cissie could feel heaviness in the air even if she didn’t understand the reason to why just yet, it was just something that she would try to push it pass as the days went by. she sat on one of the counters of the kitchen as waited for cassie to finish the dishes, wanted to help but was simply sat picking at her nails as her girlfriend worked on them. their mind started to run countless scenarios that she didn’t even realize that the other had addressed them. cissie takes a while to finally come back to reality and shakes her head, processing the question “oh, not really, i was hoping to just watch a movie or something. why, do you have anything in mind?

·.·★         𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬   ;  and  cassandra  would  swear  she  never  meant  for  it  to  get  to  this  point  –   looking  for  the  right  moment  to  come  clean  about  taking  up  the  wonder  girl  mantle  in  this  new  world.   she  knew  it  would  undermine  not  only  the  trust  this  relationship  had  been  rekindled  on   ,   but  also  the  foundation  under  why.   they  had  broken  up   before  because  cassie  couldn’t  handle  being  a  good  girlfriend  and  hero   at  the  same  time      –  -   and  the  more  she  dwelled  on  that  she figured  ,  maybe  she  was  never  a  good  girlfriend  in  the  first  place

 conner  had  been  wrong  about  many  things  , and  their  actions  only  sought  to  make  things  far  more  difficult.  but  things  had  been  made  clear   ,    cissie  deserved  better.   or  at  least,  to  know  the  truth.    (  maybe  the  partial  truth  ,  or  whatever  she  could  manage.  )   dishes  are  almost  finished  and  she  thinks  maybe  the  fact  she  cooked  and  cleaned  were  proof  of  guilty  conscience,     “   hey   angel  ,    do  you  have  any  other  plans  for  the  night  ? “    casual line  thrown  over  her  shoulder ,  the  butterfly  flap  to start  the  hurricane /  @arrwette​

cissie found herself assimilating easily to the new world, it wasn’t like she had pressing matters in her own that she was nervous to go back to, specially with most that she knew was with her. but most importantly she was finding nice to meet people, people she had never thought she would meet if this hadn’t happen. they watched as he took the darts out of the board “ well that’s what happens when you challenge someone with perfect aim.” she winks “ oh yes, you could have, you wouldn’t be in bad company with all the people that i put to dust on archery. next time, chose something that it doesn’t involve shooting, or at least get me drunk first.” they joke, playing with the dart in her hands.

Tyrone could definitely take it as a ‘win’ that there were so many more young superheroes in a city like New York than back home. Of course he missed his parents and old friends, but there was something about being surrounded by people like you that provided a much-needed blanket of security to fall on Ty. Well, not exactly exactly like him, as Cissie was clearly destroying him in every game of darts, pool, or whatever else they could find to keep themself entertained on a college campus, “Thank goodness I didn’t challenge you to archery,” Ty pulled darts from the board with a mumble, thinking how he should’ve know better than the challenge her at all.

“no,” kyle says, more to himself than to the other as he tries to remember where he’d seen them. he didn’t watch enough TV for him to have seen her there, and even their voice was familiar, meaning he hadn’t just encountered a random photo of them somewhere. he thinks harder, trying to come up with some reason her face would stick out so much in his memory. even as the line moves forward, he remains preoccupied.

and then it hits him all at once. his eyes widen and he even laughs as he says, “wait, weren’t you on that teen justice league? the one who insulted batman to his face?”

“ no ? ” they shake their head and go over in their head from where she could have possibly know the other from, she stared at him eyes squinting as she thought it over. “ young justice ? yeah.” as the words hit her, memories of that encounter flood back to her eyes wide. the most terrified she had ever been was when she was telling them off not knowing if she would ever see the day after “ well i wouldn’t say i insulted him. it was more of a bringing back to reality and was really to the whole league. ” they shrug with a chuckle “ but wait, if you know that you are... ? ”

cissie knew plenty people with exceptional abilities having mixed with them for a long period of time during her early years, however she was always intrigued by a seemingly new one “it was awesome.” gaze falls to the hands and back ot the other with a wave “ oh i’m fine, i’m fine. i’ve taken harder hits. i used to do what you did right them. i’m used to it. ”

they chuckle at the other’s certainty “yes they will.”  eyebrow arches “ can’t wait to set a even better record then.” cissie let’s a smile take over their features, a hand coming up to the other’s chin “ you most certainly are, i for one would do about anything you tell me to.” she teases, feeling loss of heat from cassie detangling from her grip, she moves to finish off setting up the table and turn to the other blonde as she speaks again “ just okay ? ” she perks up at the question “ well i got us some chinese, would that be alright ? ” she motions her hands to the set table she had finished for them.
