The crazy ass project.
After Mei and I first debuted Glad and Lillie at a con, I had the mad idea that I wanted to make a Silvally prop. The problem is… Silvally’s official size in the Pokedex is 2.4m. That’s 80cm taller than myself. )o) Sure, I could scale him down, make a tiny lap plushie like all the other cosplayers, but what would be the point? Although I’d never cosplayed from the Pokemon series before, I’d always thought that if I were to do so, I’d want to make life-size Pokemon so that it’d look like I actually have a Pokemon partner, and not just a Pokemon toy. But I’d thought then that my projects would be starters like Pikachu or Cyndaquil. Not a giant horse-dog like Silvally ^^;;;
I had to consider the fact that my house isn’t very big and I’d have barely any space to keep him. I had to consider how I’d be able to transport him, and how to construct him so that I could take him apart. I also had to consider the amount of money I’d be spending on him, because honestly, cosplay is not a cheap hobby. Materials in my country are especially expensive. As an unemployed student, I’d be splurging a lot if I decided to go ahead with this crazy project. When I told this to Mei during one of our dinners out, she suggested just making his head and taking halfbody shots so no one can tell that he has nobody. Like a hobby horse, except it’s a hobby Silvally.
And here's the result!! \o/ and then we only got one photo of him lololol

LOOK AT HIM HE'S SO CUTE PROBABLY THE BEST PLUSHIE I WILL EVER MAKE
After we’d decided to do SuMo together, I thought of making a Nebby plushie for Mei to carry. Yes, Pokemon Center had already released their Nebby plush by then, but… For one, it’s smaller than life-size. For another, the shape looks more like a sunflower than a starry cloud. I didn’t want it to look like Lillie was just carrying a toy; I wanted to give the impression that she had an adorable, soft, beautiful real-life Cosmog.
I chose white fleece and stuffing (because I wanted to paint him in a nice gradient with my airbrush!), with metal wire in the ear/antenna pieces to make them stand.
Didn't manage to get photos, but I added white sparkles on the ear/antenna pieces afterwards <3

WIPs for my PKMN SunMoon team!
1) Lillie's wig! I made pocky sticks out of batting and wig wefts in order to create nice fat braids. The batting is attached by clips (not visible in final!) to make them removable in case I need to wash the wig. Also added more wefts in the back to thicken the hair.
2) Gladion's wig was a NIGHTMARE......... I had to reweft the entire front to create that parting, then spend weeks ventilating a lacefront so I could have a nice hairline. After that came the extremely annoying task of cutting and styling everything neatly.... I was actually pretty proud of how it turned out 8'D
3) Props for Gladion! ...I made two versions of his waist bag (actually, I made two versions of his whole costume....) because I wasn't satisfied with how it looked the first time. The Z-ring I made in a week! EVA and craft foam for the bulk of it, but the Z-crystal is made from a thin acrylic sheet. Pythagoras' theorem was my friend here for the measurements *w* that's the reason we went to school and learned math HAHAHAHA

Laki and I collected quite a few knick knacks in order to decorate the table with spell ingredients. We spent some time arranging them in the studio =D
The thing is, we didn't really have a photographer for this shoot.I took the solos of Laki, but for our duo shots, Sakami was behind the button. The idea was to put my camera on a tripod, get the angle and focus, then I'd run back into the shot while Sakami hit the trigger. In order to get the placement for this one, Sakami went to stand in my place. Shenanigans ensued and I have the most hilarious omakes 8'DDD I love my friends HAHAHA
(Also we gave up on the tripod halfway through the shoot so the rest really was just Sakami XD)
