What was your biggest highlight in the InJest Festival?: "Saturday night. The woman performing who was doing Bouffon style. She was wearing all black. The theme was women's sexuality. That was one of the best clown turns that I had ever seen!

Priscilla Costa's, 'Mona Monaé' in her bouffon clown turn at the 'InJest Festival of Clown & Play' brought the house down! Simply put Monaé was right on the money! She brought wonderful, skillful playfulness and great audience rapport into a brilliant and dynamic balance between devilish provocation and a mother's embrace. Priscilla's Mona Monaé danced effortlessly through multiple feminine archetypes in a manner that both celebrated and skewered them, and ultimately transcended them as she zeroed in to the heart of how "innocently" hypocritical human beings can behave under the influence of their desire and in the face off between their spirituality and their sexuality. The audience leapt to their feet with delight and satisfaction. More Monaé please!"

Artist Bio (short version)
In 2001 Priscilla got her first taste of clown at a workshop led by Cirque du Soliel’s Massimo Agostinelli, who now boasts her as his ‘Bouffon protégé’. Over the years Priscilla has trained with North America’s foremost clown / comedy performers and teachers. Her training has spring-boarded her solo work in festivals, cabarets and solo shows throughout Vancouver and Victoria. Some include: Vancouver Fringe Festival, Radix Theatre, Second City’s Next Comedy Legend, LIVE Biennale Performance Art Festival, Theatre Under The Gun, and most recently Atomic Vaudeville. She’s thrilled to be in the Toronto Festival of Clowns this June 2015. Next up: Semana dos Palhaços in Evora, Portugal, then back home to perform ‘Mona Monaé’ in The 2015 Vancouver Fringe Festival.
