Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt.6
Summary: There's a commotion at Helaena and Aegon's wedding but Aemond is there to keep you safe.
Requested: Fairly certain I came up with this one at first.
Warnings: None I think.
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5 / Part 6
Tumblr media
Helaena never wanted to be betrothed to Aegon. Let alone wed.
It was obvious from the number of times she'd cry herself to sleep at night while in the company of yourself and/or Aemond.
Everyone knew the habits of the eldest son of King Viserys.
A drunkard and the main customer of every brothel on the street of silk night after night.
You'd spent hours soothing the princess in the days coming up to the wedding while trying not to be dragged under from the stress of such a large event yourself.
Everywhere was buzzing.
The servants were preparing foods and decorations, the lords arriving from every kingdom in Westeros.
There was nearly no place for you to go to just relax away from the noise that filled the halls.
Luckily for you, Aemond was rather adept at scaring the high lords and visitors out of the library or gardens.
He and Helaena would sit by you in these areas for a few hours when they could.
They knew any little sound could cause headaches with all the stimulation.
They'd seen you go into a sensory overload before and it had scared them tremendously.
You had closed your eyes and refused to open, despite not being able to see in the first place.
You had covered your ears and fought to keep them there when Aemond had tried to peel your hands away to whisper comforts into your ear.
You'd even turned away from physical contact for a time.
All-in-all, it had worried the two of them tremendously and they'd paid greater attention to your being in stimulating situations ever since.
Aemond especially because he is the most smitten man in the history of the kingdoms and Old Valyria yet refuses to admit it, much to the exasperation of his older sister and mother who had come to like you over the years.
Anyways, moving on.
Naturally, you stuck with the royal family on the day of the wedding and remained seated with Aemond for the majority of it.
Aemond kept eyeing the dance floor, musing over whether or not he should ask if you wanted to go with him.
Perhaps when there weren't as many people crowding the area that may bump into you.
He was snapped out of his reverie as you stood from your seat and grasped onto your staff.
He goes to stand with you but you quickly tell him that you were just going to go check on Helaena and that you'd be back in a minute or so.
Aemond does sit down but he wishes that he didn't.
He should've expected something to happen.
Weddings in Westeros never end on a happy note.
He hears the commotion before he sees it but when he does he's on his feet and moving.
His instincts tell him to go to the centre of the fight and remove the threat but he stops a guard whose about to enter the fray.
Apparently, one of Aegon's whores got a little too involved with him and believed they had a right to marry him instead of Helaena.
Fuck.
There were assassins here for Helaena.
Fuck.
You were with Helaena.
He realises most people would have thought of the safety of their family first but Helaena is a princess with some of the best guards in the realm as do the rest of his family.
No harm would come to them.
As for you, however.
You may be close to Aemond and Helaena but in situations like these the royals are prioritised and then the nobles.
Being blind and being in an ambush is bad enough but if you were injured it would be unlikely that you were to receive care straight away.
You could be injured, bleeding out...or worse.
Aemond turns away from the main commotion and turns to where the assassins had been pushed back from, further into the red keep.
He scours the faces running past him and leaves no corpse unturned as morbid of a thought as that was.
He had to be sure.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Where were you?
With each passing second his anxiety raises.
If you hadn't gotten to Helaena in time then you'd be alone and defenceless.
If he could just get to you then everything would be okay.
He's trained by the best swordsmen in the kingdoms, if he can just get to you then he can protect the woman he - .
Cares for
Yeah, cause that was actually what he was thinking, you can't trick us Aemond.
His salvation comes in a glimpse of red.
A familiar shade of red.
Specifically, the red of the dress you were wearing, which he had gifted you for your last nameday.
Most know better than to get in his way but some knights and lords are forced to the ground as he ploughs through them with one thought on his mind.
He breaks through the last string of people blocking his way and all but lunges for you.
You must've been pushed to the ground by some twat during the initial commotion.
No one seemed to care about helping you up after that so you had stayed on the ground, covered your head and hoped they would at least try to avoid stampeding over you.
Aemond tries to cover you with his own body but people are still panicking and while they're pushing into him he can feel that he's starting to crush you instead of guard you.
He's tempted to swing around and dispatch the guests himself but that would mean taking his eye off of you.
Instead he urges you forward slightly along the ground and under a table that had not been upturned
He places a hand under the table edge to stop you from bumping your head on the wood before clambering under after you.
At this point you had already figured out who had grabbed you, being able to tell the planes of his body apart from a strangers and all.
He's gripping your hand and you can just barely feel his thighs grazing your legs as he moved to sit around you rather than opposite to you.
You had tucked you legs up so that your knees were just under your chin and Aemond had positioned you directly in front of him so that he could hold you close.
His arms are muscular from training but not bulky like what you'd been told most knights were.
Aemond was built for speed and endurance, as well as protection.
He rubs circles on your back with the palm of his hand and waits for the commotion to die down.
His other hand is gripping his sword tightly, just in case some idiot tries to get too close to you.
You never know who might be an enemy and Aemond isn't taking any chances when it comes to you.
He vaguely registers that you nuzzle your face into his neck and tighten your arms around him so leans his head on top of yours.
Hopefully, in all the chaos, no one will notice the two of you and make baseless rumours about your relationship.
Are they really baseless though?
Aemond knows he feels something for you, or rather he refuses to see it for what it is.
Aemond wasn't built for love.
He's not sure what he would do, or how he would act.
What he does know, however, is that if anything happens to you today, that he would first behead the person that hurt you and then lock himself away for the rest of his life.
He keeps his arm wrapped around you tightly even as the crowds die down.
It isn't until most of the guests had been ushered out that he draws himself from under the table, taking your hand to guide you out as well.
His mother was the first to spot the two of you and hurries over.
First she examines her son and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead before she turns to you and gently grasps your arms.
With a bit of resistance from Aemond who wouldn't let you go she brings you into her embrace and brings you over to Helaena.
Queen Alicent had grown to like you after seeing the exact affect that you had on her son.
Helaena sits you down next to her to calm down, she has her hands drawn over her ears despite the fact that there is no noise.
She doesn't seem rather concerned either, like she'd already known it was going to happen.
Aemond watches over the two of you like hawks and eventually he escorts you back to your chambers for the night.
An hour or so later he's woken from his light slumber as you clamber into his bed and on top of him before laying down on his chest, you must've used the secret tunnels he'd told you about.
Either way, he isn't complaining.
