hi!! i finished reading most of your griffguts fics as someone who has never read/watched berserk (i plan to, but i fear the brain rot that will come with it and how i won’t be able to dedicate much time to it because of my schedule), and i absolutely adore them.

i’m usually not a big fan of reading incomplete fics, but because your writing style is so beautiful and perfectly descriptive, i think i’m gonna give your big griffguts fic a try! i have a good feeling i’ll be satisfied either way just because i’m enamored with the way you write/characterize these guys, even if i don’t know them from canon (i can already tell how they’ll be like because you wrote them so well!)

i don’t really know the point of this ask, but i guess i just felt like complimenting you and to reassure you can take your time! i’m excited to see you’re still writing more for griffguts, but no worries if irl things get in the way and you can’t find the motivation anymore. i appreciate the amount that you’ve written already and will cherish each and every single one of your posts! ❤️❤️❤️

i feel like you have one of the first romantic cannibalism fics id ever read, and now that trope is everywhere. did u get the idea from somewhere, or was the trend just around earlier than i thought??? love ur fics also

nah i had the idea for a long time, like since 2017. but you know me, it takes me forever to actually write anything. to be honest i think the whole cannibalism as a metaphor for love thing has gotten extremely corny lmfao... i dont think the metaphorical implications of eating someone are anything new or particularly interesting bc i mean look at christian ritualistic pseudo-cannibalism and the connection to love there. but im less interested in the consumption aspect of it than i am in the fact of like "we did something fucked up together and now its our secret." in that fic, it was less about guts eating a piece of griffith than it was about griffith CONVINCING guts to do it. do u know what i mean? im personally a lot more interested in inversions of typical power dynamics like that. like killing someone then eating them is one (to me, kind of flat and straightforward) thing. but being in a high stress survival situation, convincing someone to eat you for their survival, getting some kind of pleasure in watching them do it but also FORCING them to do it, is a lot more interesting. it turns what you would think of as the typical power dynamics of cannibalism (perpetrator and victim) on its head and complicates it.

hey! ya sorry i went so mia its been a busy year. im still working on fic but its slow. from when i last updated trotw to april i was working 3 jobs, taking a full uni courseload, and writing my thesis. the thesis in particular honestly burned me out on writing really badly but i did manage to write that one oneshot

then summer was just shit honestly lol. i spent the entire summer working at a restaurant to save up money bc i had to move away in september, and the shift i had started at 6am, so i was almost never awake during my peak writing hours (11pm to 3am). i lost 30lbs in 2 months partially because i was broke and partially because my eating disorder relapsed (probably from stress lol). during that time i was only eating one meal a day in the form of my free staff lunch at work, but the restaurant where i worked was INFESTED WITH MICE :))))) so half the time i was too disgusted to eat thinking there might be rodent shit mixed into my food lol. and then on my days off i just ate like eggs and rice and zucchini bc thats what i got from the food bank. in august i started really genuinely and consciously restricting my calories down to like 500-800 cals per day, plus working on my feet as a waitress doing like 20k steps a day as a result of the malnutrition and rapid weight loss my hair started falling out in massive clumps :))) and i started sleeping for like 12 hrs a day. im eating properly now ofc tho

i moved in september for grad school and am now living in one of the most expensive cities in the world lol so i spend a lot of time just financially struggling. i have a job that will last until the end of december but its under contract so i only make like $600 a month and have to rely on my $14k school stipend and meagre savings for the rest. ive been looking for another job but i either get no interview, have the interviewer ghost me, or most recently, get told i have the job and then just never get scheduled. i have 7 cents in my checking account rn lol. my rent is paid until next month and then after that who knows whats gonna happen to me

last years output was definitely a fluke and only happened bc i was VERYYYY financially stable and could fuck around a lot at my part time job, where i wrote most of trotw. those sunny days are gone 🚬🚬 lol but i dont intend to abandon my works and i promise they will come someday. if anyone here feels like paying my rent itll come EVEN faster!!!

