femme looks up at the question; there's an underlying sense of tension in the house. her dad is gone. not that it's a sorrowful absence but... it's 9am on a saturday morning and she's already in the wine. a fight with her mother has occurred in the early hours of the morning, and dark circles under brown hues show she hasn't slept yet. it feels like she's trying to sneak through the ruins of something holy, now desecrated. fingers tap against her wine glass and she swirls it around. "are you gonna talk shit about me if i do? aaron already makes fun of me for crying, i don't need that shit from you." takes a sip of her wine, looking at her brother. "you know the first time i drank, i was 13. not to the point of being shit faced but... i got a buzz. i felt like a goddess." a shrug. "the only time i can stand to be with myself is when i'm buzzed, or drunk, or high. do you.... do you like yourself all the time?"

the blonde hums softly, bites down on her bottom lip. maddy is fire, she always has been. cassie wonders if that makes her ice. she's the opposite, usually. she's currently sitting cross legged on maddy's bed, absent mindedly scrolling through her phone. she looks up when maddy speaks, leans over to glance at the screen. she sees nate's name at the top of her best friend's phone and her mouth goes dry. she leans back, shuts her eyes. "why are you even talking to him? like... i thought you guys were done? he's so bad for you, maddy!" blonde knows she's babbling, can hear the waver in her voice and she leans over to rest her head against maddy's shoulder so she doesn't have to meet her eyes. "just stop texting him. he's not... worth it, okay?" she knows he's worth everything to herself. but she needs to convince maddy to let go, to move on... figures it'll soften the blow when the truth comes out. "turn your phone off, we're supposed to be relaxing, right?"
