thanks to my fucking OOMF I was able to watch and finish conan's new travel show 🥹 and I think for a conan stan it's good but I think for other more neutral watchers it might be average. there's gold in some of these episodes like when he went to argentina with jordan and he's messing around with him at the restaurant and jordan's just like "you're covering up your childhood sadness with this meat." he just ripped into him but I think the thailand episode was one of the better ones of this series. I do think conan can make anything funny and it's hard to do that when you're riffing off strangers. I'm excited for him to continue this series though and it is funny to me, but I'd probably still consider "conan o'brien can't stop" and especially the commentary version as one of my most favorite extended pieces from him.

not to fall into the trap of lookism, but I honestly think in this society and in this generation of idols... being a good dancer and performer or knowing how to look good is more important than being a good singer. I'M SORRY!!!!!! this isn't even about the kpop and the whole string of popular people who are considered "bad" singers but it's funny how people love to discredit idols who have star quality and those who KNOW they look good and use it to their advantage. people act as if being confident or having good on-stage presence is not a skill that a lot of people in the public eye can't do well. I'm not saying one is better than the other, and this is such a niche example but whenever I watch the making of girlicious I am always reminded that you can become a better or above average singer, but you can't always become the center of attention or the it girl/boy of your group. natalie on this show was such a bitch, albeit she is very attractive and charismatic and she knew that about herself, so even if she wasn't necessarily a great singer she still made it into the group. people are always up idol's asses like "it's their job to sing and dance", "they have to sound good live", "they're singers they have to sing" actually they don't lmao! realistically, it's their job to gain fans and to look good and appealing and act attractive which most idols already do. singing is just a by product of it and I'd even say it comes second to dancing because you can always remix someone's voice, but you can't have a stand in performing for you on stage. I just find it ironic that people have so much to say when it comes to popular idols not living up to their hype when most groups and most of our faves are pretty mid anyways. If you valued singing so much you wouldn't even be into kpop in this generation. you'd listen to like kim yeonwoo or something...

I think there are a lot of sad scenes in lovely runner, but that scene at the end of episode 4 when they reveal sunjae's perspective of the radio call actually made me cry. clearly, at that time, and I can surmise for an extended period of time sunjae and sol were no longer talking, and they surely didn't have a very intimate relationship in high school originally. It's obvious sunjae still thinks about sol after becoming a celebrity. for the amount of time he spent quietly watching her and having a crush on her in school, it would not be surprising to know that after sol's accident he was still around her, albeit in secret. he purposely called her wanting to have some sort of solace in her remembering him, or at least to hear her be the cheerful and preppy sol he first fell in love with but when he asked her if she knew who he was, rather than just saying no she basically said, I don't care who you are. sunjae's intention, his hope, and ultimately his heartbreak is so visceral like this scene is literally 35 seconds long but it easily makes me want to sob. the tone when he says her name in his head, and he, who is already ridden with guilt feels even more dejected than he already is, it makes sense why sunjae wanted to kill himself... these little bits and pieces really pave the way to showcase how sad and lonely and how horrible sunjae would've felt, especially seeing as he probably feels like he's the one to blame for sol becoming like this. I'm sorry but this scene is actually so fucking sad like it's episode FOUR officer!!!!!!!!

as a full blown hermit there will be days where I have the entire day off, but I have to do ONE single thing and the time leading up to that event is like... time spent waiting for that thing to occur. I literally have a facial in two hours today WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE A RELAXING ACTIVITY and I woke up a good 5 hours ago, but I've just spent all that time thinking about this one event. I'm pretty sure whatever traumatizing thing that happens to both sol and sunjae in the past will still happen in the future regardless of what they do. however, I don't think sunjae will die, and their relationship itself will not end in tragedy either. there's still a lot of story to delve into but all these preventative measures sol does serve as fodder to create memories between the two of them, to help them fall in love, and for them to be apart of each other's lives in order for them to heal and to persevere and continue living THROUGH their own respective rough patches. this drama feels similar to "twinkling watermelon" based on the time slips and the lead's goal of changing the future for the better... so I think sol and sunjae will still be sad and hurt to an extent over the same periods of their lives but they won't be alone through them which is the whole point of love wins all. even if I'm wrong about all this, I won't let sunjae die let me tell you

fuck! why is the ending of episode two so good like this is so SCHEWPID!!!!!!!!!! but schewpid in a I'm about to shit my pants kind of way. I already borderline saw/heard a spoiler of sunjae's point of view but it's so silly and cute and goofy and *chews on a straw until all the microplastics gets digested* I can't... I can't... like, there is something special about the interconnecting relationship between them both and the photo sunjae has of them kind of gives way for a whole umbrella of pipelines of what he meant to her throughout his life. with that being said if this drama ends up anything like "20th century girl" I'll actually have to jump off a hotel building and land a million feet into a pool