Read the preview of the next chapter, and it destroyed me. Gideon is a good guy who just draws the short straw repeatedly. He actually cares for Elliot, who eventually gets him killed, directly or indirectly. ...Is he still gonna die in this fic? :'(

i debated whether i should answer this question fully or not bc im worried about spoilers but ig this one doesnt matter too much... so no, gideon wont die. this is a bad thing for elliot, tho. i always felt like in canon, gideons random murder was almost an act of god. he was pretty much the only person with enough evidence to get angela and elliot into HUGE trouble for the hack, since he knew they were both directly involved. he died literally days before he had the chance to go to the fbi about it, and as a result, elliot avoided being so directly tied to 5/9 for a while longer. in a way, elliot got super lucky that gideon died.

however, in my fic, elliot is about to be forced into a position where he basically has no choice but to reveal his criminal side to gideon more directly. after all gideons done to try and help him in this fic, thats gonna be a huge slap in the face. gideon wont die, but you have to wonder... after being used, betrayed, and having his business ruined by elliot, will gideon go to the police with everything he knows? he has the potential to be a huge problem for tyrell and elliot now.

what writing of yours are you most proud of? do you have a favourite piece?

thanks for the ask! ok so its actually not a fic lol but in grade 9 i skipped class literally every day to write an original novel longer than crime & punishment that i named decay depleted. it was about a vampire living in a nuclear wasteland after a major world war that ended with mutually assured destruction. for the first time in like 300 years she could finally walk around outside in the daytime because the sky was so thick with fallout and dust it blocked out the sun. she spends the novel essentially wandering around starving and looking for humans still surviving in underground bunkers and subway stations who have avoided death by radiation. vampires arent particularly strong or powerful in this setting so the bulk of the intrigue is the various ways she manipulates her way into these human communities (usually by pretending to be hurt, or by saying she has food to trade, or by impersonating a government official/soldier, etc). quite often she receives an invitation inside, sometimes shes shot at and has to flee.

after a while, every human survivor community she comes across is either dead or so sick from radiation that theyve become inedible to her. the vampire begins to grow very afraid because she knows she'll go extinct alongside humanity, and for an undead immortal creature with no lifespan, the thought of nothingness is terrifying.

the novel ends with her finding the bunker of a billionaire politician who had spent years accumulating supplies for his apocalypse prepper paradise. she formulates a huge elaborate plan as to how she will get inside, assuming that he probably has guards, weapons, cctv, etc, but is shocked to find it seems completely isolated. when she finally makes it in, the bunker stinks and is empty aside from mountains and mountains of canned food and water bottles, and the politician in the middle, who killed himself months ago. she collapses from hunger in a room full of food she can't eat, finally succumbing to the reality that she is going to die.

theres a lot of parallels in the story between vampires/rich ppl as a parasite class in terms of their literal predation on poor people. the vampires manipulative ways of gaining entry to human settlements all reflect different forms of soft/hard power. the humans she encounters are either so desperate for resources that theyre willing to put themselves in danger for them, or so empathetic to the plight of others that their kindness is taken advantage of by monsters, or so subservient to authority that theyll let anyone claiming to be a cop or soldier in. however, by the end of it, the vampire begins to feel rage towards the billionaire politician for representing the sort of capricious bourgeois suicide a manmade politically driven apocalypse the nuclear war ultimately represents. her final thoughts are that she could potentially take some of the politicians wasted supplies and redistribute it amongst the other human survivors in order to ensure their ongoing survival, and thus her own. but its probably too late, and most of them have either starved to death or died from radiation poisoning. and besides, her hunger has made her so, so tired.

anyways i dont rly think this is like the best thing ive ever written by any means but the concept was cool and i had fun creating it. also it does kind of crack me up that when i was 14 i spent 8 months skipping school to write a novel and now it just sits on my google drive lol:
