For historical stuff, bloodletting. Whumpee is already unwell, and now they’re all lightheaded and dizzy from being bled by a doctor.
SO CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED! :( medical whump are just ✨superior✨ — wish I thought about this sooner, but thank you for bringing it to my attention 😌. especially because you can still apply it in the modern setting for your writing!
maybe whumper has a thing for old medical methods.
maybe whumper want to experiment it on whumpee.
or maybe the situation calls for the method to be used on whumpee in order to save or to heal them.
the possibilities are endless. added to my personal list of whump prompts for my writing about my blorbos!
for those who are unfamiliar with the terms; bloodletting, or therapeutic phlebotomy, is, quote, ❝the withdrawal of blood from a patient to prevent or cure illness and disease. bloodletting, whether by a physician or by leeches, was based on an ancient system of medicine in which blood and other bodily fluids were regarded as 'humours' that had to remain in proper balance to maintain health,❞. Additional comment from the submitter: ❝I know most people have more than one Blorbo, some may be male, some may be female, etc. So answer the one that is the majority of your Blorbos; if most (or all) of them are male, vote male — if most (or all) of them are female, vote female. Or if most (or all) of them are nonbinary, vote that. I chose not to include the 50/50 or both option because I’d like to know in which direction people tend to find a character ‘Blorbo Material’ in terms of gender.❞

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
