Final documentation:

When my group went out to present our project to the public and have the public participate it was a bit of a challenge. We originally wanted to go to a park or the mall to have people draw on the moons we made with different emotions on them. However, since we couldn't schedule a time where there would be a lot of people around those areas we ended up doing it outside of a Target in a shopping plaza. There were still not many people passing by. Some of them seemed interested in our project but kept walking and the only people who actually participated were people below the age of 30.

Final Artifact:

While outside of the Target we asked passerby's if they wanted to participate in our art project. Many people simply ignored us and kept walking and just looked at us or commented on the project thinking it was an installation. The few interactions we got were from younger people around our age, so below the age of 30. Some people drew little swirls or a smiley face with the powder pigment, while others just covered the entire moon with pigment, even if it destroyed drawings other people did before them. The final result has the colors associated with the emotion used accordingly. We taped the moons on the wall in the form of a circle to show the range of emotion from stillness to anxiety and to symbolize the different phases of the moon.

Present:

The collaborative sentence my group came up with is "Emotional eclipse changes stillness into roaming anxiety." The words chosen from our sources were: eclipse, change, roaming, and I chose anxiety. I think this project can represent what it feels like when something happens in your life that causes you to have an overwhelming sense of dread and anxiety because of the event. I think we chose to use the phrasing "emotional eclipse" to have it be broader so our audience would be able to relate to the sentence better.

Flag race challenge 

For the flag race, I partnered up with Bri because she lives the closest to me so we could pick a middle point near us for the race. The meeting point we chose was the Shops at Pembroke, behind the Barnes and Nobles. I live about 13 minutes away from there and Bri is 15 minutes away. we planned to meet at 6pm so I left my house at 5:45 but she still beat me. My flag is supposed to represent me because it have half of the Cuban flag and Half of the Dominican flag. I also added some stars and other symbols to make it more personal to me.

My idea is to merge the dominican and cuban flags but maybe change the colors a bit and then add pink peonies in the corners. I also decided to add the moon in the corner because I really feel a connection to the moon and I feel like it is a good representation of myself. I also added a ribbon in the bottom corner to be a little bit more personal to me.

Framing the Space

For this framing space project I wanted to make a sort of floating blanket fort. I wanted to use some fabric that I already had at home but I did not realize they were all the same size and they were all small. I had a sketch of how I wanted my finished product to look like but with the materials I had I was not able to achieve the original goal. I still managed to put the fabric I had into the shape I wanted but it was too small to look like the ceiling of a blanket fort.
