I have to go through and delete a bunch of old accounts but I'm suuuper lazy about doing so, honestly. I hardly use social media anymore. I use this tumblr sparingly, youtube for educational learning, occasionally instagram-- but that's about it. The only other thing I use at all pertains to being a widow because I like need support in that area.
Before my partner passed, I stopped using social media all together. I was so happy and engaging in so many hobbies. Once I got sick and then he died, though, I found myself using it again. Primarily for distraction I think. It's not very good for me to do but I do it
Agreed. I've gone up and down, back and forth with learning to code. I love it but sometimes I need a break/get down on myself/ etc. I always find myself coming back to it though and I think that's what's important.
Like an example.. I had it all worked out, was super excited to start coding again. There's still a private blog I was building a theme for, that I worked all day long on for a hot minute. But things happened.. I got sick. I started coming back to it again and then became bereaved / widowed out of nowhere.
So right now, I'm not confident. I've lost most of my abilities, forgot a lot of what I learned, and my motivation is below zero. The key at least to me is to come back to it and try again. And again. Eventually it will stick more.
Essentials You Need to Become a Web Developer
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Mastery
Text Editor/Integrated Development Environment (IDE): Popular choices include Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text.
Version Control/Git: Platforms like GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket allow you to track changes, collaborate with others, and contribute to open-source projects.
Responsive Web Design Skills: Learn CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Flexbox and master media queries
Understanding of Web Browsers: Familiarize yourself with browser developer tools for debugging and testing your code.
Front-End Frameworks: for example : React, Angular, or Vue.js are powerful tools for building dynamic and interactive web applications.
Back-End Development Skills: Understanding server-side programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby , php) and databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB)
Web Hosting and Deployment Knowledge: Platforms like Heroku, Vercel , Netlify, or AWS can help simplify this process.
Basic DevOps and CI/CD Understanding
Soft Skills and Problem-Solving: Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Confidence in Yourself: Confidence is a powerful asset. Believe in your abilities, and don't be afraid to take on challenging projects. The more you trust yourself, the more you'll be able to tackle complex coding tasks and overcome obstacles with determination.

Gooooodmorning. I managed to study a little bit yesterday and I'm back to it again today. Yesterday I focused a lot on physics and astronomy. I think I'll do some more of it today and maybe some of a JS course
Progress lately has been pretty slow, but going alright otherwise! We've added in some new enemies and fancy looking particle effects! Dotty's movement has also been tweaked a bit so she feels less heavy and more like she did in the Gameboy demo.
A team of astronomers has used the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to discover the most distant and oldest black hole ever seen as it feasts upon its host galaxy.
The discovery could be a massive step forward in understanding how supermassive black holes reached masses equivalent to millions of billions of times that of the sun in the very early epochs of the universe.
Something I hate is when you just want to use something simple, like a widget, and they're like :) make an account :) give me your email :) make. :) an. :) account. :)
no?? it's one thing if I know I'll be using the site/application/whatever frequently. but sometimes users just need something for temporary usage and shouldn't have to make an account for something that DOESN'T require it.
I think I'm going to build a little notion template today, It's been a long time. I prefer using a pen and paper style planner for many things. But it'll be good for me to work on stuff.
I started using Mimo on my phone for little bits of learning through the day! It's proving to be helpful. Days where getting up is hard, sometimes doing just a little bit of something is better than nothing.
There's something about grief that simultaneously inspires and drains you all at once. I want to code and work on projects so badly but I can't focus. I think I'm going to start off in small increments, maybe a 30 minute session every day.
Lately I haven't been able to do.. well.. much. I get my daily tasks (cleaning, eating, self care) done but everything else... not so much. Logically that's going to have to change though.
