About the previous post,

I would like to put up a notice that japanese people culturally do not like leaks. The announcement I made has not been officially released. Because this is a majority english-speaking platform (who are fine with leaks on the most part, or even thrive from leaks), I won't remove the post. But please do note not to spread leaks where japanese shippers are present.

(The reason for this post is that I got a scolding by some of the japanese perfworldshippers today for leaking them some things out of enthusiasm. Perhaps Prof Sycamore was right, we do indeed meet people with many ways of thinking)

Both Lysandre and Professor Sycamore are confirmed to be in Pokemon Masters for the "Give and Take" event on Feb 11 2021! Lysandre will have Yveltal and Sycamore will have Xerneas. (Sycamore will be a free unit but Lysandre isn't so please save up gems!)

Also, it feels good for perfectworldshipping to be revived... sort of. Not many ships are lucky for such things to happen.

A Perfectworldshipper’s List of Things to do

Generation 6, together with Pokemon XY, has almost come to a close to make way for Pokemon SM and Generation 7. The only thing we have left is Pokemon Generations before we wait for Pokemon XY sequels or remakes.

You probably won’t see any Pokemon X and Y content for a long while, which means that there isn’t any perfectworldshipping evidence to keep this ship sailing in the long run, unless something completely unexpected and magical happens.

Hence, I have created a master post to prevent you from getting bored during this wait.

A LIST OF THINGS TO DO

There’s a playlist full of perfectworldshipping MMD (LINK HERE). If you don’t know what MMD (MikuMikuDance) is, it’s basically adding motions to character models to make them move. In this playlist, Professor Sycamore and Lysandre can be seen dancing and doing weird things in general.

For Pixiv, you will need to sign up for an account if you want to look are NSFW/18+ work. You have to click on the pictures twice if you want to see the full gallery. The number of pictures in each gallery is indicated at the top right hand corner of each picture when looking at the overall tag

what is going on???

i opened my regular bookmark and like 6 pages of the stories are gone?? is it just my device?

I can’t confirm this, but I really, really want to believe that the abandoned subway where Clemont and Bonnie befriended Bunnelby, as shown in XY087 (“A Train Revisited! Citron and Horubee!”/”A Trip Down Memory Train!”), is based on an actual place.

Since Lumoise City/Kalos is more-or-less the Pokemon universe’s equivalent to Paris/France, the most obvious place to start drawing parallels with the Lumoise City subway system is the Paris Metro– and as it turns out, there there are several “ghost” stations in various states of use, reuse, and abandonment to be found throughout the city. I will admit, though, there is something a tad unromantic about those fluorescent lights (particularly when viewed next to the old-timey lamps shown briefly in the anime—those are lovely!), so that doesn’t seem to “fit” as much as one would think.

Perhaps a more likely source of inspiration is Le Petite Ceinture (“The Little Belt”). This is an abandoned railroad that was designed to circle Paris waaay back in the 1850s, and sections of track were variously designated for military, freight, and passenger use (the passenger section was electrified in 1925 and plans were in place to convert certain sections of it into a tramway relatively recently, but the T3 was built instead). The passenger line has been closed since 1985 and access to the tracks is generally forbidden, but there are several entry points to the tunnels and bridges (both hidden and in plain sight) and the penalty for getting caught is a relatively trivial fine, so many people still explore it and marvel at the greenery (I mean, it’s gorgeous– just look at it!).

Now, comparing to screenshots from XY087, it doesn’t look like this was used directly as a reference by the background artists, so I’m only offering up conjecture here. Still, it remains an interesting little tidbit (well, to me, anyway!) that this sort of thing really exists—though in a city as old as Lumoise City Paris, perhaps it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise!

And last but not least, I used Archie’s given height and now have a similar situation to the so-called “canon” height chart from over a year ago that almost everyone on Tumblr accepted without question. Er, what can I say about this one…? Yeah, this one just doesn’t work at all. AZ is not standing at his canon height, Lysandre is at average male height, and the others are extremely short. 

So, all in all. The models aren’t scaled and therefor inaccurate. You can all thank me later.

