"It'll only help if HE gets his BUTT over here to fix it HIMSELF." He says this, incensed, throwing his hands up at the sky where the BRAT had flown off. "What's his problem??" He’s had loads of trouble tossed at him by some naughty kids before, and was a notoriously mischievous one himself but none had ever been able to make him this mad, his head is about to EXPLODE. "Just go away. I can do it myself," he mutters in a low voice, bending down as he starts sweeping up the mess with his hands. He doesn't mean the dismissal, of course. He's just too irritated right now to accept help.

"No, I'm an explorer," he corrects falsely, and half in jest. "You know, just exploring and all that stuff. Looking for some dangerous activities to take on. Happen to know any, Melody?" He likes attention. And inflating his image and attributes always seems to help him gain that. He does the same thing to all the children back at home. They all love him. "I'm Kenai."

“Are you a tourist? You don’t look like you are from around here?” Her voice is light and filled with curiosity. It was always nice when tourist season came around. Not only did it boost the Kingdoms economy but it allowed her to meet new people without abandoning her responsibilities. She stuck her hand out toward him. “I’m Melody.”

"Didn't think you were a vegetarian. Hah, fish? Fish don't have any brains, no need to be afraid about harming those things." Had all of that seriously spilled out of her own mouth? Kenai can't believe it. It's too weird. He didn't get the part about her 'handling her own lifestock'. What does that mean? From his inference she probably meant animals, but he doesn't see why she would have to do that.
"Job? What kind of job is that?" Incredulous. A chortle escapes him. It's clear he's humoured. "'Kay, I'll take you to see your 'bears, mammoths and deer'," at this he gestures with sarcastic quotation fingers. "These don't just hang around when you're around, you know. I'll lead you to 'em, but I'm not gonna catch them for you, just so we're clear."He wonders at her peculiar desire yet still. He might stick around to see how she studies the animals. His curiosity must be satisfied, and amusement is welcomed.
"Kenai," he answers her final question. "I don't suppose you have a name, too?"
“ Mm. Aw’right, touché, “ Ellanora mutters under
her breath, keeping her arms folded. A small snort from her nose and
a stifled chuckle begins her response to his next question. Hunt? That
was a more common stereotype. Of course, she couldn’t blame him,
her kind was mostly carnivorous, but the idea of seeing animals as
nothing more than food was an incorrect one.
“ Hunt? Ahaha! Only if my rations were little to
zero and I was close to starving! “ She replies with a small laugh, shaking
her head. “ Human, I don’t have the guts to kill an animal for food unless
it’s fish. And even then, it’s gotta be wild and I have to have nothing else. “
She admits without trouble. “ You’re talking to someone who handles her
own livestock. ‘Cept I love them all too much to see to it that they don’t
die old and peacefully. I could never eat any one of them, or raise them
for the purpose of bein’ eaten. “ She adds with more sincerity.
The gatasaur frowns a bit, furrowing a brow. “ If I were here for trouble I
would’ve caused it by now. I’m here to study different wildlife. Bears,
mammoths, deer, I’m doing research for a particular job. “ More
specifically, she was here in part with her research team to better
understand how a changing climate and the growing dominance of a
sentient race impacted the lifestyles and and behavior patterns of other
animals in the area. “ Now, on the subject of the names. What can I
call ya? “

"Like a priest? I thought those types were supposed to be helpful--?" He felt himself agree mentally on her negation of the clichéd truism he had used, and some part of him knew he had partly said it to pacify himself. In a time long ago when he and his brothers didn't have to live off their own sweat and blood, his parents constantly taught them that all of nature was good. Deities of the world wouldn't lay a finger on them unless it was meant to be. Yet what had happened? His dad got killed by a bear, and a virulent illness stole his mum. He was pretty sure they didn't deserve it, but whoever was out there struck them anyway. They had promised him they'd be with him forever. Guess not.
A titter. "You're probably right, I'll give you that. Who needs parents, right?"
“ i mean sure, when they blatantly lie to you, they think it’s for the better —- until you realize that you were lied to. that’s when the real pain begins. ” eight years spent more so with governess’ and nannies than your actual parents did damage a view on them.
“ especially when my mother brought in this holy man that was supposed to be able to heal my little brother. cure him of his affliction. yeah right. it barely changed him. sometimes i think it actually made him worse. ”
alexei… the child that for once made her a big sister. he had always been so fragile. “be careful with him anastasia, he is not a doll” her mother would always tell her. to think that she’d blindly trusted rasputin, that everyone believed he could heal the tsaroveich… it sickened her now. at least he was long gone from this world now.

The sharp creak of metal and the instant clash that followed reverberated throughout the corridors. The sound bouncing off the concrete walls in the cell marked the end of his own life as he knew it--not really, but it felt like it at the moment. He was in JAIL. Time after time of being warned by his eldest brother, he finally gets locked up in prison for the first time.
"Please, no," he whines, paws gripping the thick metal bars, face pressed against them in an almost pathetic manner. "I'm too young for this. Officer, COME BACK."
In his process of wallowing in self-pity, him now a convulsing mass of sobs, his nose picks up a scent, and he knows he's not the only animal in the cell. He just hopes whoever they are are a pleasant sort.

Little hiatus
I’m having mid-year examinations this week *screaMs* I’ll be taking a break from tumblr so I can focus. I have threads to reply to, memes to turn into threads, and two starters I have yet to write! My ACTIVITY is back and forth due to classes and other muses but I’m so overjoyed by the reception my Eric blog has gotten since I rebooted only two weeks ago. The Little Mermaid has always been dear to my heart as a disney film and to have so many people wanting to write with me here really makes a difference. I’m not good with these mushy speeches but the following people are just a joy to have on my dash and I just want to scoop all of you up and give you cuddles.
