Bird no. 698. Hawk?
.
I am familiar with regular backyard birds, but identifying them when you don鈥檛 already know what they are can be a real challenge. I hate to say it, but some birds all look the same to me 馃槅
.
Try as I might, I can鈥檛 tell what kind of hawk is living around here and I鈥檝e seen it twice now. I wish it would just tell me 馃ぃ (at Watson Lake, Yukon Territory)

Another trip to a local park. I took a few photos of the little sparrows and chickadees before I decided it would be fun to capture them on video. ( I already shared some of the video).
As I was walking back toward the parking lot I was pretty happy with my outing for that morning, but still lamenting in my mind how in 4 years of coming here, I had still not seen one owl even though I heard they were around this particular park. Then lo and behold, there sat an owl staring right at me. He was sitting in a tree right on the main pathway in the clear where I saw a few groups of people walk right under him without noticing him. I waited till the coast was clear and got in a couple of shots before he sadly flew off.
