there’s got to be at least one trans woman named eve out there whose deadname is adam. and she’s the funniest person to ever grace this earth with her presence.
The idea of the Batkids doing normal people things while suited up is hilarious to me, you know, like Red Robin and Spoiler making the 9 o'clock news while racing through a grocery store because they totally forgot to get the things Alfred asked them to bring for the family dinner. Or Damian and Dick swinging into the Bludhaven Zoo mid-patrol because Dami really wanted to see the new baby tiger. Red Hood buying lemonade from a kid's stand and then standing there awkwardly messing with his helmet, trying not to hurt the kid's feelings. Black Bat, on a particularly tiring day randomly appeared in the nosebleeds of the ballet hall and started sniping phones out of people's hands. Or Signal and a deeply irritated Batman changing out a blown-out tyre in some back alley, earning amused looks.
thinking about superbat confession where Clark has known for years, because he can literally hear Bruce's heartbeat, but he's been waiting for Bruce to say something. he knows. he's known the whole time, but he also knows Bruce doesn't want him to know, that Bruce is constantly turning away from and shoving down the evidence of his own desire. and maybe it's selfish to keep this to himself, not just to want to be wanted, but to wish that Bruce wanted to want him. to wait for Bruce to tell Clark not as an admission of some shameful secret but as something that brings him joy.
Clark (despite being an alien from outer space who can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes) has a streak of pragmatism. he knows the man he fell in love with. he keeps his own counsel, and he waits. he listens to the triphammer of Bruce's heart. Bruce will come to him when he's ready.
Important not to mess up the timeline when doing time travel shit and meeting your younger self but that doesn't mean you can't make bad jokes about future trauma they have no clue about
Drafted a couple posts because I'm not sure how to say this. Young people are inexperienced and frequently obnoxious. This has always been true. Cultural shifts and new technology only mean they will be inexperienced and obnoxious in different, more visible ways. You aren't beating the grumpy old hater allegations by cloaking your kids-these-days bitching in tiktok scapegoating and alleged youth tech illiteracy.
You have forgotten all the embarrassing ways you were inconsiderate at 18. You might still be your old manager's go-to anecdote for crazy oblivious interns. All the forums you posted on begging for answers instead of reading the fucking sticky or googling it are lost to time. But nah this generation is uniquely stupid and rude, for real this time.
