How KF2 Draws Baldi (Part 1)
It’s been a while, so I thought I’d give kind of an updated walkthrough on how I draw Baldi, and general things I’ve noticed from his canon design.
I’m probably going to have to break this into parts since I’m posting all this on mobile and there’s a length limit. And I don’t wanna make you guys read a long as post.
My drawings are probably going to be really stiff and boring for these since I’m thinking more technically as I draw. Normally I try not to think too hard and prioritize expression.
Please note that this is not me saying that this is how you SHOULD draw him! Please take everything I say with a grain of salt. If you don’t like it, that’s ok! Draw him however you want. This is mainly for people who like how I draw him and want to replicate it.

Part 1: Head/Face

His eyes are really high up on his head. Note how far they are above the bottom-third indicator on the circle. Consequently, his nose is quite high on his face. I usually do whatever I want with his mouth for the sake of expression!

It helps to think of his head as an orb or orb-like shape sitting on a funnel. This is a very simple and shapey design! Don’t overthink it!
His neck is directly on the center axis of his head, and is relatively short. So no matter which direction he’s facing, his neck will always be in the center of the circle!

The bigger the pupil, the more creepy n dead-eyed he’ll appear. Kinda fish like I suppose.
His eyebrows and mouth don’t really follow the laws of physics. They do whatever! They stretch, defy gravity, warp, and do whatever it takes to convey the most appropriate expression. I usually don’t worry about stretching his skin and adding appropriate wrinkles unless I think it’ll add humor. This allows for more dynamic expressions!
With my style, I like to make the eyes bigger than they actually are, and I like bendy faces and expressions. This is completely optional
Part 2 will be his torso and limbs! I plan on part 3 being for his hands and feet. If you have any questions or feedback shoot me an ask! I’ll try and get these done asap.

OK SO
Hands.

The best way to think of his palms are as doughnuts that have been squished down. The tops and bottoms of his hands are flat! They are not orbs!

His fingers are rectangular! They are also very thin! Like his limbs, I like to indicate his joints with lines. To understand how fingers work, I’d suggest looking for further references, or your own hand!
I treat his fingers as bendy rectangles, so they kinda curve like real fingers do.
Sometimes ill draw his hands more realistically. But I almost always make his hands bigger than they actually are. (They’re actually really small…..)

-Feet
So, his feet are really tiny. I elongate these as well cause I don’t like how tiny they actually are; never looks right to me.

In canon they’re just a flat heel with a round shape thing extending from it.

But I don’t like that, so this is typically how I do feet. The foot is broken into 3 parts: the heel, the arch, and a oval things to represent where the toes would be. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll add details onto his shoes.
BUT if I’m feeling lazy, I’ll draw them much more simple and closer to the original form.

How KF2 Draws Baldi (Part 2)

OK SO
TORSO. This is very easy. It’ll be easier to grasp if you have an understanding of how shapes work in a 3D space and in perspective.

Excluding his shoulder joints, his torso length is not that much wider than his head. He’s thin! His torso is approximately 2 head tall. I usually elongate this (and consequently his arms and legs.) cause who doesn’t like a tall noodle lad.

His torso is pretty flat! Rather than being a tube, I like to think of his torso as a thin rectangle. I think this adds to the whole geometric look.

His “shoulders” are flat as well. I sorta think of it sort of as if his neck is just kinda planted in the center.
LIMBS. Sticks. ‘nough said.
-Legs

Legs are thin. Skipped leg day. Think of his upper and lower legs as tubes put together. They’re a little longer than his torso; approximately 2 and a half heads tall? Depending on the mood I treat them as either noodles are stiff sticks.

Babey got thigh gap, but don’t overdo it.

Think is typically what I’ll do. Idk why but I like to elongate his legs a bit past 2 and a half heads.
I like strongly indicating his joints with a line! I feel like it adds to the doll-ish look.
-Arms

Think of the arms the same way as the legs; thin tubes put together.
From the shoulder joint to the tip of his palms, his arms are about the same length as the torso.

Personally, be it bad practice or style, I elongate this like the rest of him.
QUICK LESSON ON TUBES IN PERSPECTIVE

I can’t draw straight line to save my life, but, see the horizon line? That’s your eye level. Where your eyes are. See the rings on tube? Think of those as segment indicators. As the rings stray further and further from the horizon line, they become more and more convexed! (Or, in simple terms, more curvy until they reach what looks like a half of a circle) this helps in drawing Baldi’s joint lines in perspective and give his limbs a little depth!
