“We get lot people who just want to have their 15 minutes of school fame, and I need someone at least cares a little bit about the show...” She hung her head, at this rate she would never get to be Belle.

“You seem really unhappy with that, pound cake,” he said. “Do you think anyone outside of theater isn’t great at acting?”

He smirked. He hated seeing her upset, so he hoped some light teasing would cheer her up.

“None of them can commit the time to a full production like this,” she ran a finger over her short brown hair, “I hate to say it but we have to but might have to put out a casting call for him...”

“Meh, Cheerleaders aren’t really my cup of tea,” he said. “They’re too easy. Just be popular, or on the football team, and they’ll basically jump on you. I like more of a challenge.”

He flashed a smirk at her at his last sentence. 

He stood up and walked over to her, “so, what play are you guys doing this year? Your last one was great, but the male lead sucked. What was his name? Farto?”

“Beauty and The Beast...”  She replied “and Fargo is still getting over some stage shyness so we’re a bit at a loss for who can play Beast,” she lamented out loud letting her arms to the side.

“Meh, Cheerleaders aren’t really my cup of tea,” he said. “They’re too easy. Just be popular, or on the football team, and they’ll basically jump on you. I like more of a challenge.”

“Humph you just did it to show off, you peacock” Oddette huffed rolling her eyes, trying to calm down the redness in her cheeks “don’t you have some cheerleaders to feel-up?”  She used to have a crush on Tim, thinking he was handsome when she was a little girl but as they got older she didn’t like how cocky and mean he got especially to less popular students like the drama kids.

“Haha, made you blush!” He chuckled. 

He spun around and sat down in one of the audience chairs, “Odette, I’ve been visiting the theater ever since you joined it. Actually, don’t you remember those plays we had when we were kids? Everyone had to join them. I usually got the male lead of course.” He puffed out his chest, like a chicken flaunting its feathers. 

“I think I did pretty well,” he said. For the most part he had, but he would always mess it up by teasing the Pinefields that were on stage with him, making them mad and making them break character. He usually got into trouble over it, but he never cared. He just wanted to have fun.

Back then all it took was a wink for the Pinefield girls to swoon and be his friend again. Now that they were older, they were used to it and usually ignored him. Sometimes he could get under their skin and make them mad, which made him laugh.
