Theory about why Marie, Jordan, Emma and Andre were blamed for the massacre:

It’s because of Homelander. He made a split second decision (or maybe he thought more about it, but either way he made the decision) to see Marie as the villain and then attacked her with no further thought. Because of his decision to frame her as the villain (whether intentional or not) everyone else had to go along with it.

They scapegoated Jordan, Emma and Andre because they’re friends and wouldn’t have stayed silent if Marie was held responsible. Also it’s possible Cate threw them all under the bus and gave their names when asked by Homelander.

Also, Homelander is literally on TRIAL for murdering an innocent protestor. Imagine the shit he’s going to be in if it’s found out he attacked a college student that was SAVING everyone. He’s done for politically and socially. Marie literally saved Ashley and the board of trustees moments before so they all know she’s innocent. But they can’t throw Homelander under the bus so they chose her and her friends. I honestly don’t think Homelander knows the truth (not to defend him, there’s clearly racial undertones to what happened).

But also if all he saw was Marie taking out Cate’s arm then the assumption he made isn’t that shocking. Add his racist bias in and we have a disastrous mix.

I’m not saying I support Cate and Sam’s methods, but I do support their ideology rn. Cate and Sam both were tortured and betrayed by humans so why should they hold back. I know I know people are supposed to be inherently nice but they have enough reason to not be.
