love people referring to the dracula offseason. i can't stop picturing exchanges like "well, we're in the offseason" "the Superbowl is literally this weekend" "no, not football. dracula"

In the golden age of the Protheans, Ilos was a verdant world, dotted with the spires and arches of magnificent cities. Even casual observation shows this is no longer the case. Ilos has been devastated by means unknown, its entire surface changed to the color of rust.

Does anyone know where the "People. People. Endless noise. And I am so tired. And I would like to sleep under trees; red ones, blue ones, swirling passionate ones" quote comes from?
I've seen it attributed to Fyodor Dostoyevsky, specifically The Brothers Karamazov, but I'm completely sure that quote is not in it. I know the text very well. In fact, I don't think Dostoyevsky ever said that. The style doesn't even seem like something he would write.
What is its true origin? Or did someone just invent it and say it's from Dostoyevsky?

Brother Gregor never spoke and often spooked the neophytes with his appearance, but he was a gentle soul and a phenomenal cook and knew more ways to prepare a fish than the abbot knew hymns

Get books and read them together! My friend group does this, switching whenever we feel like it. I used to be so mortified of reading out loud, but I've improved sooooo much. Not only do you get to spend time together, you get to experience the story in real time too. 10/10 social activity
i think it shld be more widespread for ppl to read aloud to each other as a means of spending time together. like even just a bunch of adults sitting together reading wikipedia articles or something
