my parents on my day of birth, probably: when is this baby going to start paying rent, does it think it can just live in our house? for free? who's going to find a way to threaten it with being kicked out also if it doesn't stop crying I'll give it something to cry about

i'm leaving the post up but please don't ask me to turn reblogs back on for now. i explain why in the replies but honestly yall got very annoying lol
like beyond the scope of just music… a lot of white tumblr users talk to me like you genuinely don't consider the fact there is a world outside of what you personally experience. a lot of people responding to me on here can't handle the idea that there are things they don't know and could stand to learn about the world around them. And it's not about whether or not I can get you personally to listen to things that aren't video game soundtracks or whatever, digging in your heels about remaining ignorant about the pov of other cultures is an extremely dangerous mindset to encourage.
frankly I regret even giving yall the out of suggesting music that doesn't deal with themes of violence or sex, because i'm realizing a lot of you cannot handle anything that makes you uncomfortable in any way and you need to grow out of that. A lot of you do need to listen to music about shit that 'scares you and makes you uncomfy', because if you can't even handle a 2 minute song about the reality other people's struggles I don't believe you have the ability to care about it in real life! There is no meaningful conversation about art that I can have with somebody who can't engage with anything that isn't escapism modeled around their specific comfort.
no matter how righteous and unproblematic and knowledgeable you think you are, the process of learning new things, realizing sometimes your ideas are wrong and going out of your comfort zone is never ever going to be over. you are going to live a very sad, very shallow and small life if you freak out about ever being expected to learn or change

when my brother and i were kids we got in trouble for using the term "dadding" to mean making a promise you have no intent to follow thru on which is a testament to this country's disdain for creative types

this is a positivity post for masculine trans people.
shoutout to masculine transmascs/trans men. Your masculinity is not evil, it is not bad, it is not toxic. You are allowed to be happy finally getting to be masculine. You are allowed to want a deeper voice, or facial hair, or to look stereotypically masculine. You do not have to be a 'softboi'; that aesthetic is only for people who want it.
shoutout to masculine transfems/trans women. Your masculinity is not evil, it is not 'faking your transness', you do not owe anyone femininity just because of your gender. You are allowed to present masculine and still speak up when you're misgendered; it's not 'your fault', and being a masculine transfem is wonderful.
shoutout to masculine trans people who aren't transfem or transmasc; you deserve to have your gender and pronouns respected even if your gender isn't masculine. You are not bad being masculine. you are allowed to be masculine, and your masculinity is good.
Masculine trans people are not bad, they not scary, and they deserve love and respect.
