My only question is why did you draw mark as Lucifer????? ( https://bonnieiscool.tumblr.com/post/689994188391120896/god-why-is-only-when-i-draw-him-my-art-improves ) (It looks great and gives me gender envy I just never expected that image to be something I'd see)

HIII hehe I’m so glad you asked!

To put it simply

In my head canons for Mark that he was a golden child who fell off of his pedestal, in his parents eyes of course

But put it not so simply

When he was child he was very much the golden child out of his four siblings, at least in his father’s eyes

Mark’s mother was never really cared for him, always preferring the eldest child and his younger two siblings, but with Mark, for reasons that he learned later in his life, she never really gave him that much affection

But one thing to note about his father was that he was very conservative and very religious, not a very good combo when all of a sudden

Mark stopped asking for dresses.. he stopped asking for Barbie’s but for toys similar to his brothers, wanting to wear suits and ties just like his father

Of course everyone goes through that phase, if his father just kept on pushing him he was sure that Mark would grow up to be a proper woman

Plus he still did everything that was told, focused on his studies, only bringing home perfect grades, and he was in many extracurricular activities as well, no sports but ballet and cello practice were the big ones

But of course not everything can go as planned. Sometimes people don’t get the memo, some people being Mark

But it wasn’t Mark’s fault, it was his friends.. That boy Scott ( 1 out of 2 of my neighbor Tords) Mark’s father has seen how that boy talks to other boys, he knows he’s not normal, that he’s wrong, but he also saw that his perfect little angel was getting closer and closer to Scott

So Marks father demands that he stay away from him, and that if he didn’t, not only would be confined to his room, but he would also have everything monitored even more than it already was, from his everyday meals to the outfits he wore, every second his father had to know about just to make sure he wasn’t spending time with that rotten boy

Yet Mark couldn’t listen to his father, he had to continue to reach out to Scott

Scott had already helped Mark realize so much about himself, why it felt so wrong whenever someone called him beautiful in an outfit that he just wanted to rip off of his body.. or when chest started to grow and he could no longer wear clothing that fit him without him feeling that he looked wrong, that he felt wrong.

He was also the one who helped Mark pick out his name, Mark gotten his way he would’ve picked Edgar, Lewis, or William

But no Scott just had to say “How about.. Mark.. because, well you’re right on the Mark.. You’re perfect, is what I mean- that sounded better in my head.” God was he cheesy, but that’s what Mark loved about him, so after laugh over how stupid that sounded, and a kiss for how sweet it was at the same time.. Mark had finally felt that he was.. Him..

He was Mark..

But he wasn’t the only one who found out..

Remember Mark has two younger siblings, twins named Emilio and Miguel

And they weren’t satisfied with just their Mother’s love, no they wanted their fathers love more than anything in this world

So when they heard the name Mark come around when Eduardo and Jon had visited, they knew something had to be up with the the golden child and this new person

So one night when they heard Mark claim that he had band practice later that day, the two boys had asked their mother if they could go to the neighbors to play, of course they were allowed and off they went

Watching and waiting until they saw their sibling walk out of the house, rolling his cello behind him

they followed him, staying behind and hidden

Now Mark didn’t notice this, how could he? He was so excited to see Scott- and his other friends of course. Sure he had to lie to leave his father, but it’s not like anyone knew.. plus.. Scott had told him earlier that his binder had arrived today!! God he couldn’t wait to see himself in the mirror, not Victoria, just Mark..

Though maybe if he kept his excitement contained, even just a little bit, his thoughts wouldn’t be so loud

He would’ve heard the pitter-patter that followed him all the way to Scott’s house

He would paid attention when two sets of eyes stared at him as he walked inside and kissed Scott, all while being called Mark- and handsome- and-

Words that his brothers knew he wasn’t supposed to be called..

Then maybe when he got home

Be father wouldn’t have been as angry,

He wouldn’t have gotten into the argument, and screamed all of those things towards his father

He wouldn’t have been dragged out of the house and thrown out, being told only to return when he came to his senses and understood that he will never be Mark. He will never be a man, he will always be his perfect little Victoria, his perfect daughter..

Mark did return, but when he knew his father wasn’t there, he grabbed only the important things, like his id, birth certificate, and other legal documents while he knew that neither of his parents were there

He left as soon as possible, of course with his luck he had a bit of a run in with his mother, who only berated him as he left…

that was the last time Mark had any sort of contact with any of his relatives

But yea,,, he has this connection to Lucifer in the way that, they were both the favorites who got casted away because their father was displeased with something about them, may it be an action or expressing their true self