And here’s this month’s Coronis XY summary, along with some news:

Sycamore is seen waiting for the kids on the Sundial (I’m not sure why he feels the need to climb on top of it. He does have safety belts and wires though). Several things we see:

he is only accompanied by Squirtle. No sure if the omission of Bulbasaur is deliberate

like how Sundials are supposed to work, its shadow reaches the Gym at exactly 6pm as it should

using some wave-manometer, Sycamore confirms that the Sundial give off a certain pulse wave which is strongest between 8pm and 9pm

He is startled by a flock of Spritzees who are in turn startled by Zygarde, who is seen lurking behind the Sundial on the sea surface (it’s not seen in subsequent panels though. It dove into the water?)

At the Lost Hotel, Green has let the kids go off on their own to meet Sycamore, but this infuriates Ramon since the kids may be in danger. Green mocks that they have an enemy (Essentia) who can shapeshift, and she may very well be among them. Ramon doesn’t like what Green implies, but Green says he is just stating a possibility. Mainly, he believes that nowhere is technically safe for the kids, and he would rather they seek important information from Sycamore. He has lent them Charizard and Rhyperior to accompany them, and we get the confirmation that Green is one of the 17 disciples of Gurkinn. The Vaniville kids go through Dendemille Town and then Route 17 under the protection of Charizard and Rhyperior, and Salame and Rhyrhy are amused to see their final evolution counterparts. Charizard and Rhyperior part ways with the group upon arrival at Anistar though, and presumably return to Green. The kids soon see Sycamore attacked by a flock of Hawluchas on the Sundial (he is bouncing up and down while being suspended on the safety belt wire). Y frees him with Absol (Solsol)’s Psycho Cut, and catches him (and his manometer) with her other team members. X sends out Pinsir (Rute) and we see that it can dodge the 4 Hawlucha’s attacks even with its eyes closed. It is X’s other 4 who took down the Hawluchas though. Sycamore does some more explaining:

when X battled him at his lab, his wave manometer picked up a certain wave, which he now knows comes from the Keystone, which also explains why Team Flare can track them

the Sundial also gives off a wave, which means it is of similar material to the Keystone

ever since the Ultimate Weapon bloomed, it has changed the wavelength of both the Sundial and Keystones, causing them to become synchronized. However, this also makes him unable to track the wave coming from X’s Keystone anymore (it appears that Sycamore was able to track the kids’ locations and confirm his suspicion when Trevor holo-casts him)

the Sundial’s wave surge at 8-9pm remains unchanged, and he has arranged their particular waiting time to experiment its effect

Sharp at 8pm, X and Y’s Keystones start to flash, and this flash in turns lights up the Mega Stones of Kanga, Elec and Lasma. Naturally, X and Sycamore work out that this would be a good method to seek out the Absolite and Pinsirite. X has his concerns however, since he can tell that someone is commanding the Hawluchas. He hopes Y wouldn’t blame him for breaking their ‘Pact’ again, and proceeds to hand her his Mega Ring. He wishes to stay behind to protect Sycamore while Y goes to seek out the Mega Stones. However, Tierno volunteers to do it instead, since they don’t know who is commanding these attackers and it is better if Y stays behind too. He isn’t concerned about Team Flare because as Sycamore said, they could no longer trace the Keystone’s wavelength with it changed after the Ultimate Weapon blooming. Shauna decides to go too, and X and Y both hand them their Rings. Meanwhile, Essentia is spying on them on the other side of the Sundial (clearly being the one to command the Hawluchas), and thinks it is a good chance to snatch the Keystones. However, her current mission is to track Z, which is seen near Anistar. Suddenly, her system goes ‘offline’ and Emma wakes up, alarmed that she has wandered off somewhere unknown again while she sleeps. The system then reactivates the hypnosis and Essentia kicks in again. At that moment, she is spotted by Y, and we have another cliffhanger…

INTERESTING FINDS [Part 4] - The similarities in colour between things

Today we’ll be doing some colour/feature comparisons. All of the pictures are taken from their official websites (like pokemon.jp) because some photos from other sources may have been edited to look more vibrant (by increasing the saturation level), which won’t make this comparison accurate. (I’m not going to talk much here. I’ll let the pictures do the explaining.)

