, don't get me wrong...but... Making it canon to Fallout itself? That's a big no, it literally fucked over the West Coast lore. If they wanted it canon to the games, then it would have been better if it was set around Illinois. From what we know, it's hinted that the Enclave still has a presence there, at least according to ED-E's companion quest with the recordings from Chicago. BoS could have been sent there to deal with it, little bit of cooperation between West Coat BoS and East Coast BoS would have been nice to see as 4 implies that the Citadel and Lost Hills are in contact. Outside of the games there was mention of a BoS chapter in Chicago as well, so there's a potential plot point. Could have mentioned the West Coast, with hints at the situation there leaving things open-ended in regards to New Vegas; Mojave region is unstable, and lost contact with the Mojave chapter of the BoS. Could bring up the issues in the NCR that were brought up by Chief Hanlon etc. It's not a bad show, the story so far is good, but the setting is just a no from me. It makes it appear that Obsidian and Interplay are hated by Bethesda.

so i've been replaying new vegas lately, mostly because i miss my legion!courier, and it got me thinking... what if Deacon from FO4 is actually a former frumentarius? i mean... it kinda fits. i just need to think why he'd defect from the legion, how he got to the east coast, met bet barbara, and then joined the railroad... personally if deacon is/was a frumentarious, i can see him joining the railroad as a way to atone for his time in the legion. so many ideas i have in my head. it could also be a fun AU to explore. I'd write it myself but i can't write for shit. if anyone wants to explore this AU, poke me~