So it's been a while. I'm in the final year of high school/A-Levels (I literally just had mocks) so it's been very busy. I've got a lot of requests to try and get through so i'll be stopping taking them temporarily. You can message about ideas to add to this thread or some other ideas if you're desperate because the likelihood is that I'll hear it and then desperately try and find a way to add it or make a new fanfic because I love it too much tbh.

It’s been so long since I’ve been on here and I’m trying to get back into the rhythm of writing but I have mocks coming up so I’m not sure when I can actually start working on things longterm. I will be trying my best. In the meantime, I’m about to go into a rant on HOTD and the fan base. Specifically towards the die-hard black supporters who seem hell-bent on justifying every little war crime they do.
To be clear I DONT SUPPORT THE BLACKS OR THE GREENS. SO I WILL BE TRYING TO REMAIN AS UNBIASED AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT LETTING MORALS GET IN THE WAY TOO MUCH.
Both sides do horrible things during the war and you can argue that one side has a stronger claim than the other all you want. The lesser of two evils if you will.
But that’s all objectively viewing things.
I’ve read the books and though unreliable I know the main points that will be coming in the next seasons of the show. I will warn you now THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.
My first point is who should be on the Iron Throne. An extremely controversial topic. Personally I don’t think anyone in the show would be a good ruler, barring Jace perhaps. This includes Rhaenyra, Aegon, Aemond and Daemon. You name it.
I don’t think I need to explain with Aegon. He’s not suited, he lacks the ability to handle that stress. Not to mention horrendous actions towards women.
Aemond, now this is my speculation as he is my favourite character (Yes, even with Luke and all), would be good in politics and tradition. He’s smart, a warrior and respects religion however he would not be able to connect with the smallfolk in my opening so while to the higher ups he’d probably be great, he probably wouldn’t be very well liked by the people.
Now Rhaenyra, I’ll give some examples because this might be the most gruesome part for the die-hard black fans to read, if they haven’t already stopped when I mentioned Rhaenyra before (this might be a bit controversial I know). Rhaenyra was welcomed when she took the throne but it didn’t last. She understands politics to a degree but she has serious entitlement issues.
For example: She taxed the fuck out of the smallfolk and while they were starving in the streets what was she doing? Throwing feasts to celebrate her crowning and her child being named Prince of Dragonstone. You can imagine how scorned they must have felt, Rhaenyra was practically rubbing it in their faces. Not to mention there is a war going on.
Instead of ensuring her victory and place on the Iron Throne she let her vengeful streak take over. She had anyone she thought to be a traitor hung or beheaded and their corpses littered around and outside the Red Keep further estranging the smallfolk who, as Mysaria so beautifully put it give the crown their power.
But here’s the thing Rhaenyra doesn’t care about the smallfolk, it’s implied that she believed that to be beneath her and it does show. She stayed away in Dragonstone when she should’ve been securing her claim. Her absence could have allowed the Lords to change allegiances as well (of course not the Starks).
Not to mention the rumours that Rhaenyra had something to do with Halaena’s death. This may be wrong, Helaena could have thrown herself from the Red Keep, but it cannot be deemed until the show gets to that point.
I like Rhaenyra’s character, I understand why she does a lot of what she does but I will not condone them. I won’t justify them either, nor will I with Aegon, Aemond or Daemon.
Now my first instance. Rhaenys and the Dragonpit. This was not by any means a ‘Girl Boss’ moment. It looks cool and I love how it was done but it really goes to say something about Targaryen entitlement.
Rhaenys burst through the ground killing probably thousands of the smallfolk, roaring at her enemies with Meleys and then flying away. The Dragonpit has other entrances she could’ve gotten out another way and given Rhaenyra a heads up without revealing that she had escaped.
We see this entitlement when Aemond chases Lucerys and accidentally kills Lucerys. It was SO STUPID. Aemond thought that he could control Vhagar because he’s a Targaryen and look how that ended up. I say accident because it was but that doesn’t change anything Lucerys is still dead and know he’s going to have to deal with the fallout.
Blood and Cheese, the amount of people I have seen cheering this like saying ‘It was completely justified’ is astronomical. I can’t help but think about whether or not you should be in a mental hospital if you think the same thing.
In what realm of possibility does a Toddler, probably around 6, deserve to die? I would like someone to answer that question if they believe that he should’ve died in the way that he did. Because by saying it’s justified you’re saying that they deserved to die. These are the same people who will love the ‘A child shouldn’t pay for the sins of their parents’ trope but as soon as it suits their favourite characters it’s completely okay and great to watch. Now you may say, Rhaenyra had nothing to do with it. Which may be true in the books but the show is canon so only time will tell and as far as the books are concerned Rhaenyra had little remorse for what had happened.
This isn’t to say that Lucerys deserved to die because he absolutely didn’t. He deserved to be punished about the eye and Aemond as well about the comments (though I would argue that an eye is a lot more than enough of a punishment) but he did not deserve to die and while Aemond is one of my favourites and I don’t like/dislike Luke, I am going to miss him in the coming seasons because he was a very kind person and I would love to see how he’d progress in the Dance of the Dragons.
Daemon is not a good guy or grey character. He killed his first wife, an innocent, and choked Rhaenyra. He has affection for his family but it doesn’t stop him from doing cruel things. You don’t need to justify his actions, he’s there to make you think about your own morals. He’s not meant to make you feel comfortable when you see what he does. He’s there so that you can question his actions and his reasoning behind them. He’s a fascinating character to watch and my second favourite in the show. This also applies to Aemond btw but I think he’s a little more on the unhinged side compared to Daemon.
Now I think my final point will be that Rhaenyra is not a feminist. She could not care less what happens to other women as long as she is treated equally or better than men because of her position in the world. She’s not going out of her way to help people, she’s using her position to get one over on anyone she doesn’t like. She’s not like Daenerys, she doesn’t care about people who are suffering unless they are very close to her. The same also goes for Alicent but she leans more towards the religion aspect of it.
Okay, rant over. I haven’t checked this over so there could be typos
I’d love to hear your opinions about any of the events that have occurred within HOTD or will occur and if there’s anything you haven’t heard up there but would like me to explain just message me.

One of the more amusing sides in getting to know Ewan Mitchell is experiencing the difference of how his cast mates perceive him
HOTD Cast: Ewan is brilliant! - but also so gentle and kind and great to work with. Lovely guy all around 10/10.
TLK Cast: The man is basically a mysterious Eldritch being who probably trained as a Jedi. We've known him for literal years but also know nothing about him at the same time. He comes on set, does his work and then disappears into the night, only to manifest out of the forest the next day. Occasionally you'll find him in a corner muttering to himself. About what? Only the wind and the old gods know.

