Honestly? Shoutout to those of you who are completely fucking lost in life. Those who don’t know what they want to do with life. Those who are stuck in a certain part of life and can’t get out. Those who are reaching for dreams they feel are impossible to reach. Those who feel like they’re accomplishments are being overlooked. Those who feel like their enough just isn’t enough. It is. You can make it. You will make it. There is an opening at the end of the tunnel.

when is comes to asexuality and aromanticism you have to be okay with contradiction. one ace person will say asexuality is about not experiencing attraction, another will say it’s about not caring to act on attraction, another will say it’s not experiencing arousal. one aromantic will consider themself queer, one won’t. two people with seemingly identical experiences will use two different labels. aro people will be in romantic relationships, ace people will have sex. you get it.

Alright, to ao3's soon to be arriving Wattpad Refugees, a basic guide to general user culture:
1.) Unlike Wattpads vote system that let's you like each chapter, the ao3 equivalent kudos only allows one per work. Everyone is generally quietly annoyed about this. To engage with each chapter, you're heavily encouraged to comment. Trust me, it makes people's day.
2.) Ao3 has no algorithm. By default it's latest updated work first. You can find things to your taste through searches, filters and tags.
3.) 'No archive warnings apply' and 'user has chosen not to use archive warnings' mean two very different things. No archives warnings means the work is free from any content that could require a warning tag (character death, graphic depictions of violence, non-con, etc). User has chosen not to use archive warnings means it could contain any of the warning content, be it hasn't been explicitly tagged. Treat it like an allergen. No archive warnings apply is allergen free. User has chosen not to use archive warnings, may contain traces or whole chunks of the allergen. If you're likely to have a bad reaction, maybe don't take the risk.
4.) Speaking of warnings, ao3 has very few restrictions on the type of work that's allowed. Whatever your personal thoughts or feelings on that are, thats how the site is. You're likely to run across some dark subject matters and a lot of people are uncomfortable with reading that. You're well within your rights not like these works and have your opinion on whether they should be allowed, but harassing the authors of such works (or any works) is more likely to come back on you than them. Ao3 operates on a strong policy of 'don't like, don't read'. Use the tagging system to your full advantage to only engage with the kind of works you want to see.
We look forward to welcoming you all and seeing the fantastic works you create. Happy writing!

i know that "unalive" is part of larger worrying trend of self censorship but if you really are in a situtation where you have to avoid the words "die" or "kill" the english language already has centuries worth of much better euphemisms. the iconic and perennial "six feet under"? the lovely imagery of "pushing up daisies"? "shuffle off this mortal coil"????? literally anything from the monty python dead parrot bit???? you have so many options. please try to be more creative at least

it's not that I need a quiet day or a day off exactly; it's that I need a pocket of time that exists entirely outside of linear time as we know it that would allow me to get things done without time passing in the real world, and frankly, I don't think that's too much to ask.

Writing original fiction is like “*knocks on your door* hi hello can I interest you in this blorbo from my show, the one inside my head, if you look to your left you’ll see the towering cliffs of my their neuroses, and to your right is the scenic burning trash pile that I have lovingly placed them into…”

A summary of religion in the Sixth Sphere of Heaven: yeah, our deity walks among us and occasionally we have to endure Their Presence, but we’d really very much rather not, thanks.

He had just enough time to register the hands closing over his shoulders. Then Tempest shoved him, and he stumbled through the door into Raphael’s kitchen.
Seeing their expressions, Seikhiel started up from his chair. Akieryon said grimly, “The Lawless One was just caught in the Valley of Silence.”
“Then one of those hooded guys appeared an’ slapped him so hard he fell down!” Ragheiyont added.
“I… only saw a shadow,” Akieryon admitted. Seeing him unhappy, Tempest stepped forward.
“He bent the light,” he said with a certainty that made Akieryon suck a sharp breath through his teeth.
Ragheiyont stood for a moment fidgeting under the tension in the room, then he went and filled the kettle with water and set it on the stove. Turning a knob made flames leap up in the wrong place. With a surreptitious glance over his shoulder, Ragheiyont moved the kettle to the fire.
Akieryon related the details of what they had witnessed while Raheiyont located the little tin with the orange flowers on the wrapper. He carefully measured the tea into the strainer just how Seikhiel had shown him to do, and he grabbed the kettle from the stove when it began to make noise. He poured the water, and he brought the teapot and cups to the table.

Dragonfolk who have long lifespans start out looking kind of like elves with claws and horns and wings, but develop more and more dragon traits over time.
