{✏️}: Elliott’s handshake was firm, yet the smile that accompanied it was warm. He was a tall man, his features defined and hair pristine, and yet he seemed to have a glow about him that radiated a welcoming softness.

Breaking their contact, the writer folded his hands neatly behind his back, “Ah, a wanderer! A burning passion for adventure, or perhaps simply not ready for sedimentary life? I can respect that.”

Turning once more towards the vast open sea, he took in a slow breath, letting it out in another deep sigh. He wondered what life may have been like, had he settled elsewhere, had he wandered.

“I do, though I haven’t long. My cabin is just behind us.” gesturing towards the shore, the man drew his attention to a tiny shack settled in the sand, its wooden walls showing their age. Its look felt mismatched when held against the seemingly high-class dress of the writer. Could there possibly be another cabin nearby?

{{️⚡}}: Well. She certainly wasn’t the type of girl to settle down, so in a way, Elliott was right. Ophelia gave a nod, and a bit of a hum, rocking on her feet,  battered sneakers displacing a bit of sand as she did.

The young woman leaned over slightly, to get a look at the cabin. Yes, the modest little shack was a bit of a surprise, but far be it from her to judge him on his sleeping arrangements. It was still better than what she had.

“Cute,” she commented, throwing a little grin at the fancy man before her. “Looks like a good place to camp out. I oughta find me a place like that at some point.” She stretched, glancing around, from the water to the sky and everything in between. “Haven’t really decided where I’m staying yet. I’m that new. Any suggestions?”

{{⚡️}}: “Well... something like that.” The reply was a bit cryptic, but the pale, scrawny, rather tall young woman said it with a smile. She paused, before meeting the handshake with one of her own.

“Ophelia. I did just get here. But I don’t exactly live here. Not in the permanent sense. I kinda move around a lot.”

She adjusted the straps on her backpack, breaking her gaze from the ocean’s dark waters in order to address her single source of company. One hand ran over her messy black hair, pushing it back from her eyes. “And you? You live around here? Uh... wherever here is?”

OKAY SO I get a lot of personal comfort from plots/aus/stories that fall under the “sick(fic)” or “hurt/comfort” categories. Because of this, I’ve had this self-indulgent IZ AU for a few years now that I’ve been calling the “FrankenPAK” AU. It’s mostly just for me, but I thought that I’d post it here anyways!

The TLDR version is this;

● Zim experiences PAK overheats, usually resulting from extremely high emotion, but sometimes randomly as a result of his defective programming

● One of these overheats happen during a call to the Tallest, and Zim is unable to hide it from them, outing himself as defective

● The Tallest trick him into downloading what they call a “patch”, that is supposed to fix the overheating, but it instead causes the PAK to overload and explode

● Dib, now 21 years old, finds Zim in his base, unconscious, with a severely damaged PAK, barely hanging onto life. He takes him back to his house on the outskirts of town (he doesn’t live with his Dad anymore), and does his best to get the PAK into working order again

● The “FrankenPAK is able to keep Zim alive, but it’s far from up to IRKEN standard, and leaves Zim chronically ill and with back pain. The severity of both fluctuates (he can be relatively fine one day, and really sick the next)

● Ends up moving in with Dib, who does regular maintenance on the PAK and tries to keep Zim comfortable and keep his spirits up. THIS IS A ZADR AU

I couldn’t hold back anymore, and just had to make an adoptables batch for my Gaian Spirits species! I had so much fun making these guys, and I am especially attached to 80’s Arcade, so I hope they all go to good homes! If they get a good response, I will definitely make more in the future!