Could you please do an Aemond x reader x Helaena! Platonic. It could more focused more on the reader’s and Helaena’s friendship because I know my girl needs a bestieee. Like the reader is super sweet and shy but if it comes to defending her best friend the reader is not afraid to stand up to her which gets her. You can even add some things they like have fun sleepover, embroiderying bugs, the reader never getting bored of Helaena’s visions and always comforting her, the reader reading her favorite love stories to Helaena and overall just being there for each other as sisters by choice. Aemond instantly falling for the reader by her gentle touch and grace and just making it his job to protect you and his sister as you both are so precious angels.
I’m happy to say that I am now in the process of writing this piece! This is one of my earlier requests and I have so many to get through now😂.
I’ll get there eventually.

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt. 5
Summary: When the reader begins to worry about her looks and what others think of her, she goes to Aemond to get an answer. This one is a bit smaller compared to the others. Female reader.
Requested: This was requested anonymously, and I love the idea of adding a pinch of unintentional angst into the story. I still need to make a scenario where the reader can experience his more unhinged side towards others.
Warnings: Just unintentional angst on Aemond's part, he tries to make it better.
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5
Tumblr media
So, I imagine they're probably around 15 years old in this.
You had started wondering not so long ago about your appearance.
For someone like yourself it was only natural.
And you were coming to an age where many girls were flowering into women and were being wed.
You'd always known that your chances of being wed were slim at most.
I mean, who really wanted to marry a blind girl?
It simply wasn't in their best interests to do that.
But you still wondered if perhaps your appearance would be enough, if someone would look past that fact that you were blind if they found you attractive enough.
Which was one of the most hypocritical things about you because you constantly told Aemond that someone would love him for his personality rather than his appearance.
Someone loving you or choosing you for your personality never truly crossed your mind. How often did people marry for love and still benefit from it?
Not very often.
Over the time you spent pondering this you began to grow more and more worried about the prospects of it.
You'd overheard people considering asking your parents for your hand in marriage, but they'd always talked about your blindness as a hinderance.
It sounded vain to ask yourself but, were you attractive? Or just plain and ugly?
No one had ever said anything about your looks, so you really had no clue of knowing.
So, it was only natural that you went to the person who saw you the most. Aemond.
The two of you were sat in the royal library. A place you weren't really supposed to be as it was intended for the royal family only.
Clue is in the name.
But who was going to say no to Aemond One Eye?
No one.
So that's why you were the exception to the rule.
Aemond was reading a book about one of the wars between the kingdoms of Westeros. One from before the time of Aegon the Conqueror.
Much like Aemond you found the topic utterly intriguing, but your mind was still on your own problem at hand.
A sigh from you caused Aemond to stop midsentence and to carefully close the book but making sure to keep the page that the two of you were on.
'Is something the matter?'
'Nothing that it is not trivial.' You'd responded.
'Regardless of whether it is trivial, it is still bothering you, is it not?'
'I suppose so...Aemond, I have a question to ask? Now don't laugh because it's a bit bizarre.'
'I won't, I swear it'
So, you asked him.
Were you pretty?
And got no response in return.
It was confusing to you. Aemond always responded to your questions.
You'd taken his silence as him trying to save your feelings by not responding to the question, but it hurt none the less.
However, this was not truly the case.
The truth was that Aemond was simply stunned into silence.
He hadn't thought of the fact that you might not know just how attractive you were.
Aemond thought you were the prettiest, most beautiful woman to live.
Definitely the most stunning, in the Seven Kingdoms. It was obvious, wasn't it?
Well, that might've been his blossoming crush on you speaking out, but it changed nothing in his mind.
He'd thought that people would be complementing you on this basis since you were young, or younger.
To hear that people had, in fact. not was a shock
Before he could respond to you properly, you were already leaving the room.
He figured that going to find you straight away, without knowing the proper words to say, may only make it worse if he spoke out of term.
So, first, he went to Helaena for advice.
She hit him over head when she heard what he'd done.
Before hammering in the idea that if he thought you were attractive, that he should just complement you so.
She told him that it was okay for him to tell her how beautiful you were, especially if you were feeling so insecure about it.
He'd only spent around 20 minutes with Helaena before he went to your room, which was next to hers, to apologise for his response and tell you honestly.
As soon as you let him into the room, he brought up the conversation again.
He could clearly see that this insecurity of yours was beginning to truly affect you and was upset in himself for letting it fester for so long.
'In truth, I was shocked to hear you say such a thing. I was under the impression that many were already complementing you on the basis of your appearance. You are...astoundingly beautiful, and I'm truly sorry for allowing you to believe otherwise for however long you've been doubting yourself and for the 20 minutes that I have been separated from you. 'Twas not my intention to upset or offend you when I did not respond. I hope that you will forgive me for this. You must understand, however, that both myself and Helaena believe you to be positively stunning. I'm aware that many others are as well. Please do not allow this insecurity of yours to burden you any longer. You know that I would never lie to you on the basis of such things.'
At first, you'd asked Aemond why he was apologising as if he had done something so heinous, but he could see tears of gratitude beginning to form in your eyes.
Naturally, he pulled you in for a gentle hug after asking for permission (touch was an even more intimate thing when you couldn't see who was touching you) in the hopes of making you feel better about the situation.
He need not remind you a second time. You knew that Aemond would never lie to you about something like sight.
Something you would forever lack whether you liked it or not.
Initially you'd thought it was just Aemond being a good person, but Aemond saw it slightly differently in his mind.
Why should you be left in the dark about something that himself, and many others, can see so clearly?
He meant this about the world in general but also about what he saw in you.
A truly kind, generous, and beautiful person.
Another, kind-of, short one I'm afriad. I'm studying for the TSA IYKWIM

Hey! I love your blind reader x Aemond and was wondering if you would/are writing the request that were on part 4? If not that’s totally okay but I just loved those ideas so much!
Yes, I am! I’ll get around to writing them eventually and I have ideas up to Pt 10 ready. I’m currently writing pt 5 as I’m typing this. If you want anything else, I’m more than happy to add them to the list I have.
But yes! Everything listed in Pt 4 will be written at some point.
Pt 5 ( the one in writing) is based on number 3, where she’s worried about her looks. Pt 6 will be based on Aegon’s wedding. Pt 8 and Pt 10 will be, respectively, about Aegon making some advances on her and her family reacting to her new life.

