Robin's assumption would be correct. Mizu was just passing through and this was quickest way to reach her destination instead of having to take a longer route through a nearby village.

"I see..." While she did not believe in superstitions like yokai, she was not so foolhardy to believe that forest was not dangerous. Wild animals. Bandits. While she was reluctant to accept the woman's help, she seemed to know this forest. Perhaps it would prove beneficial to have her lead her through it.

Blue eyes traveled to the blade resting at the woman's hip. A fellow sword wielder? Interesting... "I would appreciate you showing me the way. I just hope you're not expecting any compensation for you being my guide, I'm a little short on money."

It was never pleasant, dealing with those who were so sure of themselves and their foolhardiness. Robin had dealt with plenty of swordsmen who believed they could handle whatever laid within the Lost Woods, laughing off the girl's attempts at saving their hides.

Though, this stranger didn't seem to be that brazen to go running headlong into danger. They probably were just passing through, rather than chasing a bounty or treasure.

"There's hordes of yokai within this forest. It's not safe to travel through here at this hour, especially not alone." Appearing from the bracken, the wolf girl's own hand rests on a blade at her hip, clothes billowing upon the evening wind.

"I suggest turning back, or at least allow me to accompany you to the outskirt trails."

This woman was persistent, Mizu would give her that. She stared at the blonde for a few moments before releasing a defeated sigh and nodded her assent.

"....Fine." She relented, and carefully grabbed onto Liz's arm, trying to use whatever strength she had left to stand into a more upright position. Mizu supposed she should consider herself lucky for the woman's assistance. Even if she was hesitant to accept help from others.

The sudden loud shout caused the woman to jump , her eyes wide and staring directly at her , completely unwavering. Gosh , she’d never seen anything like this before . . it worried her , made her afraid ? Not for herself , but for the stranger in front of her .

“ I-It doesn’t seem likely . . . ! “

She flapped her wrists a few times , looking around in a semi panicked state . Taking a few deep breaths , the blonde carefully squatted down next to her .

“ Please , h-hold onto me . . . at least let me help you move somewhere safer than this . . . “ she insisted . There wasn’t any possible way someone could be safe bleeding out in an alley , that just didn’t seem possible !

That...was probably the first time someone had ever verbally acknowledged that she was human. It felt odd to actually hear it from another's lips after so many years. She had truly begun to believe that she was a demon. An onyro.

Blue eyes slid down to the wallet. A hand revealed itself from under her cloak as she reached out for it, hesitating only a moment before grabbing and lifting it up to inspect it. It certainly looked foreign to her. It had to be Western-made.

Her gaze snapped back to Kuwako and her eyes narrowed. Revenge, hm? He seemed pretty adamant about keeping up his 'demon' act. At first she wondered if it was all a metaphor for his life, but the way he spoke...It was as if he truly believed he was a demon. "I'm not stupid." She bit out. Mizu then wondered if it was because he had attained his revenge and amassed a bit of power for himself that he thought he was untouchable. He was no better than the apathetic lords who sat upon their wealth and were content to let the people struggle.

She had no problem humbling him a bit.

"Not a costume? Let's test that." With speed that only be described as inhuman, the samurai had drawn her sword and slashed Kuwako's arm off.

The fox devil leaned his face into his hand, a wide fanged smile gracing his mouth. "I knew that that man was Fowler. I knew that someone with blue eyes that people called demon was chasing after him... The second you stepped into this building, I made the connection and you've just confirmed that for me. But they were wrong, you're not a demon at all you're a human."

Kuwako put the wallet down on the table between them, sliding it toward her with one finger. "You could say I took a gamble on that assumption."

Long fluffy ears twitched. "Humans are all the same to me, you included, I see no difference. What I didn't know before was why you were so desperate to find him but... that look in your eyes, it's nostalgic. You want revenge don't you...yes it reminds me of myself when I was human.."
