Has seeing Jesse around so much restored your hope a little in an Upstead happy ending?
I am as I have always been in that regard: hoping for the best, prepared for the worst.
This is just a practice that has served me well over the years especially with a showrunner like Gwen (cough* looking at you Jason Rothenberg* cough).

Have we ever found out Hailey's age? I've a few different answers out there and now I'm just confused.
I think I've broken this down before, but I'm too lazy to find it.
To my recollection, they've never given Hailey or anyone else on the team a specific date of birth other than Erin and Kim.
For Erin, we know they were preparing to celebrate her 30th Birthday in 2x20, which aired in late April 2015. Ergo, Erin was born in April-ish 1985.
Kim, they gave a glimpse of her medical/personnel file or something in an episode in season 4(? I think), which gave her birth year 1988 (and I also believe gave her middle name as Rebecca). But that's it. We got nothing on anyone else.
The only thing to keep in mind when trying to figure out her age on the show is that Hailey could not have become a cop before she turned 21. The minimum age requirement to enter the Police Academy is 21. You can sit the pre-required testing at 20, but you can't start anything else until you are 21.
Under the cut because this got long.
For me—always, but especially after 9x13—Hailey having a birthday later than extremely early 1991 is impossible. And even 1991 honestly is a stretch to me. I tend to go with 1990 as her DOB, I think it just fits all the info that we've been given over the years the best.
Here's my evidence
4x21: We have a firm date here, February 9, 2003. That's when Hailey's family's restaurant got robbed, and that's when she met Trudy; Trudy is why she became a cop. Great! I think this date is what gets retconned later; more on that in a bit.
Chicago Med 5x04 the Infections crossover: When Hailey is in quarantine with Amanda, she talks about the robbery and Trudy being her inspiration for being a cop. She says she was 12 years old when the restaurant was robbed. Since, up to this point, we know this occurred in Feb 2003, 1990 is likely and early 1991 is reasonable but not as probable. Again, we know this age gets retconned later; hold tight on it for a second.
Until 8x11, these things were canon and solidly put Hailey's birthday falling between February 10, 1990, and February 9, 1991 (how much would it have sucked if the robbery was on her birthday?!?). Statistically, it favours her being born in 1990.
From here, we enter retcon territory.
8x11: This episode aired in 2021 and screws up the previous canon. Here, Hailey said she's been a cop for 12 years. This makes a 1990 or later birthday impossible. Because 2021-12+2009. Meaning the latest she could have been born was late March/very early April 1989, and assumes she became a cop right when she was 21 years old. Making 1988 (or earlier) more probable.
However, 9x13 both corrected 8x11 and then screwed more things up. BUT! Because how long Hailey had been on the job is now a plot point in the episode, it's a lot safer from being retconned, and what has to inform her age because we a specific age she has to have been at the start of her career.
9x13: They celebrate Hailey's 10 years of being a cop. This episode aired in 2022. To be a cop for 10 years when this episode aired in late Feb 2022, Hailey can be born no later than late Feb 1991 and again favours 1990 (or earlier) as her year of birth.
9x13 is also where the robbery comes back into play. She told Kevin she was 10 when it happened. Given everything else we get in this episode that firms up that a DOB no later than Feb 1991 is possible one of two things happened with the robbery date:
1) She misspoke (unlikely IMO given how imprinted that event likely is on her.) You can apply the same logic to 8x11 if you want.
2) They've retconned when the robbery happened shifting it earlier (2000/2001 ish). Given that February 2003 hasn't been mentioned again since 4x21 and really wasn't the main point of that scene, this is more likely.
So, if you're looking to give Hailey's age for something that is in line with the current canon of the show, She's 33 to 34 years old. You could go for a couple years older as well fairly easily, but anything younger than 33 doesn't fit the info they've given us.

