Evaluation
At the end of this project, I think that I have followed my brief by creating something that reflects this well. My magazine has all the elements that I said it would. I do wish however that I had managed my time better as I would have liked to have more interviews with audience members however a lot of my friends were too busy handing in their uni assignments to answer them for me. This project has also really helped me to develop my skills in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

These are my final pages I feel like there is not too much to say about them as there is not too much going on. i thought it would be nice to have a plain page for the end of my magazine though as some of my other pages were quite wordy. I feel as if it brings a nice close to it.

These pages were both made in the same way. I think that the pages could have been split up a bit more with images as they have quite a lot of text which looks unappealing. However, I feel as if an interview should not be spread over a lot of pages.

I really like the look of the Reading and Leeds article page. It is simple but my use of the paint tool has added a nice feel of dimension to the page, as I made the doodles go above and under the crumpled piece of paper with text on it.

My three gig reviews all have a similar layout. They have been made in the same way as my other pages apart from the Post-it note which I made in Illustrator. I like how these pages look I tried to lay them out all slightly differently so that they were more visually interesting however when I look at them now I think it might look a bit messy. Although, an unorganised layout feels more like my scrapbook layout inspiration.

The first page of this spread was made mainly by using the text tool. I added the image with the orange border. I thought I would leave this page a bit more simplistic compared to my other ones for some variation but I wish I did add more detail to this page as it looks quite plain compared to my other pages.
The second page was made by using the paintbrush tool to add the doodles in the background on one page and I used the fill tool to fill in some sections. I then added the image of the crumpled paper and on top of that, I used the text tool to add the tour dates. I added the image and created the border. I really like how this page looks, I think that all the elements come together really well.

This spread from my magazine displays images of audiences at a concert and a title page. To create these pages I added a border to the images and used the paint tool to create the doodles.
On the second page, i used the shape tool to create a box that I then filled in with orange. i then added the image on top.
I like how the first two pages look together, with the contrast of the doodles and the block of colour. I also like the contrast in the second two with the different types of doodles.

The first-page spread is the contents page. on this page, I used the paintbrush tool to add the doodles in the background on one page and used the fill tool to fill in some sections. then copied it so I could flip it for the other page. I then added the image of the crumpled paper and on top of that, I used the text tool to add the heading and the contents.
I like the look of this page I think that it is visually interesting but also simplistic. i like how the crumpled paper contrasts with the plain white background.

This is the front and back cover of my magazine. To make this I used the paintbrush tool in Photoshop to add the doodles in the background. then added the images, after adding the images I added the orange border to them. Finally, I used copy and paste to put in the logo that I had previously created in another document.
I'm not too keen on my front and back cover as the images do not feel as if they are of high enough quality to be on the front and back cover. Although I like the simplistic design.

This then expands the outline of the image. Then I clicked back onto the background layer. Then selected the paint bucket fill tool. Finally clicking inside the outline area which fills it with the colour. I decided to do this with my images as I thought it makes the images feel like a sticker and I want my magazine to have a handcrafted/ scrapbook feel to it.

Creating an outline on images
In my magazine, i have added images that have an outline on them in my branding colours. To do this I first put the image into Photoshop.

These are the initial ideas I had for the theme of my magazine. I knew I wanted to do something based on music. So that is where I started with my ideas. My first idea was to do my magazine based on how music impacts fashion. Then I thought about doing a magazine for music promotion for a small artist but I decided against this idea as my friends who do make music were too busy to be available for photo shoots and interviews. Then coming off from this idea I made my final decision to create a magazine about the audience's perspective on live music.

I created a branding page to display what I am going to use across my magazine. I have shown which fonts I will use for the logos and headings as well as for the body text. I have also displayed what colours I will be using in my branding which I decided on from my research of what colours I would like to use. I also show the logo that I have created from the options I designed.

On this page, i have displayed different layout ideas that I like. I was inspired by layouts that look like they are from a scrapbook and the pieces have been taken by hand and put together. This is the feeling that I wanted to portray through out my magazine.

After deciding on my favourite 2 colour options I used them to create different logos and explore which colours look best. I decided on the black and white option as it is simple and looks clean.
