my best male friend is my housemate and im not use to men being mature cos my ex was a very shitty person.

like my housemate and i are having issues with our internet provider and hes been helping me solve the problem. without putting me down if i have a different opinion

while if i had an issue with something and i have an idea how to solve it but if i went to my ex for advice and he has a different idea on how to solve the issue, he would make it into a bigger problem. by persuading me his solution is better than mine and put me down for having another opinion. like he wouldnt really be a team with me to solve the problem. my ex would turn it into a toxic argument competition to see whos solution is ‘better’ or right vs wrong. and then if i dont agree with my ex he would gaslight me into thinking hes the victim and the original problem hasnt even been solved