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt.4.5
Summary: You and Aemond getting protective of one another when others in the Red Keep make snide remarks about the other.

So, this is how the reader reacts to someone insulting Aemond (and Helaena) behind his back while your around.
Throughout your stay in King's Landing, you were known to be an extremely pleasant person to be around.
Despite the cruel things people whispered about you, this was mostly gossip from the Ladies of the court who were jealous of your relationship with the second son of the king.
Your friendships with Helaena and Aemond were the highlights of your life at this point.
So naturally anyone who insults them, insults you by association.
It was no secret that people, mostly servants, whispered insults about the two of them.
It made no sense to you as Helaena was always polite and thankful to them for their service.
For Aemond it was more understandable, he'd built himself quite the reputation over the years, but he was still polite to workers, and women.
Often preferring to doing things by himself, he meant this so that the servants did not need to spend time on him so that they could focus on more important things. Like spending time with their families. You knew just how much Aemond despised absent parents.
However, the servants always took this as him not trusting them enough to handle his tasks. Well, you could see why in hindsight. Aemon was always very blunt when talking to people and it could often come across and uncaring and rude but it did depend on who he was talking about.
Typically, if one couldn't tell how he thought of you. Then it was neutral, he held no like or dislike to you.
If he didn't like you, you would know just from the way he looked at you.
Still, the callous words that people often sprouted towards them infuriated you to no end.
Apparently, Helaena's prophetic mumblings and Aemond's lost eye was too much of a challenge to look past.
So, you too, made a name for yourself.
A gentle, kind and caring person but if someone disrespected one of your friends one would very quickly find them repenting.
Even Aegon was not spared from your words when he spoke of his siblings disparagingly.
The first instance was about Helaena.
Some of her hand maidens, three you'd guess, were just leaving her room and while you couldn't see them you could hear their headache inducing laughter.
According to the loudest, they had just killed one of her most exotic creatures to see how she'd react to the news.
She didn't even get to finish her sentence before you were hounding them.
'Excuse me?!' The hour was early so you did not wish to wake anyone in the vicinity.
Thankfully Helaena had been requested by her mother earlier than usual so you could at least teach some insolent brats a lesson before having to break the news to the princess.
Oh, poor Helaena would be so heartbroken.
With that thought in mind you proceeded to quietly argue with each of them.
Now, a bad thing about being fully blind is that when you were in an argument with someone. There were times where they'd just quietly walk away from you because, well, it's not like you could see them.
But you were raised with parents and siblings who did exactly that, you could just tell when someone was about to try.
So, when the closest maid attempted to quietly step past you to escape your aggressive words you gave them a firm hit on the shin with your staff that Aemond had gifted you.
You were rewarded with a sharp gasp of pain, and they didn't dare try it again.
That staff was dangerous Aemond made sure of that.
Gods you laughed when Aemond told you to use it as a weapon if you wanted to but now you thanked him for it.
When you were done you gave them all a light tap on the head with that same staff as they watched in silent awe as they were patronised by a blind person.
(As many had often said your gentle nature came from the fact you were 'unable to defend yourself').
Then you had stormed off to the Queens Quarters where Queen Alicent and Helaena were conversing.
Queen Alicent had thought of Helaena's obsession with bugs as being unsightly or random when she was younger, often trying to ween her off of them.
As Helaena grew, her dreams grew with her and Alicent came to realise that it was not an obsession at all but rather something to release the strain of the horrible things she had seen.
She also came to realise that you too, played a similar role.
By talking about her dreams with you, something she only did with Aemond and sometimes Alicent herself.
She was able to further release the strain on her mind and relax more in her own skin as she knew that you would always take what she said in consideration and would try to figure out what she meant by certain sayings.
To hear that someone, or people, had harmed one of the few things that allowed Helaena to help live a regular life was enraging.
Alicent had pulled you aside to get the full story and the names of the handmaidens before the two of you approached Helaena to break the news to her.
The princess was reduced to tears and clung to her mother and her best friend as she mourned.
Helaena had a bond with those little critters that you couldn't fathom.
You weren't a big fan of them yourself, well only really the ones with many, many legs but you were willing to put that aside as you offered if she would like you to attend as she picked out new creatures to add to her collections.
Aemond also joined the two of you after you informed him of what had happened.
Adding in his own ideas of which ones Helaena should invest in, even offering to fly on Vhagar to get some exotic ones from Essos.
Helaena had brought the two of you into one large hug to thank you for your consideration.
Despite her innocence, she knew that not everyone would tolerate going on a trip for the day to bring back to the Red Keep.
The second instance was about Aemond.
And as always, his eye.
You were aware that people often talked about it, but it wasn't usually in a purely derogatory way like this time.
The lords had been speaking about how while Aemond may be good at sword-fighting, he would never be able to wed a woman.
That he was much too hideous for that.
Now, usually when it came to Aemond you would back away and do nothing.
Aemond would often tell you that you shouldn't put yourself in a situation where you could be put in danger.
He specifically meant men.
He would say that it doesn't bother him so you shouldn't worry about it but he was your best friend.
You knew when he was lying to you.
You knew that it sometimes kept him awake at night or bothered him when he was walking around King's Landing.
After all, why would he wear an eyepatch if it did not bother him in the slightest?
So, against his wishes you spoke up to the lords.
Stating that their children would be incredibly lucky to be wed to such a wonderful person like Aemond.
At first, you tried to be respectful but as they disregarded your words and tried to convince you that no one would wed him now you only got angrier.
And it showed.
The words you spat were unladylike and venomous, but you did not regret them in the slightest.
Later Alicent would give you her gratitude for defending her son so vehemently
Aemond would ask once again that you do not put yourself in a place where others may find reason to harm you.
However, he would be grateful nevertheless and gift you with something the very next day.
A new dress that he would describe to you with emotions or jewellery which he would explain the importance of the gemstone.
Let's be honest though. The jewellery and clothes probably matched his own somehow and he would have no shame in admitting that.

Okay a kind of a smaller one in comparison but I'm writing part 5 write after this. Not sure if it will be done tonight though. If you have any scenarios you'd like to see. Just comment them, message me or send me an ask. I really don't mind how I receive them.

So um, I watched the leaked episode. And oh my god. I never really get attached to TV shows or the characters but the last part to the episode was amazing and I was genuinely shocked for like 10 minutes even though I KNEW WHAT WAS COMING. Ewan Mitchell’s acting was on point to what I think Aemond would be like.
