part of me wants to talk about isabeau because i do have Thoughts about her but also those thoughts aren’t exactly positive. like, there’s a recurring pattern with the top US women right? we’re all seeing that? they debut as senior and are on top of the world for like 1 or 2 seasons, then they falter, then by their 3rd or 4th season senior things start to go REALLY wrong, and then by the time we get to the olympics if the skater qualifies at all she places comparatively modestly to the podium finish everyone was swearing up and down she’d get back when she was 15.
i really hope i’m wrong. i love isabeau and i want to see her skate for many years to come but there’s glaring issues in her jumps especially we’ve been seeing since she was on the junior grand prix. it’s starting to feel like they need to start course correcting like NOW to technique that’s built to last, or we might not be getting many more seasons with her.

Kevin’s message about taking some time off 💔 this is clearly what’s best for him right now, I hope he gets some much needed rest and space from all the pressure
