Soul had stood back. "I can't believe they are getting this excited over a cute puppy. Right, Black Star?"
Black Star was not next to him.
"Look at his widdle face!" Black Star shouted.
Soul stared, blankly. Then he just looked to his right.
And sure enough, Kid was not next to him, either.
"Have you considered contacts to have their eyes match?" Kid asked Michelle.

"We sure this guy's a pirate?" The girl with pink hair stared at him. "He's turning down treasure--maybe there's something wrong with his head. Stein should take a look."

Chopper found this city and the school he wandered into to be rather odd. The students were quirky from what he saw, and quite frankly, fun. A lot of their personality traits reminded Chopper of the numerous characteristics of his charming pirate crew. It helped to make the pain of being separated from his surrogate family a little less obvious. In fact, it made the stinging wound of isolation practically nonexistent in the presence of these students and teachers. He might just enroll here if possible. Of course, being an anthropomorphic reindeer did make him hesitant to approach the students of this establishment. He was roughly the size of a toddler, 90 cm (2'11½"), rather than being a human-sized beastman. This usually didn't endear him to others, but instead, made them think of him as a demonic abnormality. Of course, this place seemed less superstitious than his village. As the boy walked down the hallway, just as classes were ending for the day at this school, his hooves made a squeak with every step that connected with the ground. His scrawny arms and legs didn't seem that exhausted despite how weak they made him look, and how long he had wandered around the city up until that point. He made sure that his maroon pants were clean, as well as the small, blue backpack and pink fuzzy hat that he wore. The fur on his exposed torso didn't have much dirt on it, which was good to show that he was a little more civilized than a wild animal. Finally, Chopper spotted someone. An adorable blonde-haired girl with an almost perpetual looking smile on her face. How fortunate for him! She didn't seem much older than him, if at all, and something about the look of her blue eyes told Chopper that she was not going to be afraid of his abnormalities. With an excited grin on his own face, Chopper walked over to the girl, hoping that he had not come at an inconvenient time. Stopping in front of the blonde-haired weapon, Chopper lifted his head to make proper eye contact. Hopefully, the student was already aware of his presence, but due to her severe ADHD, that may not have been the case. In spite of Chopper's size, two things were likely to catch her attention. His bright blue nose and the brace on his left antler which held it together after a certain injury. Chopper's smile never faded as he reached his small hoof forward and placed it upon the hyperactive girl's knee, hoping she would look down at whatever touched her. "Excuse me~!" Chopper sang aloud, hoping to instantly warm her heart. He had a feeling that if he was happy, it might infect her own emotions with the same type of optimism.
Patty had been in the hallway for quite some time--all because Kid just had to arrive at school super early. Given how long it took him each morning to get into proper order, and given that he refused to come to class without both of his weapon partners, Patty and her sister Liz had the misfortune of having to accompany him just as the sun had risen.
But this morning, there was plenty of talk around campus to keep Patty busy, namely about an odd creature spotted in Death City. And what kept this talk going was that no one could quite agree on just what exactly they saw. Was it a bear cub? Some students thought what they saw was a short-ear rabbit. A few said it was a raccoon dog--which Patty noticed seemed to make her classmate Kim nervous.
Patty was now racking her brain, trying to figure out just what all of these people thought they saw, if they actually saw anything at all and weren’t just making it up, or weren’t high as a kite (in which case, Patty wanted to know who was dealing). All that the animals described had in common were a rather small size and a lot of fur--soft, soft, cuddly fur, Patty imagined, as she started to absently-mindedly pet the invisible air as if she was holding this unidentified creature.
“You worry me sometimes, Patty,” her older sister Liz said. She had been leaning against the lockers and just finished filing a nail, now checking it against her other fingers. “I’m going to go powder my nose, then we can head to class, alright?”
“Okay, Big Sis! Have a good poop!”
Liz grimaced before heading to the restroom.
Left alone with her thoughts, Patty started going through a mental rolodex of all the animals this new creature could be. “Aardvark? No, then it wouldn’t be able to read. Bonobo? Not hairy enough. Oh! I got it! Maybe it’s a--”
“Tap tap.” She heard something knock against her knee.
“Eh?” She looked left and right--before realizing to look down at her knee.
And that’s when she saw him.
Patty stared at Chopper. She studied him up and down, observing his features: “Antlers? Bright blue nose? Antlers? Hooves? Antlers? ANTLERS? ANTLERS?!!”
She hoisted Chopper up, lifting him over her head. “CARIBOU!” she shouted, her eyes bright, a huge smile stretching across her face. “CUUUUUUUTE!”

