“ it’s alright, ted, ” jude’s head rests in her free hand, glossy eyes looking up at her friend. “ time flies when you’re having fun… ” she tries to wink, but her eyelids were already growing heavy. her other hand was scrolling mindlessly through the storyboards for the animation. “ ramen would be great. but if you need to finish more, i really don’t mind, really-” she continues. she knows the pain of being on a tight deadline; she’d finished up the final draft of her screenplay in a week. luckily she was happy with it in the end. “–i don’t mind,–” her stomach GRUMBLES. “ okay, yeah. let’s grab ramen. ”
♡ —— “ ah, it’s-- ” ted. the way she ( yes, her specifically ) says it makes him laugh. “ i think i’ll be okay if we call it a night. you’ve done way too much anyway. ” rubbing his face, he flashed another tired smile and crossed to the door, grabbing their coats. “ c’mon jude, i’m wasting away over here. ” he croaked, holding his stomach dramatically and shakily pulling the door open. the cool air was a stark reminder that his life wasn’t just the warm bubble he’d created in the studio over the past hours. he was still awkward, and certainly no closer to jude than they began. “ i can’t believe you didn’t have anything going on tonight. ”
