Maelia, she/her, bi-oriented aroace. This is a side blog for fandom things (currently mostly Teen Wolf Thiam, but also still Maze Runner Newtmas and its Stiles/Newt-like OC variation).
I watched each movie right after reading the corresponding book. I usually hate it when things are changed for a movie but in this case I thought they actually improved several things (and I'm grateful they cut some things that would have been horrible to watch).
Watch the deleted scenes too if you can because there's one with Newt and Thomas they really should have kept.
And then of course also watch the third movie, which is great even if they didn't change one thing we wish had never happen (although they did change how it happened and made it a very good scene).
TMR Book vs Movie shock
As a book maze runner fan who only read the books. I will admit I was a bit shocked watching The Scorch Trials today. Like don't get me wrong it's not a bad movie. It's just different. Like it made me question if I even read the books, lol. Like I was so confuzzled when Brenda wasn't immune and how Winston died, and by all the changes made in that movie. And not gonna lie, I'm one of those people who get a bit mad when movies don't match up at least mainly like the books, but ngl I was kinda hooked. It feels like re-experiencing the maze runner.
**********************************************
But trust me if you've only watched the movies..read the books because there are many things the movies did not capture. And even though the main thing, a group of kids trynna escape wicked, happens. And even though some of the main parts of the characters happen. It feels like the two are somehow different. Like they go about it in different ways. And it's so cool because it shows that...sometimes it's like other dimensions. Like what could happen in another universe with the same shit, but done differently. Like the Spiderman movies. How it's all the same characters just different plot same story. It's kinda cool tbh.
Thinking about the fact that in the last ep of TW when Monroe was defeated, all the canon couples were seen together.
We saw every single one:
-Morey in the hospital
-Stydia and Scalia in the library
-even Jackson and Ethan in the locker room.
So it’s interesting to me that the directors and writers really decided to show Theo and Liam together too, when they could’ve easily shown Liam by himself talking into the radio.
Why show Theo standing behind him?
It’s just more proof that they were meant to a canon couple idc what anyone says.
Or Theo just has "the emotional range of a teaspoon" while Liam has that of a whole pan (a big one with boiling content always threatening to spill out, of course). 😉
Joke aside, what do you mean? That everyone hears the line wrong (and the subtitles are wrong too)? Genuine question. It's an interesting topic.
I think Liam has a tendency to turn fear into anger like I do with sadness (because crying is humiliating, it seems I find it easier to get angry at whoever is ruining my day, be it the author of a story in which a character I like dies or a person giving me bad news) but if that's what Theo was supposed to mean, it was phrased very unclearly, so... I don't know.
You know that Thiam scene where Theo and Liam are talking inside the car? I'm definitely convinced that Theo was saying that you can feel more than one emotion at a time so Liam can feel both Anger and Fear and that when he has Fear he gets Angry because he's afraid that he might lose control
dylan and khylin talking about the elevator scene and how theo and liam should have kissed in the finale (and then interrogating michael about his favorite thiam scene)
can you say what they are saying in the video i cannot hear it :(
yeah the video has captions but they’re not completely accurate throughout the video.
the video is this one from bhf2 con a few days ago where dylan khylin and michael talk about thiam:
KHYLIN: But then you guys were real close to each other-
DYLAN: Yeah we almost kissed!
KHYLIN: And you guys were saying aggressive things like “I’m not gonna save you” or-
DYLAN: I’m not gonna save you!
KHYLIN: Yeah something something. They looked like they were about to kiss and I was like “these men are about to kiss right now they’re not-“ and then they didn’t and I was like [makes disappointed face] I shipped them from that moment.
[AUDIENCE CHEERING]
DYLAN: We should’ve just kissed.
KHYLIN: Y’all should’ve.
DYLAN: We probably could’ve.
KHYLIN: Yeah you probably could’ve.
DYLAN: [They could have] made a whole show off of it.
KHYLIN: [unclear what he says here but sounds like “end” or “and”] bloopers!
DYLAN: Bloopers?
KHYLIN: Yeah you could’ve [unclear what he says here] bloopers.
DYLAN: Oh. Oh! like just done it anyway-
KHYLIN: Just made out.
DYLAN: Yeah [has a pensive look on his face]. No I meant they should’ve just wrote it in the script.
DYLAN: But yes that’s true we could’ve just went for it.
[DYLAN SHAKES HIS HEAD IN REGRET FOR WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN THEN MICHAEL STARTS TO SAY SOMETHING AND KHYLIN AND DYLAN BOTH TURN TO HIM]
MICHAEL: So favorite Theo moment?
DYLAN: Thiam.
MICHAEL: Oh! [SLOWLY] Thiam.
DYLAN: You’re like “what are you talking about?”
[DYLAN SHIFTS HIS WHOLE BODY IN THE CHAIR TO FULLY FACE MICHAEL]
MICHAEL: Umm I don’t remember all those moments.
[DYLAN SLAMS HIS FIST ONTO THE CHAIRS ARMREST AND THE AUDIENCE LAUGHS]
MICHAEL: But every moment was special.
KHYLIN: Yeah, yeah!
[DYLAN TURNS TOWARDS THE AUDIENCE AND SMIRKS AND NODS]
Thanks to my sister who's currently at the BHF2 convention in Paris, I can now inform you that Dylan's favorite "Thiam scenes" are the one with the keys (love it too, so funny!) and when they fight at the zoo (an obvious one too). Or at least those are the two he thought of when asked today.