I also like how they’re not sticking to the book, which makes sense because the book was written by a Maester using historical notes and they wrote what made the most sense in the scenarios but then we find out in the show that it doesn’t really go like that.
Once again we get perfect demonstrations that Dragons are not slaves and will do exactly as they please regardless of the riders intention.

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt.4
Summary: You and Aemond getting protective of one another when others in the Red Keep make snide remarks about the other.
Requested: I thought this was a great idea that was brought to my attention by @ateliefloresdaprimavera. I love this idea so much so thank you for coming up with it!
Warnings: Near decapitation?
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5
Tumblr media
I wrote a bit too much again so there will be a 4.5 showing how you get protective of him.
There is no specific age for this one, it's applicable over all their years
When Aemond gets protective, he also gets aggressive.
But the aggression is never once focussed on the person he's trying to protect.
Perhaps only if he thought they were being reckless or stupid about it.
He wouldn't get annoyed at you for it though. More so because there was no way that you could know if someone was trying to pull something on you.
You only had their voice to rely on and that was simple enough to control.
It's part of the reason why Aemond was with you when he could be at gatherings.
If he was there then that deterred essentially everyone, especially those with bad intentions.
This became more prominent in the later years after his mutilation and he often spoke with you over the contempt he had for his nephew, Lucerys, who was let off with no more than a slap on the wrist.
Even if it had been an accident, and deep down Aemond knows it was, you couldn't fathom how he could not have been at least had a stern talking to afterwards.
Yes, Aemond had broken his nose and called him and his brothers bastards but was that really as bad as losing an eye permanently. Especially for a dragon-riding prince and sword prodigy.
You told him he deserved the punch for what he said to Baela and Rhaena.
He eventually came to agree with you, it was their mother's funeral after all, and they were just children.
It had taken around two moons though.
So, I personally imagine that when Aemond is feeling protective, or as though someone may be approaching you for no good reason, he would actively stare them down.
Well, to him, he's simply observing. But after the loss of an eye, he grew into the habit of not having to blink as much, so it comes across as staring.
Or glaring as Helaena would put it.
He knew that while people treated you kindly to your face, they would often exchange crude remarks about you and little accidents that happened due to your condition which you had no control of.
While you often joked about Aemond being a force of nature, you could deny how the air seemed to still and freeze when his anger came to the surface.
Perhaps it was because he rarely ever let his emotions come to the surface.
He stuffed it deep inside of him until the emotions began to simmer just beneath the surface.
Then all it took was one little comment to set him off and have these emotions bursting from him like a ferocious dragon would with fire.
Yes, Aemond reminded you off a dragon in everything but species.
You'd heard him have one of these outbursts at lords for their remarks towards himself. He never did it with the servants or women.
The respect he had for them didn't allow it.
He would often say 'Imagine being raised to believe that your place was only beneath another on the basis of something you cannot control.'
If women said something to make him rage, he would not let it show on his face, which was arguably much scarier. He would say the same things he would've had he been talking to a male but it lacked the fire per say.
Instead, he spoke in low monotone while his eyes displayed the fire he held within.
It was safe to say that Aemond was known as it bit of a feminist. Made sense considering he was raised to protect his mother and his sister and the closest males he had were his brother (a twat), his father (absent) and Criston Cole.
The latter also being a bit of a feminist himself, though he always held hatred for Rhaenyra.
Anyways, getting back on track.
When Aemond was angry, everyone could tell. Without even being able to see him they could tell.
It was even more terrifying to be on the receiving end.
Aemond was highly tolerant to many things but not to slander towards his family (that includes you as well).
In one instance, he hears your name being whispered amidst the courtyard dedicated for training as he passes by.
This causes him to pause and look over the side of the wall where he saw two guests, low lords.
He listens in with a calm expression but his anger flares more with each passing word.
They were conversing about the likely hood that you would be betrothed and wed. And who to.
His fingers cut into his palms with increasing pressure as he wonders if he should grab a sword and kill them both.
He's certainly tempted to.
He looks at the sword rack just to see how long it would take to get there and back but refocuses on the lords beneath him.
'There doesn't look to anything wrong with her when I look at her.'
'No, there are no visible defects but it's all the same, isn't it? No one wants to wed a blind woman. I mean, what can they do for their husband?'
'Well wouldn't that make it easier to form an alliance with her house if that is the case?'
'Yes, I imagine so. Are you thinking of asking for her to consider wedding one of yours? Then again, she doesn't have much say in the matter.'
'No, but she's close to the Prince Aemond. People say that he holds an uncanny resemblance to Prince Daemon in both looks and personality. While he's with her, few would dare try.'
His fury can barely be contained and he can tell that it shows from how the servants have swerved around him and no one is walking down the hall he resides in.
No one dares come close to him when he's like this.
For good reason.
Although he must admit the final statement makes his insides swell with emotions, he can't yet name.
'Well yes, but Aemond wouldn't be able to stop betrothal, wedding or the consummation. She would never be able to stop it if it was her parent’s wish and the Queen would never allow him to do so anyway.'
'Yes, and I imagine that it would be easy to get her to comply at the wedding and the consummation if needed.'
What little composure he had is blown away as he turns to march down the stairs. Grabbing a sword on his way.
It's a vague statement but the implication is clear.
Aemond wouldn't allow you to go through such hardships if something could be done about it.
It would seem that the lords had realised their mistake before he had even turned back around to swing at the closest scumbag with all his strength.
Had the lord not lunged backwards Aemond's blade would've cut cleaner than Valyrian steel (Heh, Daemon would be amused and impressed if he heard about it).
It did create a clean groove in the stone wall perhaps an inch deep.
'One more word and I'll feed you to Vhagar myself!'
He takes a couple more swings but this time he's not trying to kill them, just scare them a little.
He continues to stare them down until Helaena comes to grab him so that they could go find you together for her lessons.
Seeing you in person definitely calms him down more.
Helaena all but pushes him to sit directly next to you. Shoulders brushing together slightly.
He smiles at your eagerness to learn (and speak to him but he doesn't need to know that yet) and Helaena grins at the two most important people in her life, knowing what is to come next for them.
I thought I was going to go over again so I need to write 4.5 on another piece. But I think that will come up tomorrow or the day after, I've got a lot of stuff going on but writing these is more like a reprieve. I've mostly been focussing on this thread because it's the easiest to write but I have seen other requests and I've been planning how to write those too. So they'll come when my schedule lightens up some. BUT I'M STILL TAKING THEM!