The only exceptions will be screenshots from the anime/games etc for those without an official art yet.

I’ll start with Lysandre first.

I’ve picked out several (random) colours from the art and placed them beside the character art if you want to do some colour comparison.

I’m not sure if it’s just me but the game art looks redder than the anime one. This brings out an interesting question. What colour does Team Flare/Lysandre represent?

In the TCG, Team Flare cards are red. In the games. In the games, Lysandre has loves red, as one NPC says, “Lysandre loves the color red, so even he even made his café red. His dialogue box is even red. Team Flare’s uniform is blood orange in colour though.

Anyway, here is the colour comparison between Yveltal and Lysandre. I’ve mashed Yveltal’s colour palette with Lysandre’s for easier comparison. The column of colours on the left belongs to Yveltal while the ones on the right belong to Lysandre.

The only things that link Lysandre and Yveltal together will be the somewhat-similar colour scheme and the fluffy collars both have.

It does seem like the link between Xerneas and Professor Sycamore is much stronger than that of Lysandre’s and Yveltal’s.

Besides the similar colour scheme that they both have, their features are somewhat similar too. I have indicated some of these similarities on the picture above.

GREEN- Huge dark-blue collar

RED- Grey lower body

PURPLE- That yellow thing?

ORANGE- Dark blue upper-body.

During the summer camp arc in the Pokemon anime, the Professor is seen wearing…these clothes. What’s interesting is that those clothes have a similar colour scheme to that of a shiny Xerneas (in it’s unawakened mode).

4- Dark blue feet/shoes

Why then, is he wearing an orange shirt? If they did not meet in the anime until Mega Evolution Special Act IV, then Sycamore’s orange shirt would not be related to Team Flare. When the artists first thought of Professor’s Sycamore summer outfit, why did they use orange instead of blue? Isn’t blue a much better match for his light blue jacket than orange?

When I first watched the summer camp arc and saw that orange shirt, I went all giggly and imagined that he must have borrowed it from Lysandre ( seeing that he only owns blue-related clothes), or he could be an admin. The picture above is most likely invalid now, sadly. 

What’s even more surprising is that Malva’s colour scheme matches Yveltal’s more than Lysandre’s. And….

1- Matching diamond patterns.

2-Yveltal’s body is ½ red, ½ black. Malva’s pants is ½ red, ½ black.

Conclusion: My head hurts. What is Gamefreak trying to do

Okay so I haven’t actually seen TSME Act IV yet, but from what I’ve absorbed through dashboard osmosis, it seems that Alain has revealed another important facet of mega evolution: Being united with your pokemon towards a common goal. (In his case, both he and Charizard want to Win against every other mega evolution.)

This is interesting, because, before this, when Alain asked Professor Sycamore about mega evolution, Sycamore said that the trainer’s role was simply to draw out the hidden power from their pokemon. Like, the way I remember it, he and his team were operating under the assumption that the trainer was only passively involved in the act of mega evolution (by having that strong bond with their pokemon and touching their keystone), instead of actively involved (by being invested in the same interests and end goals as their pokemon and putting forth just as much effort to achieve them).

Not only does this show that Alain is learning useful things from his experience outside Sycamore Labs (and not just struggling to be a functioning human being), but it also says something about how both Alain and Sycamore view their roles as trainers.

Sycamore’s theory (at the time that Alain questioned him in the conservatory) was that, well, if you were friendly enough towards your pokemon, and you had the proper stones, you might be able to unlock their true potential. This theory assumes that the entire burden of mega evolution is on the pokemon (which might explain why game!Sycamore was hesitant to pursue mega evolution in the Tower of Mastery) and reduces the trainer’s role in the process to a glorified button-presser.

Which basically amounts to ‘If I’m nice, you might be willing to put in twice as much work for me’ – and that’s… really sad??
