so, I have no impulse control! And Chapter 1 has been beta'd (big thank you to the bullies beta testers who caught all the unhinged typos and mistakes i made <3) and I just wanted to release this so bad... so here it is! Some mistakes might still get corrected as I go, but yeah, here it is!

After all those posts showing the neat new things we’ve been improving on and adding to Our Life: Now & Forever, we’re finally ready to release an expanded version of the demo! It’s got twice as much content all around and gives a much better idea of what it’ll be like to play the finished version.

Game Premise:

Fall has settled over a quaint town high on a mountain as the story begins. But it isn’t only the leaves that are changing. You and your mother were leaving behind everything you knew before, having just moved into that well-worn house in the middle of a tight knit cul-de-sac. It’s there where a delicate paper airplane lands at your feet and leads you to unanticipated crossroads…Make your own path through life as you grow from childhood to adulthood with your two closest neighbors. Double Royal Affairs Update

Now that the beta testing for Noblesse Oblige is done, I'm back on Royal Affairs in earnest. So here is an update for all with the first half of Chapter 5 and Patreon subscribers at £6 per month or higher can now play the early access version with the whole of Chapter 5! Enjoy!

(as ever, please feel free to use save slots but it is at your own risk as variables may have changed since your save file was created. If you get an error please let me know if you're using a save slot - it'll be really helpful for me to figure out what the problem is and debug!)

New to this update:

Chapter Three is partially complete. The title is redacted because of what happens in the second half of the chapter, and it’s ~spoilery~

Depending on your choices, you’ll get to (officially) meet at least two new characters. Fun!

Additionally, people with a very poor relationship with K Delacroix no longer get the option to ride with them to the funeral at the end of Chapter 2. Sorry, I mulled it over and just couldn’t see them willing to do it. 

The option to simp for K Delacroix in early part of Chapter 2 has also, ahem, been dialled down. A new conversation with them was also introduced.

Additional notes:

I’m really sorry for the delay in the update! Motivation was a fickle thing, and time was also limited. I’d already started writing the second half of Chapter 3, but as I’m not a linear writer, they’re still in disconnected bits and pieces so I decided to put out the first half for now.

This update brings you 10,500+ words of new content, bringing the total wordcount of Citadel 123,000+ words! Unfortunately, I think you’ll have to replay starting at Case Two: Chapter One but I highly suggest you take this opportunity to make at least two save files:

> one where your intern goes to the party

> one where your intern stays home and does research

As I hinted at before, there are variable endings (three in total) to Case Two: Chapter Four, and this way you’ll get to experience all of them!

Greetings, everyone!

As promised, Chapter Six of Fields of Asphodel is now playable. Please note that for this one, I reuploaded the entire game, in order to add more save slots. There are now 12, so that should give you all plenty of room to try new things.

Be warned that I did adjust some variables in previous chapters this time, so things may break if you’re playing from an old save. That is simply the nature of the beast, I fear.

Anyway, there are 109,854 words in this new chapter, bringing the game to a grand total of 559,257 words in all so far.

In this chapter, you can:

Figure out what’s up with those weird dreams.

Take a big step (or don’t) towards full-fledged godhood

Meet (or don’t) the eccentric deity of dreams

Hang out (or don’t) with the Queen of the Gods herself

ATTOLLO (TWINE VER.) IS NOW AVAILABLE

After a very, very long time of porting, I’m proud to say that the Attollo Twine version is now up and complete at 373, 296 words. You’ll find that much of it is similar to the old version, however there have been a few tweaks made.

There are new options in Chapter 3 (Sysba + Pariah) to accommodate previous suggestions. Chapter 2 had some modifications in terms of language, as did chapter 3.

Stats have been changed and overhauled to make them easier to understand; relationship stats are now in their individual little categories under ‘Relationships’

Flirt options have little hearts to indicate that they’re flirt options (yay!)

The nightmares have been revamped to accommodate suggestions and I added some snazzy effects that I felt captured the elements well

Chapter title changes, grammar + spelling edits, tonal edits, and other such things have been completed as well.