I have about 3/4 more scenarios lined up for this thread including:
Fights breaking out at Aegon's and Helaena's wedding, in typical Westerosi fashion. You two worrying for each other's safety.
Her family reacting to how she's so clearly cared for at the Red Keep and Aemond snapping at them for their treatment of her (REQUESTED, I love this idea by the way. Thanks so much for it!)
Her worried about her looks and she asks Aemond if she's pretty or not. (REQUESTED, also an amazing idea that I'm looking forwards to doing).
Aegon trying to make advances on her only to be intercepted by Helaena or Aemond (or both). Would likely involve Aegon getting slapped if you're interested cause Helaena ain't letting that happen to her best friend.
I am also taking requests for this particular thread if you wanna see something that it's listed above. I've also been gifted ideas for a part 2 for the Daemon fic I posted a while ago which I'm gonna continue soon.

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt. 3.5
Summary: How you came to stay long term in the Red Keep and becoming closer friends with Aemond and Helaena.
Requested: I've had quite a few people comment and privately request for having the reader to feel Aemond's face to know what he looks like so that is also included.
Warnings: Nothing different from the previous ones. SOFT! Aemond.
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5
Tumblr media
Aemond:
Now if anyone had asked you how you were able to get so close with these two in the coming years, you would respond with luck and timing.
After Aemond's maiming he became much colder, borderline psychotic some would go so far as to say. You disagreed but only to a degree.
Yes, Aemond did change. But you could understand why. He wanted to be the best swordsman in the seven kingdoms. A job that required two functioning eyes.
Due to his lack of eye, he suffered from differences in perception. It was much harder for him to gauge where an opponent was in comparison to him so blocking and striking was momentously harder.
Don't even get him started on his massive blind spot.
But regardless, you became friends with him before that change in personality had truly set in.
Had you met him a few years later, you were sure that your lives would've been much different.
Aemond knew that his would be more miserable which was likely why he acted more or less the same to you over the years. You didn't want anything in return for his time and care.
Honestly, you just wanted him to look after himself and not his family that he was so hellbent of keeping together. Even if he had a love-mostly hate relationship with his older brother.
It was absolutely safe to say that Aemond trusted you with thoughts that he did not with his mother. Now, he loved his mother a lot, but it did feel as though it would only be reciprocated if he sacrificed something to help her.
With you, it was easy. You only wanted him to be able to relax. That's what you wanted to spend his time doing and he would be lying if he said it didn't work.
It seemed that nowadays he was only able to be truly relaxed around you and maybe Helaena.
You asked him to read his favourite books to you in the Godswood. He had a wide range of literature knowledge, so you were never bored by the books he read to you.
Sometimes he asked if he could lay his head in your lap, you accepted of course.
I mean, who wouldn't?
You often jested about characters in the books and relating them to people that you knew of around the Red Keep, leading to multiple fits of laughter as you imagined different scenarios.
Further on in time, after he had turned 5 and 10 years (yourself being 4 and 10) you would ask him to take you down to the training yard.
He wasn't sure why and he knew you wouldn't be able to take part because of your condition.
Don't worry, he'd probably give you secret self-defence classes in the middle of the night when he thinks you're ready.
You just wanted to see how he was improving, or rather hear.
When you complimented him after his training, he would ask how you knew that he was improving.
You answered simply 'Your feet don't scruff as much when you move. You move more confidently; I can tell my how much weight you put into your steps. Plus, I can actually hear Cole struggling when your swords clash. You are indeed improving.'
You remembered when you first asked if you could touch his face, he was stunned for a second but knew why you were asking such a thing.
'Are you sure you would like to do that?' What if you felt his scar and realised that being see with someone as hideous as him wasn't worth your time.
He almost wanted to refuse but alas you would not stand down.
Aemond was finding it much harder to say no to you now anyways.
The first time you did it Aemond was only a few inches above you as both of you were only just in your teenage years (or whatever they call it in that period).
You had placed the palms of your hands on the crown of his head and gently ran them through his lengthening hair. Targaryen hair, as you had found when comparing with Helaena, was rather fine and sleek but they made more strands than other hair colours as you came to find.
You started at the top and then came down, feeling over each of his facial features.
You only ran your thumb over his scar and eye patch as you knew how self-conscious he was of it.
At the time he had softer features, the only thing that remain constant over the years was the shape of his scar.
You agreed to do this at the end of every month, just to see how his face changed over the years.
It was usually a few months at a time that you would recognise a change.
You were always anxious to feel someone's face as it was a very intimate thing for you to do. You hadn't even done it with all of your siblings because they thought it to be weird and unnatural.
Eventually you grew more comfortable, especially since you did it so often with Aemond.
Each time you noticed he would be a little bit taller, eventually you found yourself having to balance of the tips of your toes to reach the top of his face.
Eventually he just started leaning down further to do it and after a few back cramps you just decided to do it while sitting on two chairs facing each other.
The more you grew comfortable the bolder you became and the more excited you were to see how he had changed.
You can imagine his surprise that instead of going from finding the length of his hair to his forehead, you went from his hair to holding his cheeks and feeling along the cheek bones and his jaw line.
He could've sworn he felt his heart flutter
He was happier than he'd ever admit when the cheek holding part became part of the regular routine.
Extra:
Sometimes when Aemond's paranoia of his family got the best of him, an effect from how he was raised it's harder to surprise someone whose expecting all hell to break lose, he would find himself asking 'Would I really fight and die for these people?'
His mother? Most of the time, when she wasn't insulting you or scolding Helaena for her visions.
Aegon? Hard pass, nothing needs to be explained here. Well, he liked to think that but no matter what, Aegon was still his brother even if he hated him for everything he'd done and who he was.
Helaena? Yes, if he was fighting for her then he was fighting someone willing to harm someone so sweet and innocent.
When he would think about this question for you, he would silently turn to look at you.
Watch quietly as you made a small flower crown that you would place on your head before chuckling about how atrocious it must look because it would pretty much fall to pieces straight away.
He thought about how we would go to his sister later and ask her to teach him how to make one himself so that he could surprise you with one later.
He gave you a bright smile that, sadly, you or anyone else would never have the pleasure of seeing. He wouldn't smile like that around anyone but you.
'Yes, I would absolutely kill for you, and I would not apologise for ever doing so, anyone who is trying to harm you is clearly my enemy.'

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt.3.
Summary: How you came to stay long term in the Red Keep and becoming closer friends with Aemond and Helaena,
Requested: I've had quite a few people comment and privately request for having the reader to feel Aemond's face to know what he looks like so that is also included. This will be in Part 3.5 because I wrote too much for one post.
