random-type challenge) Dragon/Electric Genesect
Genestrike
The most crucial part of Genesect's makeover was to preserve the big gun. I could've taken the Blastoise approach, but I wanted instead to make it an organic part of Genestrike's body. Does it have to make sense? No, this is Pokemon.
It's also a landshark now. But quadrupedal so as to not overshadow Garchomp with how much cooler Genestrike is.

155) Genestrike, the Predator Pokemon
Unable to find any more living members of this prehistoric entity, researchers have declared Genestrike to be the last of its kind. A ruthless hunter, it used shock blasts to stun its prey.
This Pokemon's near extinction is attributed to the faulty organ that charges Genestrike's electric cannon, which has a high possibility of backfiring.

random-type challenge) Poison/Steel Meloetta
Paladietta
Meloetta already had an ideal body shape for affixing some steel armor to, and a noxious poison leakage makes a suitable replacement for its iconic sheet music "hair". Overall, design-wise this one took barely any thought.
As to why I didn't create an alternate Pirouette Forme with a different secondary-typing:
I was looking over the list of Unova legendaries(not including Victini, which I had already done long before), and realized that between the 12 of them, the 18 types could be distributed without overlap. So I "cheated" the randomness a little to spread them out.
This meant that Meloetta's alternate forme had Poison/Normal as its typing, but that's so weak compared to Poison/Steel, so I opted to scrap it.

154) Paladietta, the Fairy Hunter Pokemon
This artificial Pokemon was engineered by a disgruntled Dragon Tamer as a counter against the fairy-type. However, Paladietta has a major flaw where it is constantly leaking poison everywhere.
To prevent its extreme toxicity from causing problems, Paladietta has been locked away. This doesn't stop Collectors from attempting to steal this one-of-a-kind Pokemon.

random-type challenge) Ice/Grass (and Grass/Ice) Imprisoned Keldeo and Liberated Keldeo.
Kelpriror
Following from the transformation of the Swords of Justice into the ghosts of A Christmas Carol, you would've expected Keldeo to also embody a ghost from the story, and the initial idea was indeed that it would represent Marley, the first ghost.
But then I got this exact visual and the type switching gimmick stuck in my head and I had to make it a reality. I still managed to tie it back to the three Ghosts with the pokedex entry, so it all works out without needing to all be a direct reference.

153) Liberated Kelpriror, the Hope Pokemon
Kelpriror returning to the world is a symbol of hope and change, as even its very steps can turn the most barren of wastelands green and thriving once more.
It is also cold as ice when it comes to those who destroy the environment, and Kelpriror will ruthlessly hunt down evildoers to dispense punishment in equal measure to their misdeeds.

153) Imprisoned Kelpriror, The Hope Pokemon
To prevent its power from being used by evil people, Kelpriror freezes itself in an unbreakable stasis. Only a trainer with a pure heart can hope to defrost Kelpriror.
After confronting and overcoming the three Spirits of Time and purifying your faults, and by facing yourself in the mirrored surface holding Kelpriror you can both be freed to make the world a better place, together.

random-type challenge) The Tao Trio
Fighting/Ground Reshiram
Fighting/Fairy Zekrom
Fighting/Flying Kyurem
Reshiram gave me the most trouble of these three, as I simply did not know how to start approaching them. The vague Fighting-type as a substitute for the commanding dragon-type doesn't exactly inspire creativity.
I didn't have a grand plan, so I resorted to just sketching Reshiram over and over while distilling its concept down into its two new typings. And luckily, the idea turned out great and inspired the direction the other two would take.
Since they are no longer dragons, I decided to design them with these contrasting concepts, following Black Reshiram's final design.
Thus, Reshiram is reptilian, Zekrom is mammalian(?), and Kyurem is avian.
While a white albino lizard might have suited the subterranean version of Reshiram, I didn't want to make the extremely fairy Zekrom black. So I swapped their iconic colors.
Am I going to give Kyurem new forms based on fusing with the other two legendaries? I don't see a reason to.

152) Gray Kyurem, the Skywatcher Pokemon
It flies without rest to track down its mortal enemy Delugus, using the powerful gusts from its wings to tear apart the Storm Pokemon's destructive rainclouds.
Its terrifying appearance strikes fear into those people who see it, so Kyurem prefers to remain concealed high above the clouds.

151) White Zekrom, the Purifying Pokemon
Its voluminous fur radiates with the heat of the sun as it engages in battle against its demonic rival Netherus, fighting relentlessly to purge the Ruin Pokemon's darkness from the world.
Zekrom can gather sunlight in its armored claws, storing it to release later in brilliant flashes in the darkest of times.

150) Black Reshiram, the Subterranean Pokemon
Its lithe shape and digging claws are expertly suited to pursuing its eternal rival Crystarus through the tunnels the Depths Pokemon carves in the bowels of the earth.
Having never seen the sun or even the surface, Reshiram knows of nothing other than its primal desire to protect the world below.

What is the fighting type Cryogonal based on?
That's a good question!
It's not based on any specific creature, but more on the concept of keeping your balance and focus while performing martial arts.
And also a flail!
I wanted to preserve the general shape of Cryogonal, which is lacking any sort of limbs with which to fight, so the idea is that Fighting!Cryogonal has to use its whole body as a weapon. Balancing on its tail serves as the "handle", letting it build up momentum to fling itself around.
