updates on jonathan majors' assault trial.
In the text messages — displayed to the jury and read into the record by Jabbari on her fourth and final day on the stand on Friday — Jabbari appears to assure Majors that she would not blame him for allegedly causing an injury to her head. “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head,” Jabbari cried as she read aloud the message in court. Then unable to continue through her tears, Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway took over: “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger pain killers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you.” In those September 2022 text messages, Majors had responded to Jabbari, threatening suicide if his then-girlfriend went to the hospital for her injured head. “Last night I considered killing myself versus coming home,” Majors wrote to Jabbari, adding: “I need love too. Or maybe I’m such a monster and horrible man, I don't deserve it. And I should just kill myself. In this way, my existence is miserable, I want to die.”

I stand with Casandra Ventura.
“After years in silence and darkness,” Ms. Ventura said in a statement, “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”
Here's a picture of Casandra with multiple bruises on her face.

However, one day later, they reached a settlement.
Sean Combs and the singer Cassie have reached a settlement just one day after she filed an explosive lawsuit accusing the hip-hop mogul of rape and numerous instances of physical abuse.
The parties announced on Friday evening that they had reached an agreement to resolve the case, though they disclosed no details about the terms of the settlement.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
In a statement, Mr. Combs said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

I stand with Keke Palmer.
On Thursday, Keke Palmer filed a temporary restraining order against her former partner Darius Jackson and requested sole custody of their 8-month-old son, Leodis. The filing, viewed by People, is rife with accusations against Jackson. Palmer alleges that on Sunday, “Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me—lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police.”  The incident began when Jackson, a former college football player and current fitness instructor, came over to take their child to a football game, but discovered the baby was with Palmer’s sister visiting family. They argued, and Jackson allegedly “knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands, and then ran out of the house.” This, the filing states, was captured on Palmer’s home security system and will be played in court during a hearing. When Palmer went outside to get the phone Jackson “nearly hit me with his car.” The Los Angeles County judge granted a temporary restraining order, which says that Jackson must stay 100 yards away from both the actress and their son. She was also granted temporary sole custody, according to People.
In a response her ex boyfriend leaked an audio where Keke admits hitting him back, now he is trying to use DARVO and paint her the abuser. Sounds familiar, right?

Three more man were accused this week:
“Enduring sexual assault is one of the worst things that could have possibly happened to her, but then to have images of it captured forever and circulated on the internet and sold for profit — it just really altered the trajectory of her career and her life,” said her lawyer, Ms. Guentert.

The Deal With Denim Day
TRIGGER WARNING: sexual assault
Tumblr media
‘Denim Day’ offered everyone a chance to stand with victims of sexual violence, simply by wearing jeans
Photo via NBC News
By Katrina Ross Rodriguez
With April being Sexual Assault Awarness month, it is crucial to highlight Denim Day. This day, celebrated this year on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 is one of solidarity and support for survivors of sexual assault.
The origin of Denim Day begins in Rome, Italy 1992 where an 18-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her 45-year-old driving instructor. She reported the rape and he was arrested, convicted and sentenced to six months in jail. In 1999, the driving instructor appealed the sentence, claiming it was consensual. The Italian Supreme Court repealed the conviction, arguing that due to the victim wearing tight jeans, she had to have helped him remove them. In doing this, it was considered consensual sex. This was coined as the “jeans alibi.” The women in the Italian Parliament protested by wearing jeans in front of the Supreme Court. This call to action was spread internationally and wearing jeans has become a symbol of protest against the damaging myths surrounding sexual assault and rape.
The day was first established by “Peace Over Violence”, an organization created in 1971 which aims to prevent domestic and sexual violence and abuse. Many others have followed in recognizing Denim Day. Countless of campaigns held in schools, organizations, corporations and events have sparked discussion and awareness around sexual assault. In a multitude of ways, it serves as not only a time to flaunt your favourite pair of jeans, but also as a way to demonstrate our care for survivors and our willingness to hear their experiences.
An estimate of 1 in 3 women and 1 in 8 men have experienced sexual abuse or assault in their lifetime. Protesting against the stigma and misconceptions about sexual assault, rape, harassment and violence is a step towards showing solidarity for survivors and supporting them. Actions such as encouraging survivors to speak or reach out for help, reporting acts of harassment, assault or violence, or disabling jokes that promote victimization, degradation  sexist attitudes or the removal of autonomy, are simply a few ways we can put an end to the harm that rape culture induces.

Also attached as evidence are two June 2022 voicemails left by Smithline to a friend in which she claims that Warner’s attorney, Howard King, had called to speak to her “one on one” and that she believed he wanted her to retract her allegations. “Don’t repeat this to anyone. I swear to God, don’t say this to anyone … but I did get a private message on my cellular telephone from Marilyn Manson’s lawyer saying, `I was wondering if we could just talk,'” Smithline said in the voicemail. “The only reason he’d be calling me… is that he thinks I’m the weak link and he might want to settle with me to turn on the other girls and say that it was all a ruse.”

wonder how many people are going to be put off from donating to planned parenthood and end up accidentally donating to their local crisis pregnancy center instead. like i'm sorry but if you think planned parenthood is doing just fine, research is clearly not your forte

When members of The Satanic Temple see criticism of them and their failed efforts in the name of abortion rights, they often say, “Well, at least they’re doing something.”
Yes, what they’re doing is actively making things worse and making money off of it.
“The Satanic Temple is not going to save you.”