Warnings: Nothing different from the previous ones. SOFT! Aemond.
I really wanna do one where he goes protective/possessive to show his psycho side a bit more. Perhaps a Westerosi fashioned wedding is in order
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5
Tumblr media
I think I deserve a round of applause for taking this picture on my phone from my iPad since it actually looks decent.
Helaena's part is so much shorter than Aemond's...
The plan for you to stay long term, devised by the masterminds of Aemond and Helaena Targaryen:
The plan takes place around a year after you first met, you've visited the Red Keep around 4 times since.
Aemond and Helaena's mother, Queen Alicent, didn't like you all that much. Mainly because she thought that you were distracting Aemond from his duties to the realm but also to his own family.
Now, she's not actually wrong.
Aemond would much rather spend time with you than go to his lessons, would much rather talk with you in the gardens than spend an hour trying to force Aegon out of his bed only to fail.
As Aemond, and Helaena, grew closer to you, they began to value the time they could spend with you far more.
You only visited King's Landing, once every 3 moons for a period of two to three weeks. You were one of the few people that these two could talk to freely without any snide remarks about scars they couldn't change and visions they could not stop.
So, it was only natural that when it was time for you to visit for that short time you did, they only wanted to spend the hours of the day with you.
That's how it felt for all three of you because you enjoyed their company just as much if not more. Considering that you had no one to talk to at your home.
When you arrived for your most recent visit, Helaena and Aemond had devised a plan.
A plan that would allow you to stay in King's Landing long term.
Their great plan was to get you to be accepted as a Lady-in-waiting for Helaena. Since technically, it was only up to the Princess to choose them so the Queen wouldn't have been able to refuse.
'Cause you know Aemond has already seen his mother's animosity towards you and is actively trying to smooth it out without it being obvious.
When Helaena announces the proposal at their family dinner, Viserys is immensely pleased. He knew just how kind you were and had somewhat of a soft spot towards you, surprisingly the same could be said for Daemon and Rhaenyra.
Alicent is frustrated but not at all surprised. She could only hope that the buddy relationship between the three of you (more so you and Aemond) would stop or rather that Aemond would snap out of this attitude.
Let's be honest though, that won't happen because once Aemond cares for someone he wouldn't let anyone stop him from looking out for them.
It doesn't matter however since Alicent can't refuse an offer from her daughter, especially when Helaena speaks about how she is most comfortable in your presence, her eyes watering slightly, as you do not belittle her for her whisperings of what she sees but instead ask her to know more.
Once their mother relents Helaena throws a wink to Aemond who returns it with a small, nearly unseen, smile.
Aegon snorts at the exchange but moves to down his wine once again.
Later on, Helaena gives you the good news and the two of you hug again.
You also tell your parents about the offer. Or rather, you state that you were going to be staying regardless.
They're surprised but somewhat grateful, you can imagine why. Aemond walks you down to the gate early in the morning to see them off, but they don't really say goodbye.
It doesn't affect you nearly as much as you thought it would, instead you turn your head to face where Aemond should be since you have a feeling that he's feeling more down about how your parents treat you than you are. So, you try to cheer him up a little.
'Did they at least wave to me?'
Aemond startles slightly, he doesn't get it for a second. But then he's chuckling and soon enough you're both laughing as you enter the Red Keep side-by-side.
'That was a horrible joke.'
'Yes, but it made you laugh, did it not?'
Now you spent most of your time with Helaena, you slowly but surely learned how to do more tasks by yourself to the point where you were rather effective at them.
You had memorised where each table and cabinet were dedicated to in Helaena's chambers and at some point, you stopped needing to use a cane to get around them.
You ever learned how to clean, fold and put away her clothes. You could organise her bed by yourself by feeling the differences in the textures of the fabrics and where they needed to go along with other things.
Although, you doubted you could ever say the same about the Red Keep as a whole. You struggled to believe that even those that could see were able to memorise the halls and where they lead.
It didn't matter, however, Aemond was more than happy to escort you where you needed to go if you were not sure.
Becoming Best Friends (and maybe a little bit more):
So, this is after you've started your long-term stay. I imagine this would be a few months afterward, but it can be applied to how old we have seen them in the latest episodes. So, it's a bit time-jumpy.
Helaena:
With Aemond and Helaena, your friendship grows as fast as it does strong.
You were one of the few people that didn't ridicule Helaena for her riddles, in fact, you listened to them and tried to understand what she was trying to say and what events lined up with them.
There were times where she dreamt of dragons and Targaryens alike falling from the sky, Aemond among them.
When she woke, she would be hysterical, lost in the whisperings of a terrible fate yet to come but not quite set in stone.
She was still able to absentmindedly leave her room and go to the next one over (your room).
She would use the key that you'd given her, since you never opened your door to people in the night (since you wouldn't be able to tell who they were as you opened the door or heard them).
She would lock the door behind her, still mumbling about the colours green and black before approaching and sliding into your bed to nestle up to you.
You probably would've woken up when she first began to unlock the door, subconsciously knowing it would be an emergency.
She would only stop mumbling when she fell back to sleep with often took up to an hour of you rubbing her back and whispering small comforts in her ear.
Sometimes you would offer to go and get Aemond, he was always her favourite out of her brothers and for good reason.
She would always refuse adamantly. Even if she acted distant and naive, she was not stupid.
She knew that even in the Red Keep, with some of the best swordsmen in the whole of the seven kingdoms. You would not truly be safe unless Aemond or one of their most trusted guards was with you.
People were more than willing to abuse your lack of eyesight.
Helaena and Aemond would never be able to live with themselves if something happened to you and they weren't there to help.
I think I wrote too much 'cause it wouldn't let me post the rest XD. That will be coming up shortly.

Aemond Targaryen x Blind! Reader Pt.2.
Summary: The ways that Aemond tries to help the reader become more independent since her family kind of thinks she's useless and needs help to do everything.
Warnings: More Allusions to Neglectful Parentage, soft Aemond is his own warning (more so out of shock).
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 3.5 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5
Tumblr media
This is based more or less soon after they meet but the mannerisms (what he does for the reader) stay more or less the same into their older years, closer to 1x08. So, he may not seem as cold or intense mainly because this is more of how he is seen in 1x06 and 1x07 due to his age.
Aemond wasn't an open person, he was seen mostly in the training grounds or with yourself in the gardens.
Lots of people saw him on a day-to-day basis but never really spoke or knew anything personal about him.
