Possible outcome 1: Somebody comes close to you or asks what that sound was. You've found the werewolf.

Possible outcome 2: no werewolves but dogs come to you and you can pet dogs!! Who doesnt like to pet dogs????

so since lydia represented the audience’s pov while gerard talked about the maid of gevaudan i’m going to assume that, in the story, marie jeanne looked like the spitting image of allison not because of her unnaturally strong genes surviving so many generations, but because in her mind, lydia couldn’t see this skilled archer, this beautiful and determined wolf-hunting heroine, as anyone else but allison argent, the only girl lydia knew who was all those things and more, and so that is what we saw as well
