Orochimaru is just a wild concept of a character because he’s introduced as the major villain and then gets taken out shortly into the timeskip and then comes back and then gets taken out basically immediately and then comes back again to help the good guys but only because he thinks it’ll be interesting and then when all the bullshit is over he’s just there. Fresh as a daisy. Unable to die at any hands but his own.

And everyone’s so tired of his shit that when he’s like “I think I’m going to go be a soccer mom” they don’t even try to kill him like he really honestly probably deserves by the standards of the continent, they’re just like “As long as you go away, we don’t even care anymore. Please leave.”

And this horrifying villain from the first arc is now that one soccer mom at the PTA meetings that laughs at you from behind a hand and you can’t even do anything about it because even the strongest guy in your village is just like “I don’t fucking know” when it comes to solving the recurring problem that is Orochimaru’s boredom.