Paired with his looks it was much more common to hear the rumours about him and how he acts with his family. Some, mostly residents outside of Kings Landing believed that he held little love for his relatives but those within the castle knew much better.
He was constantly speaking to his mother about the court and what he may do to help ease the burden. Arguing with Aegon about how he treated women and sank in his wine trying to knock some sense into his older brother before he got himself killed. Defending Helaena from comments about her odd visions and sayings. He was by no means a cruel person towards his family.
When you became his friend and someone he genuinely cared for you came into his circle of protection. Said protection also meant a helping hand whenever you needed it.
Your parents were adamant on you having company of a knight at all times. They would lead you where you wanted to go and wait for you to be finished. Most times it felt as though you were a burden from how they would essentially grip your arm and drag you around.
You were not allowed to attend lessons that all ladies from high standing houses were meant to part take in. It left you feeling like a disappointment at best and while you never openly said it, anyone who saw the relationship between yourself, and your family could see it.
Your sisters often teased you for not attending lessons and would trip you slightly as you walked past. In truth, they did mean this in a light manner, but it certainly did not help you with how you felt.
Your brothers were similar, they didn't trip you as much, but they enjoyed jesting about your condition far more and in a more hurtful way.
You wanted to do those things, painting, stitching pictures onto thin cloths, gossiping with ladies of the court. But alas, you could not.
Deemed too different, too incomplete. It infuriated you, a complete contrast to your regular composure.
Naturally when Aemond heard of your wishes he set off doing what he could to help silently.
-- Becoming friends with Helaena.
When he introduces you to Helaena, your joint interest in plants and critters (more so for Helaena on the latter) meant that you'd become close to one another almost immediately. He was glad to see that you'd made friends with another person in the castle as he scarcely saw you in conversation with others outside of the dinner room and your own family.
Just as he'd predicted, Helaena had practically begged their mother so you could accompany her to her lessons. Ones that you weren't allowed to attend at your home away from the Red Keep.
Not only had he given you the opportunity to become friends with another girl (as most turned away after finding you were blind) but he'd also managed to get you into the lessons you so desperately wanted to attend since childhood in the space of a few days, without you ever realising he'd planned it from the start.
Ever the cunning prince.
Helaena would now join the two of you in the gardens when she was free, utterly delighted by the fact you did not fear bugs and arachnids.
You were told that they were ugly, scary things but you'd never been able to differentiate whether something was ugly or cute for obvious reasons.
Perhaps only centipedes were the exception, the feeling of hundreds of tiny legs running up your arm at a fast past was unnerving, but Aemond was always quick to remove the critters if you seemed to dislike them.
He too had been subjected to the same treatment (holding Helaena's bugs which she named ever so carefully) except he didn't have the pleasure of complete blindness to hide the bugs from him.
Then again all he had to do was close his good eye.
-- Walking through the Red Keep:
Another time when you visited the Red Keep, a few moons after your initial visit. You'd told Aemond how you felt about walking through the halls.
You wished to have the opportunity to not feel so useless and to walk on your own.
A few days later you were gifted a cane by the same prince you'd befriended.
Your parents had never allowed for you to have one because they thought that it was very unladylike to use one to move around. When you proposed that they could simply have one craft that looked fit for a lady of your standing they'd adamantly refused. They'd said that it would take too long to craft, be too expensive and that you would 'never use it'.
You knew that it was not the case. They just didn't want to spend money of you who they thought was a lost cause when it came to betrothals and weddings.
Aemond had done exactly what they refused to do for you despite only knowing you at the time for around five moons. He knew that you were a good person when you comforted him in the gardens, and he too felt what it was like to be unimportant in the eyes of a parent.
His father that is, Aegon often joked about Aemond being Mother's favourite but Aemond was more than smart enough to realise why. It was only because he was actively making an effort to hold the family together. In his mother's eyes, she needed Aemond to keep Aegon focused so that they could stand against Rhaenyra.
When he'd first gifted it, you spent 15 minutes feeling around the staff and all of its intricacies. You could feel a multitude of jewels, or were they crystals? Aemond was more than happy to tell you about each one.
It was a slim thing which made it far lighter and more appropriate for someone of your standing. Everything was in the colours of your house, including the jewels. It had light carvings of your house sigil as well.
An item fit for a princess, apparently Helaena had also given him ideas about what to be crafted.
You'd given the two of them a strong hug of gratitude in the privacy of Helaena's chambers.
Aemond would stand back a few feet and let you orientate the halls by yourself, something you'd never done before anywhere. It was a bit nerve-racking, and you called out the occasional 'Aemond?' just to make sure he was still there and hadn't left you fully to your own devices.
He always called back 'I'm here.'
He would warn you that you were coming up to a staircase but would otherwise let you try to move around objects by yourself unless you asked for a bit of assistance.
Eventually you began to memorise the halls of the Red Keep all by yourself (somewhat).
You would still walk into the occasional wall when someone distracted Aemond from you as they walked past, but he would always apologise and ask if you were okay. You only ever chuckled it off as your own clumsiness.
Laughing together about how you had a cane now yet still couldn't hold it in front of you.
When you needed to get somewhere quicker you would hold out your hands in his general direction and he would place his elbow between the two so that he could lead you.
He was much gentler and more understanding, you'd come to realise quickly.
--Some random bits:
He would often sit on your right during the lessons that you took with Halaena (she sat on your left). When you wanted to switch string, he would whisper what colour you were holding, and you would ask if it would match the picture you were trying to create (often using one of Helaena's previous pieces as a touch template)
He would give his honest opinion but remind you that it was ultimately your decision, not all great pieces of art came from a mix of similar colours. So, in the end you would end up using them regardless of what he'd said.
He would honestly explain what he was saying when he looked at your own stitching. Even if it was completely off but he would again tell you that you were trying your best so you would only end up improving.
He would always arrive you early to your family dinners in one of the rooms in the Red Keep and takes you to a free seat on the table to make sure that all your cutlery was there before leaving once some servants came in to keep you company before going to the main dinner hall that the royal family ate in.
While the ladies of the court where not exactly pleasant with you, the servants were more so since you were one of the few people in the Red Keep that were genuinely kind to them and thanked them for their service.
Once again, I would love to take requests for HOTD characters and on anything you'd like to see between this Aemond x Blind! Reader. Like please, I really wanna continue this thread XD.
If you wanna get tagged in this particular fanfiction for Aemond just comment it and I'll add you to a list. I forgot to mention that on the first one.
