here r some dragons i finished lately

#flight rising #dragon share #multigaze #i have not been very productive but thats ok #i did get all the apparels i need for my project which is #arguably the most annoying part of finishing a project #if you dont wanna spend over MP prices lol #(which i did end up doing on a few pieces anyway cos i got tired of refreshing the MP) #(likewise i was going to get all the coli apparel myself but i quickly gave up on that because id rather play stardew valley than coli tbh)

my lil guys & the way i'm choosing to interpret them

antlers would not be conducive to a subterranean lifestyle, so i'm interpreting them as branched antennae/sensory organs. dusthides with the antlers gene are often nestkeepers- the thicker fur helps to keep eggs and young hatchlings warm in the cool underground, while the 'antlers' allow them to detect small changes indicating dangers or distressed hatchlings.

their bodies are closer to armor-plated badgers or weasels (depending on the individual) than armadillos, but armadillo-like ears help them detect the slightest sound or vibration from the surface above. some individuals have larger or smaller dewclaws, some even appearing to have only the large digging claws. they use these claws for breaking into termite mounds and anthills.

their wings are too small and their bodies too dense to fly- their wings are more often used to scrape dirt from the sides of tunnels. their tails are flat and somewhat curved, used to scoop out piles or dirt or pack it tightly to strengthen walls or smooth out floors.

Everyone is saying this ancient is releasing without lore, but it sounded more like they’re just not releasing it with an accompanying short story? I assume it’ll still get an encyclopedia entry - which is where the bulk of the breed lore comes from anyway. Am I just reading the announcement a little too generously lol?

#tbh hot take but lore doesn’t mean anything to me or how I play #it’s a fun little feature but if we never got another short story I wouldn’t be bothered lol #I just feel like people are being a bit … Dramatic about this #back in my day we got a breed encyclopedia entry and nothing else and we were HAPPY ABOUT IT 👴🏻 #I’d rather know they’re taking time to reduce breed/gene errors on release tbh

also i finally finished some other fandragonz for the first time in ever lol
