I hate to keep bringing it up because it's basically the last few days of submissions… but with how I'm getting more educated on the whole racism thing with connections and the podcast, I've decided to kind of distance myself from the content for the time being. To keep this as anonymous as possible… I'm a fellow POC here who does not fuck with shit like that, even if it is not directed at my specific minority group. I'll probably pop in every now and then for my favorites, which aren't very popular, and try to just drop any old stuff that comes to mind if possible. As a prev anon mentioned, the schedule is down to one video per week, and we are still in some FUCKASS AU, so there isn't much to talk about tbhh. It's not canon, so I don't care. Sorry. I like a few Imperium characters, but without that, couldn't care less. Not anymore at least because it's situations like this already ruins media for me. I can drop something so quickly if the creator is weird... RIP HYPERFIXATION (like almost 3 years ago - no clue what today is)

after seeing the response of other anons on the "erik makes a podcast with a racist" idk if i fully understand the whole situation but tbh it made my stomach feel uneasy and here is why

i always hated the fact that if ur related to a person with "controversy" or sumn like that but in this regard from what i heard its something absurd like its disgusting a full grown adult can say such things as also a POC it made me sick and therefore i stopped following or even caring about the podcast as i much did before.

(but at the same time i haven't heard her say that really so if can someone tell me which episode or where they said it i would really like that just out of curiosity)

as i was saying it makes Erik look bad but i get where people are coming from when they say that he should distance himself from such people but y'all maybe if he actually realized he would have but idk am not like trying to defend him or anything its just MY OPINION (dont come for me <3) but overall am disappointed in seph and i hope erik realizes what she did and something happens

(also I KNOW I JUST KNOW am not the only one that realized the ring on erik's finger like it cant be an accident yall i might be going insane help ik it aint ma business to know but nkvbdkxbixdgbixdg)

The gist being that the co-host and Erik's bff Seph mentioned in an episode that white people should be able to crack racist jokes/jokes about race however they want and that she has been really fetishistic about Asians multiple times. So the original person who brought it up was weirded out by microaggressions. then they have a best friend they have brought onto the podcast who they have stated is a Trump supporter. And OP was weirded out by them platforming him (they didn't talk about politics when he was on the podcast). i'm not going to tell POC if they are allowed to be uncomfortable with those things or not.

i haven't seen the episode where Seph says white people should be able to crack whatever POC jokes they want, but there's over a hundred episodes and that anon was even specific about what movie Seph started the discussion off of. i have heard Seph say 1 little uncomfortable thing about an Asian anime character once that felt a little...off? and i do remember both of them saying that the friend they brought on is a heavy conservative (and how multiple friends of theirs are). It doesn't seem like Erik has said anything himself (lmao please nobody come and prove me wrong) but his friends seem to make OP (and the other recent anon?) nervous he shares their ways of thinking (birds of a feather like OP wondered) since they are his best friends since they were kids/teenagers.

De(a)mons as a race allegory is so bad. There have been a few posts about it from BIPOC listeners and it bothers me so much every time de(a)mon oppression gets brought up. As a rule of thumb, when you’re writing a race allegory, don’t make the minority more powerful/dangerous to the majority, and DEFINITELY don’t make them actively “feeding” on the majority. The fact that de(a)mons are parasitic in nature is such a bad look when you’re trying to tell a story about systemic oppression.

IDK it feels like Erik is Trying to write a story about oppression and just fumbling so bad. Begging people to do some research and getting a sensitivity reader or two before they make their work public.

I like seeing people draw parallels between content and irl. okay fair if you find it cringey, but like don't we literally all do that with media we love while acknowledging any parallels drawn are just a funny coincidence, no more/less. There's infinitely more to a person or someone's relationship platonic/romantic irl than a few headcanons/paralells/paragraphs that we see online so maybe don't judge someone for noting what are actually just very common, not really unique, nice things about people in their lives and when engaging in fandom going huh - i think x would act like that too, how fun. Like that's just, a normal way to think? And kinda a compliment? Idk but I'm happy for y'all fr :)

I'm a pretty active blog that's been here a while, part of this fandom since early '21 when everyone knew everyone and things were fun. It's changed so much now and crucially, I think it's because y'all are so obviously aged 21 or under and it shows.

I literally just think it's both hilarious and insane watching people not only get riled up over redacted content (girl its not rEAL), but actively piss on other blogs (if you wouldn't say it to their face don't say it online) or criticise the way that they enjoy the media or whatever the fuck it is. It's tumblr, it's not real life.

I feel like people would do well to remember that everyone on here is as complex and beautifully multi-layered a person as you are. And maybe it's because I'm at the kinda age where my brain is fully developed and watching teenagers get pissy is amusing to me, but when I see people getting riled up in the tag over silly drama and shit, I just wanna pat y'all on the head. Like, okay, calm down hun. We all have real lives offline, treat tumblr like the site is it - enjoy your lil corner of the internet and don't actively piss on or get unnecessarily triggered by anyone else. Grow up? Manners cost nothing
