i just saw a prompt on the dash that said “i hope you die. i hope we both die” and oh my god that sums up how antoinette feels as a victor, long before even the rebellion kicks off. every year since her ‘victory’ when she has to mentor more and more before their death in the arena and she is simply sick of it, to the extent that she will openly prepare them for their inevitable deaths instead of potential victories. THEN the rebellion kicks off and still she is firm in the belief that it would be easier if they all were dead and not be subjected to more pain and destruction and torture.