Everyone stared blankly.
Then there was a loud cry of "D'AW!"
"I WANT TO PET IT!" Patty was the first to scream.

"Hear that, Big Sis?"
Patty was talking to Liz as she hugged Chopper from behind.
"He's my friend now!"

"Maybe after classes end would be the best time to ask--" Maka began to say.
But then two people popped up on either side of Chopper--Patty's sister Liz, and a girl with pink hair.
"You say something about money?" Liz asked.
"What kind of treasure? Gold? Diamonds?" The pink-hair girl had excited eyes but with a deadly serious scowl.

Maka's Pikachu face did not disappear--but she did flatly say, "It's okay. He's had worse. This isn't the worst fight to happen in school history."
"BLACK STAR!" A teenage girl with long dark hair ran up to her partner.
"Did you see me, Tsubaki?" Dazed, Black Star spoke through a mouth that was now puffy from bruising. "I went up against a giant bear and lived!" He then promptly fell over again, his spirit floating out of his mouth--which Tsubaki proceeded to try to force back in.

Maka made a Pikachu face.
"Swole," Patty mumbled.
" 'Attacking'?" Black Star just stared more in confusion at the sight of Chopper than with any fear. "Dude, that was a duel!"
"An unsanctioned duel without any teacher refereeing as required by DWMA guidelines--"
"No lecturing, Maka!" Black Star shouted back. He then grinned at Chopper. "But this one is a bigger challenge. What do you say, big guy, want to rumble?!"

"Oh, hello!" Maka said, seemingly unfazed at such an eclectic set of characters. "I'm Maka. This is my weapon partner Soul."
The boy with white hair and sharp teeth just let out a grunt.
"The one who got knocked through the sand is Black Star, and that is his weapon partner Tsubaki. And you already spoke with Kid and his weapons Liz and Patty."
Patty was bouncing between the new friends. "Glitchy cat ears..."

" 'Weird'?" Maka asked. "I mean, I guess it can seem weird to some."
As Maka said that, a student with striking blue hair was in an argument with a student with a shaved head except for two parts he had crafted into pointed horns--as said blue-hair student punched the horned student so hard he flew through the hair, knocking over chairs along the way.
"But it can also be fun!" Maka said with a smile. "Knowledge can be its own adventure, too."
Maka evidently was so accustomed to fights breaking out at school that she could just keep on talking--while Patty was shouting, "Yeah! Kick his ass, Star!"
Maka opened her textbook to show something to Chopper. "See? We're on the lesson about chain resonance between our souls."

Kid glanced at the bag. "...Yes, that should cover it, down to the penny."
"YOU'RE ALREADY RICH!" Liz finally popped out of gun form and started shaking Kid, who just looked tired by the whole outrage.
Patty as well popped out of gun form and started counting the coins. "Enough here to also add some emu to the petting zoo!"
Maka tried to ignore their shenanigans and take the lead on questions. She asked Michelle, "What multiverse? And are you able to open the portal again to continue where you were heading?"

Suddenly right behind the academy a portal appeared as a massive ship came out careening down as the ship knocked one of the pointed roofs off ruining the symmetry,(why is that important? It will be coming very soon),it fortunately missed the rest of the city as it crashed into the sands in the outskirts as the ground rumbled for miles.

"Are you a friend of Patty?" Maka asked. "Or a new student?"

"Kid, don't freak out," Liz, still in her gun form, warned him.
"Why would I? 64 is 8 squared, that's fine."
"Of course," Liz let out in exasperation.
"31 would be better," Patty offered. "Like the ice cream."
"The real question," Kid then asked Michelle, "is why you have robots attacking you, and why the DWMA is now damaged by your spaceship's arrival."
"Seriously?" Liz was incredulous. "Hammer-wielding Amazon cat girl and 64 personalities, and the real question is about a knick to the school?"

"I know, right?" Patty jumped into the conversation. "We got wacky statues and those giant candles and the dungeon and the cafeteria and that boy who is still stuck in sword form."
A sword nearby with a face on it shouted at Patty: "I HAVE A NAME, YOU KNOW!"
