The Chimney rapes Buck fic looks like it's been reposted, and it looks like they've deleted a ton of tags to make people think it's just a "regular" rape fic where a random OC rapes him. I haven't looked at it this time, but it's got the same title, and it's anonymously posted. All the same rape/non con tags are there, but nothing about Chimney.

How many people on your team are people of color? I find it hard to trust what is being said without knowing if these conversations you’re having involve POC voices at the front.

There are several people who have access to this blog who are POC and their voices, and those of people we asked to go through the list, without blog access, took precedence over anyone else involved.

Looks like Lotte15 was on the list before and now is not. If this is really about justice, the apology for putting them on in the first place, or the explanation for taking them off, needs to be as big as the call out.

We do not and will not apologize for putting them on the list in the first place. They have, however, been removed as they have deleted the stories and apologized.

There was no need to bring attention to it, it does not change the past but we felt it was important not to continue to call someone out who is apparently taking responsibility and trying to do better. They remain on our personal lists.

'passive aggressive' a/n aside, can you explain to me why galahadsgurl remains on this list? y'all listed spite fic as the sole reason, except the spite fic does not read racist to me as a black man. not all stories feature every character. and as eddie is poc, i don't understand your reasons here. i admit i am still working through their stuff, but what ive read doesnt read as racist and is fairly diverse with povs from poc, lgbtq, poly and the like. i would appreciate further understanding, as their listing here feels personal and not based in the text. which, by your own admission, is important to you and those that run your blog.

Hence why ”racist stories” is not specified as a reason. They remain on the list because they took serious discussions about racism in fandom and turned it into a (self admitted) petty spite story in which their A\N read that all the discussions meant that they, as a white person, is only allowed to write about white people. They then tagged people, including POC, to antagonize the situation even further.

I'm trying to understand by going into each account on this list to see the content but I'm confused by 1 right away cause I follow that fic. justnickisfine writes a Jonah/Buck story where Chimney's canon actions have been briefly mentioned. He did punch Buck. To me it was wrong. But Chim was also so stressed out. How is that racist? Not trying to make more work for you but how do I understand without some context explanation?

The context of those stories co-written with ByTheBry is why we have specified both of them on the list away from discussions outside of fic.

They continually bash Hen and Chimney, insisting that it is just “unfriendly” but there is this constant insistence that Hen and Chimney are ”bad” and need to repent for their canon actions (which apparently in Hen’s case is a one liner of her saying she would go with Chimney), pairing this alongside the removal of Jonah’s canon actions for shipping purposes is why we added both to the list.

Alongside their support for racism in fandom, their support of Bythia’s defense of her own racism, the desire to vilify two POC in Hen and Chimney and holding them accountable for anything they say or do whilst stripping Jonah, a white character, of everything that makes him canon, there was agreement amongst the group of us that this was enough to have that as a reason on the list.

We do think it is important to stress that your own judgement should also be applied. We are not immune to personal judgement, no matter how many of us cast our eyes over the list.

As of really recently, AO3 has enabled a blocking function that prevents certain users from commenting on your stories, this does not stop them from seeing them. You can find how to do this using this.

Just because something is anti, it does not necessarily make it racist. The list could have been a lot longer but we did not want to invalidate any discussions by pointing fingers at every bashing fic.

I am not completely certain, the coding itself is very simple CSS so that might work to your advantage. Its definitely worth the try, I believe the } will separate out the code.

Block List

Please note that these are the people who have consistently and unapologetically written and supported racism in this fandom. It is not an exhaustive list but we felt it important to focus on obvious examples of racism displayed on AO3, keeping our personal opinions on anti character stories out of it. 

This isn’t a list designed for the purpose of lowering ourselves to their level by bullying via the comment section. Education is important and how you treat this list is personal to you but our recommendation is filtering them out to curate your own AO3 experience until AO3 allows for a full blocking function. 

Fandom should be a safe space for everyone and whilst we wish that discussions over the last week had been enough to make everyone that has been called out, self-reflect on their own views and why they feel so entitled to write the kind of stories they do, it has not. 

Filtering out stories/writers is personal to everyone but those listed below are those fully agreed upon as a group as being the most extreme and overt examples of racism in this fandom. For those we are able to locate, the Tumblr blogs are included but for blocking purposes only, we do not encourage any attacking, it does nothing but further aids their conviction that they are the victims in these discussions. 

We will also be publishing a separate anonymous works list that can be filtered using the same skin.

I am not surprised to see @idreamofbuddie / @snorlaxishere in the comments. I would recommend blocking them, too. Their constant support of racism in stories and encouragement of it is disturbing, to say the least.

Honestly, at this point, after discussing it, would not recommend people click on it or engage in any conversation with this person. The attention is clearly what they want and it's shameful.

This blog has been created to keep track of block lists and writers and stories that need to be called out for the abhorrent level of racism within the 9-1-1 fandom.

The aim is to create a space where members of the fandom can go to know who to block, who to avoid or what stories to avoid. This blog will not include our personal opinions, though research will be done prior to calling anyone out. We will however reblog other peoples opinions.

If you have any fics to avoid or writers and bloggers who have shown themselves to be racist, let us know.

Please note that we do not want the intention of this blog to get away from us and therefore will no longer be answering argumentative asks. We also want people to be aware that this is not going to be somewhere to go to when a fic is disliked. Sometimes bashing fics are just bashing and whilst annoying and hurtful at times, they are not necessarily coming from a place of racism. The line is a difficult one to get right and we are working hard in the background to stop our personal preferences and opinions getting in the way. We all get things wrong sometimes and now that high emotions are starting to lower, we want to keep this on track.

This blog will be used only for obvious and extreme depictions of racism in this fandom, only. Personal dislikes and opinions will stay out of this.

I do understand that racism is an issue that needs to be combated, but the Ana Flores bashing fics I’ve read have nothing to do with her race and only to do with her ableism. How are you going to differentiate between fics that display racism, and fics that display ableism??

Hi, this question has been discussed privately as we try to figure out the best answer. Ana is going to be a difficult character to approach but we do have a small list where the writers in the A/N have made it clear that it has nothing to do with her ableism, though most, if not all, would fall more under misogyny if we are honest.

So, it is definitely one we are trying to figure out and if we cannot come to a clear final opinion we all agree on, none of that will be included.

Whilst down the rabbit hole of collating some information beyond the last few months, we cannot believe we left this out:

Perhaps one of the most prominent displays of racism in this fandom: Maddie and Chimney die, Buck takes custody of Jee-Yun and renames her Morgan Hanna Jennifer because the writer didn’t understand why anyone with ”normal” names would call their child Jee-Yun. There is also triggering mentions of suicide with Chimney being blamed for it. The list could continue.

It’s tagged with not Chimney friendly and not Hen friendly.

The work is anon now, whether that has been done recently as they knew their time was coming, we aren’t sure but lucky for them, we keep records.

When are we going to start to see lists of the authors who write racist fics about Ana Flores and Ramon Diaz?

Send them over, either the fic or the writer! This isn’t just limited to Chimney and Eddie, those are just the most prominent ones we have seen recently. Please if there is anything you see or have seen that needs to be called out regardless of whether they are a main character or not, we are more than happy to look.

We are actually working on a post that separates out the block list by characters portrayed. So anything you can send to help with that would be greatly appreciated.