Thoughts on Jon being at the Wrap Party?
I have two.
One it was nothing, pretty sure Jon lives in Chicago, at least some of the time, we know he’s still friendly and supportive of the cast. So maybe he just swung by to celebrate with Tracy on her departure.
Two Antonio is coming back and we get a scene similar to the end of season 6 in Criminal Minds when we found out JJ was coming back. Voight’s in his office, at a diner, etc, talking to someone about joining, and then the camera pulls out and it’s revealed to be Antonio.
However if Bojana is also sticking around I do t know how the team is going to do a functioning alcoholic and a recovering drug addict, there’s just too much similarity and I doubt they’ll ignore the drama of a relapse story given half the chance.

Weird questions: You're tall right? Do you fit in a bed without your feet hanging off?
Yup you win the prize for strangest question of the week (out side of the weird Hailey haters that just get deleted).
Yes I am tall, 6'5". And it depends on the bed. I have a California King and do fit. Technically I fit in a King too, by like half an inch, but that assumes my head is right at the very edge of the top of the mattress, so Cali King it is.

Thoughts on the new hire for PD?
I like the actress, not enough to stick around next season, but I’ve enjoyed shows Bojana has been in before like Instinct.
As to the character I don’t mind her. Functional alcoholic isn’t really something they’ve done before, not like this anyway, so for those who stick around it could be an interesting storyline to explore.

Since you were originally an AoS blog are you a comic book fan? Marvel or DC? And do you have a favorite comic or superhero?
I am a massive comic book fan.
While I am generally Marvel over DC, three of my top five are from DC: Green Arrow, Nightwing and Black Canary (Gambit and Daredevil round out the rest). Top fave is forever Green Arrow.

What do you think it means that they were filming in Upton’s apartment in 11x12?
Do we have actual confirmation of this? Or is this just based on the pic of Jesse on the bed? Because that doesn't necessarily mean they filmed there.
Studio sets are weird with their layouts. I remember one where you opened the door to the "locker room," but it actually led to one of the characters' apartments. People would chill in there because there was more space and more comfortable seats. And it really does seem like Jesse take the opportunity to lay down on stuff when and where he can. Who can blame him really.
If they filmed there, then it means exactly that at this point. It could be good, bad, or completely inconsequential. We don't know at this point. We have nothing to go on with where they're taking Hailey's story. We only know that Tracy didn't renew her contract for seasons past this one. Who knows, maybe they'll do another Vanessa and Hailey's there in the finale with no indication of anything, then poof, she's gone in the premiere and not mentioned at all ever again.

What would something like “2 red to the local trauma hospital,” mean?
That two people have been transported to a hosptial with a trauma centre with serious life threatening injuries.
Any time you hear colours in a dispatch notice think of the mass casualty tag system.
Green = minor injuries; bumps, bruises, maybe a couple stitches or a minor concussion. You do need treatment, but you can also wait. and you will, even if you're brought in by an ambo.
Yellow = serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Broken bones, larger wounds, you are/have been/or fell unconscious, etc. You're going to be seen pretty quick, but mostly so the docs know how long you can wait before being treated, so they can deal with the more critical.
Red = serious, life-threatening injuries. Your injuries are way more survivable than not, but you need immediate medical intervention to make that happen.

What are some of the biggest myths/lies/whatnots about the Olympics?
Oh god, so many. Here are two off the top of my head.
1. That "The Games are not political." What a crock of shit! But it's the IOC's favourite line whenever they're asked or worried about protests of varying political natures at the Games.
2 (And this is only because I saw an article on his release that said this again). That absolute pissant Oscar Pistorius was NOT the first Paralympian to compete in the Olympic Games. He was the first runner, I'll give him that because I have to, but he was not the first, Neroli Fairhall of New Zealand was. Hell, he wasn't even the first South African to do both. Natalie du Toit was in 2008; she carried the flag in the opening ceremonies for South Africa at both.

