I do love the image of Frank happening to be in the bodega while Barnaby is there. And Howdy cracking up at Barnaby’s jokes as usual. That is until he notices Frank there and knows he’s just not going to find any of it funny. Still, Barnaby cracks another joke which gets a chuckle out of Howdy and Howdy just glances at Frank as if to say, “Go on, laugh!” But he doesn’t, and the grin on Howdy’s face strains with an internal frustration at Frank’s refusal to laugh. Eventually his face says something more like “I will kick you out of this shop myself if you don’t laugh :)” and Frank finally offers a sort of chortle, a pity laugh maybe
And Howdy let’s him leave with his needed groceries (because if Frank hadn’t finally done anything, he would’ve been asked to leave as Howdy has better and funnier customers to take care of)
A hyperrealistic cockroach would scare me too, if I were Frank. It scared me as me! I wasn’t expecting to see that little guy scurrying around on the website.
