Hi. This is a message regarding what has happened with the lockdown.

I am being accused of sending the anonymous messages. Which is just not true.

While I may not be behind the admins on every rule they have made, I have been behind them on every plot change and progression they’ve have done since they beginning.

I have never sent anonymous hate messages in my life unless it was IC and asked for by the mod. I’ve been a target of anonymous hate before and I know how awful it can be.

Every time I have had issues with something happening that I didn’t agree with, I have handled it off anon and with the people it was with. I’ve gone to the admins more than once when things have called for it. I may not have been the most tactful with my words. But I have never resorted to anonymous messages.

For over a year now I have seen the players of the rp as my friends and my family. When the OOC shut down for the revamp, I miss you all so much. Even just the past day and a half without y’all to talk to has been driving me crazy. I would never do anything to  jeopardize my friendships with anybody in the role play.

That all being said, the admin team feels I was the one who sent those messages and they aren’t believing anything I say otherwise. I wish I could defend myself and say who actually send those messages. But I was just as shocked as everyone else when those came up.

So, my friends I guess this is goodbye. I will truly miss all of you.

Caleb didn’t answer her question, unsure if she really expected an answer. Either way, the answer he had wasn’t exactly a nice one. His ex seemed to be more oblivious to things than he was and he was sure if he didn’t act too odd, Isak never would have suspected anything. After all, none of his exes or even his currently boyfriend suspected anything off about him. When he wanted to, he could keep any secret. “I’m good at keeping secrets.” He sighed, scrunching his nose a little. “This is a mistake I never wanted to make...but I couldn’t keep my hands off Silas. I wanted him so bad it hurt.” His cheeks flushed red at the memory as well as the confession.

Caleb fidgeted with the ears of his stuffed animal, mainly so he could focus on something other than the seriousness of the conversation. “Except he was…everything was fine for Isak up until I broke up with him. He didn’t even noticed I was acting weird..” The words came out almost bitterly. “I didn’t mean for it to happen the way it did with Silas. We were just hanging out and then…I don’t know. It was happening and I didn’t want it to stop.” Again, he reached up, wiping at his cheeks, feeling nothing but shame. “I feel like all I do is make mistakes.”

“For a little while. How do you think if it had been months and months like that? He’d notice eventually,” she pointed out. “And you are very good at hiding when you’re acting weird or feel strange. Remember, I thought everything was peachy and fine too,” she added with a shake of her head. She picked up another stuffed animal, bopping Caleb on the nose with it. “Everyone makes mistakes. I don’t think we ever stop making them. But we can learn from them. It’s okay to make them.”

Caleb thought about his parents and how unhappy they both seemed, that they only stayed together so his dad could keep whatever reputation among the medical board and other aristocats they associated with. It was never something he wanted. “My parents aren’t happy together. Umma was so much happier before she married Dad.” He said, quietly. “The more I think about my relationship with Isak...the more I question why we were even together.” His words were hushed, as if he didn’t even want the walls overhearing his confessions. “Convenience maybe. Loneliness? I did like him a lot when we were dating and it was a good relationship. But...I don’t know. I never felt for him what I did in any of my other relationships.”

Caleb only nodded along with her words, knowing that his best friend was completely right. No matter how much he wanted to argue, Minnie always seemed to be right. “Silas said the same thing…said it never would have worked out with Isak because he wasn’t giving me what I needed.” He sighed a little, still regretting how everything had gone down. It wasn’t something he even fully agreed with until the strong desire to be with Silas again hit him when he was still with Isak. “I didn’t know I wasn’t happy with him until I started hanging around Silas more and more…I can be myself around him in ways I couldn’t with all my exes.”

“Well, it doesn’t sound like Silas was wrong, exactly. Staying in a relationship for the sake of not wanting to hurt the other person will only make both parties miserable in the end, anyway.” Again, she didn’t speak from experience, but she didn’t think it took a relationship expert to realize that staying with someone because you didn’t want to hurt them wasn’t healthy. “Maybe that just means you weren’t completely unhappy. You and Isak were also friends first, right? So, it makes sense that you wouldn’t know you weren’t completely satisfied until you met someone who… ignited a fire in you, so to speak. Also, it’s a great thing that you feel like you can be completely yourself around him. That’s the way it should be. I’m happy for you.”

Caleb felt bad, since he had told a few people what had happened with Isak and with Silas and none of them were his best friend. She had been so happy since getting together with Chris, he didn’t want to be the person to bring her mood down. “I know….I just….I feel bad…because I’m happy with Silas. So much happier than I was with Isak.” He admitted quietly. That was one of the things that was eating him up inside, wanting desperately to tell someone that little detail just to get it off his chest.

Minnie’s lips tugged into a frown, hearing him say that he felt bad for being happy. She’d figured as much, but it still wasn’t something that she liked hearing, because she didn’t want her friends to feel that way. She didn’t think there was anything wrong with Caleb letting himself be happy with Silas, despite him having cheated on Isak. “Feeling bad doesn’t do anyone any good, least of all you. You can’t change what happened. All you can do is learn from it and forgive yourself. Being happy with Silas isn’t a crime. And of course, you’re happier with him. You wouldn’t have cheated on Isak if you had been completely satisfied in that relationship,” she said gently, her frown morphing into a soft smile. She wasn’t an expert in the slightest, but she didn’t think people cheated for no reason– at least, not people who were good like Caleb. That didn’t make it right, but that didn’t mean he had to punish himself forever, either.

Caleb grabbed on of his stuffed animals once he was in his bed, clutching it to his chest as she wiped away his tears. “I didn’t mean to…I tried to ignore my feelings for Silas. I really did. I didn’t want to hurt Isak. But he….he told me so many things and got so attached…I would have felt bad breaking up with him..” He didn’t include the fact that he took the boy’s virginity, knowing that only made the situation so much worse.

“I understand,” she stated, kissing his head as she sat in bed with him, pulling him close to cuddle. “But you can’t put someone else’s feelings above your own. It only causes more hurt. You wouldn’t have been happy and Isak wouldn’t have been when you weren’t happy. And, as you can see, it just led to you cheating anyways. It would have all still hurt him, but maybe it would have been better had you broken up with him before doing anything,” she pointed out. She wasn’t going to sugarcoat things and just speak honestly with Caleb. He didn’t want her to treat him any differently and she wouldn’t. “Some day, all of this will just be a memory. It’ll all be okay. I love you, Caleb, even when you make mistakes.”

Caleb leaned against Minnie’s side, wanting a bit of comfort as the conversation continued. He really wanted to keep talking to Minnie, tell her what he should have told her in the first place. “That’s what Silas said too...and I can’t really argue with him.” He stopped himself from continuing, not wanting to give away very intimate details of his relationship. “I really wish I had done it better though. Broken up with Isak when I realized I was falling for Silas.” It would be a lie for Silas to say that he hadn’t thought about trying to convince both boy to let him date them both. But remembering how well the population of Luxor reacted when he was in a relationship with both Kenzie and Teddy had squashed those thoughts before he ever vocalized them. Even now, it was nothing more than a passing though. Polyamory wasn’t something to do in high school.

I’m not saying you get a free pass here, but I think your pain is punishment enough, especially when I know how much you can blame yourself for things.”