Based on the current episode (11x08) and the conversations and the ending scene, what are your top 3 theories about how it will end for Hailey?
Ehh, TBH this episode was more about establishing Jo as a character using Hailey as a catalyst to do so, than it was about planting the seeds for Hailey’s departure. I think we’ll - hopefully - have those seeds more firmly sown in 11x10. So I don’t think these are going to be too different from other theories that have been out there for a while now.
1: Hailey’s going to leave to become a profiler of sorts. Either legit, who knows maybe the FBI is still trying to recruit her, or a quasi-profiler like Jo currently is, and she goes off to another unit in CPD or elsewhere. I do think Hailey and her “profiling” is going to be instrumental in taking down the serial killer that we know is going to be the crux of the Finale.
2: Jay comes back, they agree to leave Chicago together. Maybe we’ll find out to where, maybe Seattle, maybe Virginia, or in a weird out there dream Boston (been rewatching Rizzoli and Isles lately blame that)but it’s kind of left in the air about what she’ll be doing, other than leaving with Jay.
2.5: A combo of theory 1 and 2. She’s going to the FBI to become a legit profiler and Jay is going with her, maybe as FBI SWAT or something.
3: Not actually going to into any detail because it’s a dark theory, just know a dark theory exists in my mind, and has since her departure was co firmed, because I have absolutely zero trust in Gwen.

When do you think Tracy and Marina will go on that girls trip to Miami that Marina mentioned in an interview?
🤷🏼‍♂️
They could have been already and just not posted about it. It could happen after filming is done. Maybe they switched it out for that stay cation they did around Tracy’s birthday. Who knows?

I know better than to ask what your worst call ever was, but what about the stupidest?
Oh man that’s a long list. What kind of stupid do you want?
How about the mom who wanted a cute photo of her toddlers in a boat. Which she untied from the dock and pushed them out on into…well let’s just say it’s a pretty Great Lake. They didn’t have paddles (and they were like 3 so not a lot of good even if they did), and she didn’t have hold of the rope.
Then you have the dude who stuck a lit firework down his pants, that was a good one. Are you still eligible for a Darwin Award if it’s a non-Fatal removal from the gene pool?
The genius who wanted to know what would happen if he wrapped a chainsaw chain around his arm and had friends pull on each side?
The classic texting and waking at the same time? Lots of those ones, several of which involve stairs, one of which involves a man whole.

I totally understand what you mean about Tracy and the beard giggles…but he had a long one this summer & she didn’t seem to mind, so you really think she’d make him trim this one?

I am also someone who is confused about what Tracy has to do with it, 🤷‍♀️. Especially if it's not about looks.
And again, I say:
You. Sweet. Summer. Child.
Go have someone else explain to you why a *potential* (because maybe that's your hangup in all of this) Significant Other, would have...concerns about the length of her partner's facial hair.

What would Tracy have to do with him trimming his beard? What are other reasons he might shave his facial hair if not for Jay?
Oh, you sweet summer child. If you don't know what I meant by that, I'm not gonna be the one to explain it to you; someone else can bit that bullet.
All I'll say it that it has nothing to do with how she thinks it looks.
As to other reasons why he would shave: Most guys learn, through trial and error, what their ideal beard length is. This is true in both feel and look, but we're mostly going to stick to looks for this.
Someone like Paddy or Laroyce could probably rock a big-ass lumberjack beard if they really wanted. Easily. But Jesse, yeah he's not one of those guys. Sorry. I'm not either, as much as I wish I was.
We've seen him with a beard longer than his usual half-inch or so...if you actually thought that looked good, then I got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
For guys like Jesse, and I have to include myself in that, any more than half, maybe 3/4 an inch, just doesn't look good. It doesn't matter how good care we take of it, all the tricks, all the brushing, the oils, or tinctures we use. The facial hair itself is either too thin, or the pattern of growth is, or a combo of both. And you just get a scraggly, often greasy-looking mess.
So you accept that, and when you're beard is getting to the point of too long, again by personal fell or by the look, you trim it back. Either all the way to the quick or leaving a bit of stubble behind.
I'm not saying he didn't trim his beard because he's appearing; I'm just saying, for me as someone who has to shave their face, it's the weakest evidence you could present.
